Wow!!! Like and SUBSCRIBED!!! Dear Spektrum!!! Hire this guy to make your instructional videos. He got me where I needed to be in 5 mins. Thank you so much! Can’t wait to check out the rest of your videos!!!
I just bought the NX8 so I can play around with the AS3X on some planes... Really liked your tutorial on this.. Outstanding job very well done.. Thanks - Will
Thank you for posting . I saw this video a few weeks ago before I thought about buying an NX10. Now I have one and this is the go to outline for me with the setup 👍👍👍
New subscriber here with an NX10 as well. Thank you for explaining the systems well. I still have to practice and set up all the sounds for the switches.
Thank you, this was very helpfull!!...I know now ,that you can do this with a plane where the safe receiver already is installed, but it can only be done with a separate sold receiver...very helpfull and well explained video, thanks from the netherlands !
I just happened on to your channel. I was having problems setting up "safe". I was able to do it but I wish I'd seen your video first. But your video came in handy since I didn't remember the finial sequence I'd lucked upon. I'd seen other explanations but they always left something out. Yous was complete and easy to follow. I have another plan I'm going to configure. So your video will help me get it setup without endless trial and error. I have an iX 12.
This was excellent my friend . Thanks . You're good at explaining things and I know it's hard to film the transmitter . It just so happens to be the exact plane I need a receiver in as well . I believe this is the same procedure for the AR 631 . I will try it soon and post an edit if otherwise .
Take the prop off and leave it off until you're done setting everything up! Switch A is for gear and you should only use it for that. You should have left the AR637T set for 3 flight modes and used switch B (channel 7) to control the gyro. That way, you can have a position for gyro off, AS3X mode, and SAFE mode. Switch D should only be used for flaps. In case you didn't notice, Spektrum tried to get you to use switch A for gear (channel 5), switch D for flaps (channel 6), and switch B (channel 7) for the flight modes. If you will set up all of your planes this way, you won't have any problems when going from one type of plane to the next. Also, if you fly mode 2, it's better to use the switches on the left side (except for the throttle cut). You can operate everything with your left hand while flying with your right. Also, when it said to level the plane, it meant level like when it's flying, not sitting on its landing gear. When did you go into the AS3X settings screen and set the maximum AS3X gains?
Thanks for watching. Setting up switches is a personal thing and I do it to suit how I want it and that’s one way to do it. As I have the R knob to adjust AS3 gain and don’t need to have a flight mode for that I use this method instead. I do mount the prop last after setup on a new rc plane but this was on an already assembled plane just to have an example. Certainly theres more advance setup I dont’t show in this video. It was more about giving a basic understanding and show how I do it.
Why would you use the gear channel or A for safe because if you have retracts then what do you do? I would use channel B for my safe switch, which I use on my bind and fly models. Thanks for your help.
I do it because most BNF planes uses the gear channel for SAFE and switch A. When I have retracts I use a different channel and use switch B. Since this video I have moved SAFE to switch B on all of my planes but frankly I hardly ever use it.
10:11 I believe this step requires you to level the plane itself as if it’s flying. I think this captures the level orientation calibrates for the gyro (AS3X).
i just mounted this receiver in my eflite F 15. I saw in another video that you have the same plane. Can you let me know what the Gyro settings are at in the F 15. Thank you very much. I am just starting to play with the Gyro settings so it is a little bit scary. 🎉😮😅😊
Nice and helpful video _ I have the NX6 so I assume all that means is I cannot set TX gain control - I ask as I have an AR630 and not used it yet - once the AR630 is set can I then bind to a DX9 ?? and will the AS3X function still work ?
I'm confused with one part of an otherwise very clear tutorial. In the last step of setup you did not level the model but left it on its wheels, won't SAFE, because you didn't level the model, try to maintain a nose up attitude? It doesn't make sense to me not to level the model. Please explain. Thanks.
In my experience it works fine to put the model on the wheels as is without lifting the tail to have it level as a start. Then after a test flight adjust the attitude if needed. It is much better IMHO to fly with SAFE and a slight nose up than having to do up elevator. But on some planes where I judge the angle is to much I lift the tail a tad right away when setting it up.
I bought the SPM9747 DSMX SRXL2 Remote Receiver. It has a 4pin/4wire, the rx1/rx2 on the 6250HX is a 3pin/3wire slot. Can I use the X-BUS slot on the 6250HX for the SPM9747 remote receiver?
You can modify the travel of the ailerons and elevator in safe mode, I have the ar637t in the AL37 model of motion rc but it is very difficult to lift and turn it because the surfaces have little travel. Thanks
Thanks. My receiver is Sepktrum AR630 / 631 with asx3. Just looking for a simple way to activate the asx3 , turn it on or off using my FRsky. Any idea how!
Just last week I was able to catch the HH sale where the AR630 was $30.00 US off regular price. $79.99 US, the regular price, is in my opinion just too expensive. There are less expensive ways to set your model up with Leveling and Stabilization than going Spektrum.
They are expensive I know but I've already made the investment and have a bunch of receivers to reuse in new planes. I also have the cheaper OrangeRX receivers which has been working great so far.
If the kill switch controller can be controlled from a servo channel I guess it will work. But I only fly electric so just to be sure ask someone who do nitro.
If I buy a new AR630 receiver and want to set up AS3X for the Arrows Marlin, do I need to also buy the AS3X usb cable? Or can I bind with my NX6 radio and then set up the forward programming with that?
@@SunriseRCAviator Correct. However, I'm currently watching the as3x series videos and the guy said that the cable is needed to update the receiver. Do I need to apply updates?
@@aragorn318 If you purchase a brand new AR630 theres no need to update it. Its only the receivers that comes in BNF planes you need factory reset in order to unlock them.
@@SunriseRCAviator Yes, that was my next question. If I decide to take the ar631 receiver out of my aeroscout s2, will I need the usb cable then? Or can I also factory reset through forward programming after binding?
That is the idea with SAFE. To limit travel and avoid tipping over the plane. You can adjust it under angle limit in forward programming and increase travel to a certain limit.
