I wish doctors would just be honest “I can’t do the shit you need and I don’t know who can help…but here. I’ll give this doctor a call/give you their number…and you can see who else can help you here.”
Internal medicine is wonderful. Especially outpatient not so much inpatient as you mention. Ophthalmology isn’t bad but it’s a class of its own and often we only get general concepts. Pathology is wonderful especially doing stains, immunohistological findings and biomarkers. Nephrology is understandable that is why there always more fellowship spots than applicants. Radiology is cool and I don’t mind in a dark room. I imagine being Bruce Wayne in the batcave ir doing old fashion photography( which I did in high)
I want to know what even is internal medicine. Seems like kind of a umbrella term doesn't seem like a specialist or anything isn't every doctor and internal medicine doctor?
Pathologist assistant here and girl it gets easier to differentiate. We have way more colors depending on studies and stains though ha. Love my job but I understand not everyone can do it. 😂
Surprised psychiatry isn’t on the list. Always say you likely know you want to be a psychiatrist when you go to med school. My top 4 is usually pathology, psychiatry, opthamology (eyes just gross me out) although it pays very well, family medicine (the system is f&cked)
