I disagree. I HATE it when RU-vidrs exploit their children. You want to put your face out there for the world to critique? Be my guest. Leave your innocent kid out of it when the internet lasts forever, and some high school bully will dig up old videos of their dorky parents cooing over them being a baby. You feel the warm fuzzies from babies? Good, you developed according to design to protect your species' young. That doesn't mean parents should immortality dox their kids.
@@Undomaranel it depends on how much the do it, family vloggers cross a line yes, but that is because every aspect of their child’s life is fully out in the open and potentially monetized. A single video or even a few videos with just cameos isn’t the same level and can allow for the kid to still have a private life outside of the videos and exist as a normal person. They aren’t being fully exploited for content in any way and it’s just parents having fun with their child, also a lot of kids get bullied for 0 reason. Children are very, very mean, and will be bullies and bullied no matter what you do since Children lack empathy when they are younger and have to learn it overtime. Empathy and kindness do have to be at least on some level learned as a skill.
The best thing about spelljammer is you can not do the main campaign, and use it as a tool to go anywhere in the DnD universe. My players are cowboy bebop style bounty hunters, who started in Eberron, have been to the forgotten realms, and will go to the radiant citadel soon. Also plan on somehow incorporating the witch light festival. Also... Using a Warforged Colossus as a ship! Very fun.
Watched this video while my newborn was asleep in the other room. Kept getting up to check on them before I realized the baby noises were coming from the video.
Mom and Dad get Spelljammer. Baby gets Spell Jammies (clothing, common; Minor Magic; While wearing the Spell Jammies, gain +2 Charisma and all who see the wearer must save vs adorable or be charmed)
*Seeing mini set:* "Oh damn that's a lot of really good minis in one set and it's more minis than buying the nolzurs booster pack" *Seeing the map set:* "Ok these are fantastic. And I can think of alternative uses for them as well" *Checking the price:* "Nope nope nope."
@@dmeep Still a ton of stuff besides the minis. You get the book, so thats $50 right there. Hands outs, maps, creature stat cards, Ring of Shooting Stars. You should also check out the new DM Vault that's in pre-order.
That’s the problem I have with things like this in general… I understand that their cool things to have but my god they don’t make it easy to get with the prices they give these things.
I work in a charity bookshop and we recently got our hands on an original 2e Spelljammer box set in nigh on mint condition. You better believe I grabbed that before any customers saw it.
@@John-ir4id the children of Aberdeen thank you for your concern and wish to offer you their most sincere assurances that precisely none of them are playing 2e AD&D in 2023
I GM therapeutically applied D&D and want the Beadle & Grimm Curse of Strahd kit SO BAD. It looks incredible!! They always put out such high quality stuff.
9:56 “you can do it, big spider monster! You should totally be in the new Monster Manual. The worst they can say is ‘I don’t wanna fight that guy.’” Jacob: “EWW! Look at this guy. EEWWWW!”
The intro hit hard lmao, I’m glad my two year old moved passed the “yeah I’m not sleeping tonight” phase, it took a lot of work and scheduling to get them to sleep the night and I can’t imagine going back. (We’re absolutely going back next year with the next one lol)
Since ASMR is the highest search term, here's an idea for an ASMR video: Roll a d20 repeatedly. Whenever it lands on a 20, shout "CRIT!" That'd be hilarious to me. Everyone who tries to use it to sleep getting suddenly jolted awake by you shouting "CRIT!" at completely random intervals. (If you want the idea go ahead and take it, but it's terrible & not a real suggestion.)
As a Trekkie I really want to play this. I know Star Trek has its own TTRPG but it's a whole new rule system that I don't necessarily want to learn. This is like a happy middle ground. Also congratulations on the baby! I had no idea you guys were pregnant!
I don't watch-watch ASMR. I just need something to listen to while I do chores. Your podcast, or a musical soundtrack, or a three hour and forty-eight minute long video essay on a theme park, or someone trying to sell me steampunk goggles in a soft voice.
jacob. I decided to drink a little because I have a pounding headache and this worked last time. I am not a fan of asmr, but I can say asmr while intoxicated is alright. keep up the good work. I have to play dnd in an hour and I kinda am the party leader so this will be fun. godspeed spiderman.
@@TheGIJew. Always nice when a bit of gentle self effacing humor just gets repeated back to me but more unpleasant. If people that like spelljammer are supposed to be all about positivity how come they're mean to actual people and nice to inanimate pieces of text?
Pulled the trigger on that kamigawa backpack set because you guys introduced me to them. Absolutely pricy, but it's easily one of the nicest things I own hobby wise
My wife and I have been playing Light of Xaryxis every week and we will be on the last chapter next week. Our DM is so cool and fun that we're both excited and dreaded because we barely survived the big event in the Temple of Light (not gonna spoil anything else!)
OG Spelljammer was great. The new version just did away with space combat, which is like sayin' "Here's Black Flag without the ships!" Happy people are at least trying to fill in that void.
I don't really think they did away with it, we already have books that say how normal ship combat works, it elaborated on the effects of space on ships and pcs as well as making ships with great designs and maps. It's quite easy to run if you just know how to run normal ship combat. Perhaps they didn't detail it entirely in that one book, but we definitely have the tools to run it effectively and with ease.
