Speedometer Gone Wild!! 1950 Ford F1 Gauge Diagnosis and Repair

The noise from the speedometerwas most likely caused by a dry or binding cable. You can usually pull the drive cable out of the housing from the speedometer end to find where the issue is. Check the drive at the trans end. Said binding can cause the drive gear to round out where the drive cable seats. Might have to replace the drive gear or sometimes a little epoxy can get the cable turning again. Have used a light coat of Vaseline on the drive cable as a cure for a dry cable

The lower right gauge was originally battery discharge/charge. No need for two temp gauges unless you’re watching your wobble pop temp.
