I am overwhelmed by sadness knowing this beautiful home will be destroyed. The development intended to replace this fine farmhouse will never last as long or be as well made. 😪
“Greed disguised as progress.” Such a beautiful old home lost forevermore so that someone can get rich by destroying both the land and the home to throw up some cardboard houses.
An amazing farmhouse. It is so sad that it is going to be demolished it would make an amazing family home so much space and the woodwork was beautiful. Sad that it cannot be saved and returned to a family home.
A grand farm...so we'll kept....this home shouldn't be destroyed...im so glad you film these places... Places..might someday be the only look back in time in a fast changing world!
I love those curved doorways into each room. Such great craftsmanship in all that woodwork. Thanks for showing these old houses. They just don't make homes with so much care anymore.
The architectural salvage in here is gorgeous and hope that's taken into consideration before demo. Also noticed the lack of plentiful electrical outlets. It probably needed too many updates. A good developer would've not only kept and updated this house but would've also subdivided it, and then designed more of the same style on the land around it. This is beautiful property.
It's so sad to think this house will be torn down, it certainly looks liveable and it's beautiful, love the wood and some of the light fixtures. I love old houses I grew up in one in Massachusetts loved it!!!!! Thank you for sharing Brent stay safe and healthy!!
I agree, I don't even live in Canada, but I accidentally found his videos and I can't stop watching them, how absolutely amazing this would be to travel and find these places, I have a love for old homes too ❤ 😍 ♥
One can literally feel the love that this house sheltered. Caring for a place as this place was, by the people that lived in it, means they cared for each other just as much. So sad to see it go.
As a Canadian, I am saddened. This house looks in better condition than most houses to date. Someone really took very good care of it and was proud of their home. Such a shame, should be a landmark or something. Looks like it would be beautiful in summer, sigh,,,,,,,I feel for this house, it looked loved.
What an incredible find! Thank you for sharing it. It is so sad that anyone would choose to tear down a place like this; it would take just a little love to restore it to life again.
This home deserves to be lived in not demolished it is a home that could make a happy home with lots of love and life pout back in to it I hope it can be saved thank you for shearing this lovely home
This is amazing. The wood work alone is priceless. The second part of the house looks like the original house. This is a shame. The barn is to die for.
What a waste to tear down this house. I could almost imagine Easter dinners and Christmas trees and children running around. I wish i could have a house like that!
Why would they demolish it? It’s in nicer shape then half the crap that’s on the market in certain areas...looks like someone started renovating judging by the somewhat sanded floor in the bedrooms
Atleast half of a forest went into the construction of this property!!! Beautiful solid doors, stained woodwork, brick exterior, metal roofing... Big money!
Beautiful farm house with beautiful wood floors. Extremely small bedrooms for such a large home. Again it is unfortunate it will eventually be torn down. It had some really nice woodwork indoors. Thanks for sharing. Great job!! As always.
You can tell the decor was 70's. The green and orange shag carpeting, the wallpaper, even the multicolored carpet in the upstairs. Beautiful wood, what a shame its going to be gone. Think of all the memories it holds. I loved the size of that barn, imagining all the animals that they had there. Very nice farmhouse, nothing they put there will compare to it.
I grew up on a farm in St Catharines, If I won a lottery that's the kind of place I would love to buy and restore, the house, the barn it would be amazing just live like the Waltons haha. The multi colour and design carpet upstairs that's the same as we had in my grandmas basement as soon as I saw it the memory came back something I haven't though of in 20 years. You kind of said what I was thinking coming up the stairs having that feeling of your leg getting grabbed. I was also thinking opening a door and seeing the grudge haha your brave my friend, great job
Hubby and I saw this video today. What a shame this is a beautiful home. Love the wood floors and doors. Thank you for documenting this old girl before she got demolished. Take care.
What a beauty! It saddens me to know that it will be demolished. I've never seen a house this clean and the wood so beautiful. I must admit that the carpeting is from the early 70's.
"THEY" Want heritage destroyed. None of this is organic, it is a plan. Destroy the homes and memories and identity of a people. Plausible deniability" It was for development, the love of money,...that's the new belief system right?" No. Many of us do not believe that.
Bro, you sure this thing was going to torn down? It looks like it’s practically ready to move into. That’s the cleanest abandonment I’ve ever seen. If there is going to be a subdivision this would be the crown jewel.
Beautiful house. Someone took care of it. The shag carpets were from the sixties and seventies. Also the colored sinks and tubs. Thanks for braving the weather for us. Marry Christmas.
So sad that this beautiful house has to be destroyed! I love the woodwork, and I especially loved the main staircase. Thank you for another great video!
In Markham, these old farmhouses are usually saved. The developers are required to turn them into community centres or something else. If that is not possible, the old houses are moved to a specific subdivision owned by the City. The lots are reserved for these old homes, which are restored, updated, and sold with Covenants attached to the deed to protect them
Thank you, I am in Ont too, It's so sad seeing these beautiful homes being taken down. I can't help but think of all the happy times this old house has seen, now it's a sleeping giant. So sad. Hugs and Much Love
Such a lovely old farmhouse. I just loved all the woodwork around the doors, the barn, and the house was so well maintained, especially the basement,. Thank you for taking the time to really show the house. Women love to see the kitchens.
Yeah, they'll tear down a house that looks that solid and beautiful after probably 100 years and build a bunch of cheap clone-a-homes in it's place. They'll be falling apart in 50 years.
This is a lovely farmhouse. I would love to see the life and the joy from the people who lived here. The woodwork is gorgeous. The wallpaper is a bit much. Someone liked it anyway. It looked like an 80’s style. It wouldn’t take much cleaning to make it livable. It is a strong well built home.
It is very sad to demolish such a beautiful home and farm ...there are still young people out there that would love to farm the land..it breaks my heart.
Why on earth would you tear down such a beautiful place? I hope they salvage a lot of the house. I would live there in a heart beat. So beautiful!!!! Makes me mad, it is part of history!!! I hate New developers!!!! 🥴🥴🥴
This beautiful home just needs a little updating, it does not need to be demolished. When will people realize that new does not always mean better? Beautiful, well-made, homes like this one, are the true gems. *smh*
Amanda Wolfe Sadly it’s all about the money, it seems like it’s all the developers care about. I’ve seen so many beautiful homes get demolished so someone can build on the land.
I sure as heck hope they plan to salvage all of that beautiful trim and wood flooring in that house. What a shame it's being demolished, it's a stunner!! I actually LOVE all of the retro wallpaper! :) Thank you for documenting this gorgeous piece of history before it's gone (if it isn't already) :(
A gem!! There is a company here in the U.S. that reclaims vintage doors, windows, etc. before a demolition. Beautiful home, sad it is going to be destroyed.
Oh my goodness, the beautiful wood all over, and the trim by the floor! Old farm houses are so cool. I've always wanted to live in one. Yes, I hope they can save all of that wood too! Haha old 60's/70's style carpet, crazy! Thanks for showing us these places.
Beautiful house, I love the trim, doors and floors. So sad to see it being torn down. The yellow bathroom looks like it came out of an old mobile home from the 70's. the carpets and wall paper is straight out of the 70"s. The carpets are shag, and shag rugs are on the way back in for 2020. Awesome video!
House looks move in ready! Wild wall paper but still beautiful! Shag carpet from 70s we had the same in our living room you had to rake it so it wouldn’t lay flat! Lol! Memories!
OMG!!! I would literally give a kidney, a leg and an arm ( not necessarily my own mind ya lol) for this old farmhouse! I would never get anything else in life accomplished as I would spend all my time just staring at the woodwork. Just wow.
totally agree, makes one sick to think it will All be Destroyed! The Family that built + made this Wonderful HOME... with blood, sweat and tears ! Gone...for What ?! Nothing!
Oh wow green shag carpet, haven't seen that in along time, that goes back to the early 60's, it's a shame this house is being torn down, wouldn't take much to fix it up, thanks for sharing.
