In this video I struggle with an abs and traction control light. Along with 4x4 not working neither does my cruise control. After replacing the speed sensor I finally find the broken wire causing the problem.
Oh yeah, same problem with my 2500. Annoying as hell to hear that “ding” every 5 seconds. Shop told me the module is back ordered and would take a year or more. I don’t have your skills but thanks for putting this video together.
Hell yeah!! I’ve been having this same problem on my truck for almost 6-8 months!! There was mechanics trying to change out my rack and pinion, others trying to change the hydraulic pump system for the brakes, etc. thanks man!! This videos saved me a ton of money!!!
I've had this same issue on my truck for a couple of months now and it's been intermittent. First thing the mechanic told me was to change the wheel speed sensor so we did that. Then it was about to be the master cylinder, CV shaft, and wheel hub. I just ordered the connector piece and Marine shrink wrap tubing. Should be here Thursday and I pray this is the repair needed.
Good Job I am having problems ever since i took my Ram Truck in for Struts and Shocks …. Thank but all my wire are good and connected perfectly still looking for my problem…..
Yes friend I did get some scan tool and I have code C220049 ABS control module I just unplug the wiring harness clean everything put some dielectric grease The was not corrosion I live in Florida Put everything back together the same s…..
I'd probably put a meter on each sensor connector just to be sure everything is getting a consistent 12v, or close. After that I'd trace out the wires from all the speed sensors just to be sure there's no broken spots. If it all checks out, you're probably looking at a control module.
Hello friend Well the code that I have said ABS CONTROL MODULE INTERNAL FAILURE That particular part will be no available till few months Any way long history short after several months my ABS and traction control completely when off I don’t know what the heck but is been few weeks and not mor Christmas tree on my truck What do you think
Hello there friend Thanks again for all your videos I’m just starting to have problems with the ABS and tracking controls and breaks light all three together Auto parts said they don’t have scanners for those lights and of course I don’t want to end up going to the dealership I have the same 3.6 2015 1500 wandering what kind of scanner you used to find out on what wheel you have the problem Thanks again and any recommendations will be appreciate
I bought a pretty cheap scanner from Amazon. It was outdated very quickly but I got lucky and it read that particular code. I haven't used it since but I'll dig it up and give you the name. To have it diagnosed at the dealership will probably cost an hour of work which I would guess is around $120.
Man...I don't remember for sure. I just asked the parts department for the connector that the speed sensor plugs into. I'll look in my garage to see if I still have the package it came in.
That blows. If you pulled the code it should tell you what corner the problem is in. From there you are probably looking for a broken wire. Just guessing though.
I just had this happen today on my ram 1500. Brakes plus wanted 300 bucks to diagnose and repair. What code scanner do you need to figure out which wheel it is? They didn’t tell me.
I just replaced my fuel pump and the same dummy lights on. I’m hoping it’s not what you had to do. I had to have my truck towed when the fuel pump took a shit. By the way is your Ram Badge the same as what you have on your videos? I’d so where did you get it done? I have something I’ve been wanting to do and can not find anyone to do it.
Yes, I replaced the factory badge with that one. Pretty sure I found it on Amazon but really can't remember, it's been a long while. I've had 3 fuel pumps replaced under warranty. They kept telling me it was an issue with the tech relaying to my gauge how full it was. Never had a problem with the pump itself.
@@notamechanic153 my fuel pump took a crap. Not sure if it was getting too hot or what. Where the hot wire was connected inside the fuel pump was discolored. Do you have a short bed? The reason for my question on that. I pulled the bed to replace the tank and ended having to drop the tank because the fuel pump is mostly under the cab. I’m going to have to watch your video again lol. My back left wheel sensor ended up throwing a code. I looked at it and the wires were ripped out of it. It looks as if it’s been like that a while wonder why it didn’t throw the code before.
No more codes. I pulled the pins out of the connector re-spliced the wires and bam. No more codes. In the not so distant future I’ll be getting the new connector/ clip and do exactly what you did. Thanks for the information and a great video. So helpful!!
@@chaddewitt1396 The dealership has done all the work to the fuel pump so far, they said they had to drop the tank every time. Not an easy fuel pump to replace.
@@chaddewitt1396 I did the back badge on my own. Very simple.. Just use some fishing string to cut the old one out. I did it while it was cold. A lot of videos will say do it hot. I feel like doing it while it's warm will just spread that sticky s*** everywhere. Cold was a piece of cake.
Hey i just replaced 2 new front wheel bearings that came with speed sensors..now no signal found feim new speed sensors and abs ,service 4x4 and trac control lights on..heeeeellllllllp lol
