One time that suggested videos pays off! Looking at doing this swap at some point in the future for my full size Bronco. Going to put the ZF5, though currently with the M5OD, behind it when I eventually get it all done, and I do like the kit you have, so definitely going with it.

Do these transmission come in 4x4? I am trying to figure out what transmission to pair with an om606 put into an '87 ford f350 that currently has a c6 auto.. any wisdom or recommendations is VERY appreciated. Thanks, Garrett
Garrett, Our adapter will work with your current C6 if you'd want to keep that same set-up in your truck. Otherwise, yes you can find 4x4 6R80 transmission. Feel free to give us a call if you have more questions.
really surprising y'all do not have more subscribers. This seems to be the ticket for quite a few popular swaps now. can these manuals handle the power and torque a tuned OM606 makes? edit: seems like the NV4500 can
The NV4500 is stout right out of the gate and should have no problems handling most OM606 builds. There are several other transmissions that will take the abuse for a while. As with everything it is all about how you treat it and if you're looking to have something that will hold up to your build I would have one built.
@@Sk8a1016 Do you have an order #? How long ago was this? Speed Gems has new management. Mr Bendtsen is no long with us and has nothing to do with the business. If this were something recent we would love to replace the parts that were not correct and/or refund your money.
I want to put a ZF6 behind an om617. This is perfect. I actually wanted to try a new transmission ZF has but it seems that they don't sell automotive transmission in North America. Just advertise them. Can't even get corporate sales on the phone. So this saves me.
If you get the 606 you can use the 603 injection pump to keep it entirely mechanical vs the EDC pump on the 606. Check out dieselmeken and dieselpumpuk for good pump info.
@ Bongz on the Beat - We will be taking the OM60X engines back to R&D over the next several months. We wilil eventually be working on that version, however the Jeep is our priority once we are back working on it. Thank you for the interest! www.transmissionadapters.com
@ Raymond Balcom - Hello - Thanks for your interest! These are still in R&D, so TBD...please stay tuned on our website: www.transmissionadatpers.com Thanks!
Our kits use factory torque specs. The bolts we use are not torque to yield. They should be torqued to crank using factory torque spec minus the yield.
@ narcissist injury giver - This Kit is not specific to the OM617, however, we offer multiple Kits for the Mercedes Diesel Engines - Please see the link below: transmissionadapters.com/collections/mercedes Thank you for choosing Speed Gems Transmission Adapters!
Would it be possible to make an OM606 adapter for 1994-2000 Dakota/Ram with NV3500 5 speed manual transmission? I have a 1st gen 96 dakota 5.2 V8 with NV3500 manual transmission and it’s 4x4 but i want to OM606 swap it just need to see if i can use that factory non disconnectable bellhousing since NV3500 i have is for the Ram/Dakota 5.2 only
Unfortunately, yes. Mercedes bolts come from the backside of the OEM transmission into the starter. In order to use a different transmission we had to make the adapter plate like the OEM Mercedes. Unlike most domestics where the engine or transmission is threaded instead of the starter for the Mercedes is threaded. It is the only way to hold the starter in the OEM location without additional modification(s). However, Since you're looking at the manual kit at least you can still bump-start it in a pinch. =)

@@PureCountryof91 We love the Barra. However, as they weren't really much of a standard option here in the US they are more expensive and might be a bit harder to source parts for. The OM60X were sold here in the states. This makes them cheaper to acquire and replacement parts can be found without international shipping.
@@montycrain5783 honestly, I think that's gonna be gearing, the diesel might not like the bigger gears, and might not balance out with the tire height, the 5.0 was reasonably happy at 3000rpm (I didn't do that much got loud) unfortunately, that vehicle had a fire and is gone. However, I do think the 40mpg is doable with the right gears and the 3k pound weight. Whereas I think some of those cars were 4200+?
