Crazy CTR Graphics Update Also I must agree the Bonus tracks they added in NF are absolute bangers especially Megamix Mania and Drive-Thru Danger The game is far better now to than it was nearly …. 5 years ago, back then all of the invisible hitboxes and walls that would kill you were horrendous. Maybe as a sub goal you could react to a NF World Record Speedrun, it’s quite insane now with the Polswid Tech.
I do agree that Beenox did a phenomenal job, and honestly I think this an extremely solid package and love letter to the past Crash racing games. I am still appreciative of what we got but it does saddens me how quick it was cut down...thanks Activision... I was honestly hoping for MK8 level of support too, seeing as they were pretty keen on going for deep cut references, and I was even hoping the CTTR tracks would return lol, Rings of Uranus would've been a great way to give a Baby Park style of experience for NF!
Theres no online trophies, but a majority of them are single race mode, getting all time trials up to n oxide times beaten, and getting the ctr and cnk tracks done
I agree with everything said here. The core mechanics of CTRNF make it a fun game despite mechanical differences that make it very far from a perfect CTR remake. Everything here mostly works fine with exceptions of the HORRID loading times and the online netcode. This game could have been one of the greatest but falls short in these two areas that leave sore taste in your mouth the more you play it. It is ridiculous that at high skill levels of play, almost of the game is wasted sitting on loading screens and victory poses. Then the online experience just kills the enjoyment because it adds a couple more waiting time for character and vehicle selection. It is such a shame but only way to make me play CTRNF is if it got an next-gen version and PC port with some tweaks to make it its final version. Nice PB btw.
This game is the best not as a remake as a complete new Game. Can we please appreciate that they turned speed ghosting which was a (glitch or unintended) a new mechanic with the blue fire. They die everything right. I cant be mad If someone preferes one over the other but thats not a comparison both are great
I'd say Prehistoric Playground's design mostly works. There just needs to be, like, some difficulty for the shortcut, or something good on the non-shortcut route to make it viable. Plus, the first blue fire pad shouldn't be such a bottleneck. It's fun to time trial as it is, but obviously, there are more things to consider than just time trial for track design.
I really want this game on PC. doing the dev trials took everything i had, and i want to for some reason, put myself through it all over again! (closest i have is the switch version on yuzu emulator, which i guess will have to suffice till a PC release comes, if ever)
Its a crime what Activision did with this game. I bought it because i loved CTR but the microtransactions came right away after they specificaly said there wouldnt be any. And after that, support died. Also no PC release. Terrible.
Sad thing about the microtransactions, that was a mis-reporting and misinterpretation on Screen Rant’s end. IIRC, the wording of the Activision representative was “there wouldn’t be microtransactions AT LAUNCH” And as slimy and scummy as that wordy is, they technically weren’t wrong and it guts me to say that
Good game, but I will never forgive the ugly blue menu, the lack of trophy girls in the podium, the lack of online cups, the exclusion of fun shortcuts in the original, the load times, the horrible online mode, and the microtransactions. Also the lack of a PC port which is inexcusable.
