I like this guy. He doesn't just act how he wants, he wants to act how he should..

This guy drew so fast, the acceleration of the primer against the firing pin set the round off. That’s insane. And a great lesson to share.

Takes quite a person to admit and show a mistake they made so others can learn from it. Kudos for that. I enjoy your videos.

Speaking of accidents while drawing a loaded with live ammo single action revolver from the holster.

Tuco, I was shot in the chest by Bob Munden using live ammo at a show in Corona, California, in the late 70's. Bullet did not penetrate the chest cavity, was removed by surgeon at western medical center in santa ana California. and was a .357 cal. Loved Bob and his video's and your video's too! Thanks!

A guy at my high school was a competitive marksman. He handled firearms almost everyday of his life. Very smart and very capable. He tried to clear a jam on a .22 and got himself in the foot. You gotta stay 100 percent aware all the time. People who get hurt by their own guns are not all idiots. It can happen to anyone. Stay sharp, stay safe!

Man even if a story like that is not your proudest moment it's an immensely teachable one. Nothing gets the point across like an expert proving its just a small lapse that has big consequences. Thanks for sharing that!

Not many people would be straight up on a mistake they made. But you even showed the video on how dangerous it could be even when you have rules in place to prevent accidents from happening. Thank you for showing people that no matter now many rules you have in place, that accidents can still occur.

Excellent video Tuco! Your times and skills are world class. Shooting is an inherently dangerous sport and safety is paramount. It's impossible to eliminate all risks, but by sticking with the safety rules, even when something goes wrong you greatly improve your chances. Bad primers or powder, splashback, a rock in the dirt that causes a ricochet, the list is endless. But following the basics each and every time will increase your chances

Awesome video... That clip of the gun going off by accident made every hole i had pucker, could only imagine how it felt in the moment. Luckily your rules kept you unharmed but jeez that was scary.

I admire your dedication to being safe. When I was younger I had a ND with a critical duty 357mag. I was leaned over and it enter 2in up & 4in right of my bellybutton went 3in down came out and reentered half an inch past the bend of my leg and stopped in my upper thigh. They left the bullet in. Now I just have numbness in my thigh. Made me hell of a lot safer.

Well done Sir, and good shooting. If you shoot long enough, eventually something will happen, either to you, or someone nearby. Either by operator error, or equipment failure, in my case it was a combo of both. Following some of a few safety protocols such as you do prevented injury. I was young, in my early twenties and looking back, had a lot to learn. I had a Colt, Combat Elite, 1911, .45 ACP, still have it. I had taken it to a guy who claimed he was a 1911 pistol Smith, and had worked for Pachmayr back in the 70's. The day I got my pistol back I was pretty excited, my buddy and I headed a short distance out of town, (rural Arizona) to test it. The gun wouldn't fire, we tried repeatedly, with magazine, without, different magazines, different ammo, would not fire. So somewhat dejected, we went back to my house. 20 minutes layer we are in my living room discussing the situation. I had two recliners, parallel, with a small table in between. As we were talking I was manipulating the pistol in question. For some reason, I still can't fathom what I was thinking, I inserted a loaded magazine and hit the slide release. "BANG"! We both looked at each other, eyes wide. "Did that just happen? He asked me? Our ears were ringing, there was the unmistakable smell of gunpowder, and a .45 caliber hole in my living room floor. Soon thereafter I went to a real "Gunsmith " who took the pistol apart before my eyes and showed me the problem. The series 80 Colt has a firing pin safety, it works well, but it does require proper assembly to work properly. The way mine was assembled, the firing pin was actually sticking out of the breechface. So effectively it had slam fired, now why did it not do this out in the desert, after repeated attempts, who knows, but it started a life long journey of working on my 1911's myself, and competition shooting. Sorry for long winded reply, hopefully it can help someone else. Always follow the rules, just in case.

TUCO. Even with your stiff hand I wouldn't call you out with your iron in your stiffed hand. 🤠 You are doing great. Some guys in here are trying to put you down about the draw speed. They are writing this because of their jealousy.

Thanks for sharing your story. It’s cool that you recognized how the mistake occurred and that you had the humility to share it with the internet to promote safety.
