Bentos get even cheaper at the supermarkets during closing time... past 6pm, large chains like aeon offer 50% discounts, resulting in 250-350 yen for quality Japanese ready-made meals are a steal! Whenever I holiday in Japan, the su-pa is my definite evening getaway

You did good in your selections. Not bad for 1000 yen. Funny thing, when we visited Okinawa in Oct/Nov 2017, the first two weekends we were there were accompanied by typhoons. Since we were staying a Naha hotel, we went to the local supermarket and stocked up on everything that would fit into our room and tiny refrigerator. I think we spent about $40 on typhoon supplies. Turned out to be wimpy typhoons, but at least we had plenty of snacks and beverages to get us by.

That last chip looked buttery.

Thank you for this video. Makes me miss Okinawa even more. I didn't see that many 7-Elevens in Naha, but there were a lot of Family Marts and Lawsons. How about doing the $10 buys at those two combinis? BTW, Hawaii has similar items at their 7-Elevens. While not as good as the 7-Elevens in Asia, it's way better than any on the U.S. mainland.

In nishihara mall store they have tempura and record store is it still there i go home and stop there all the timei bought toshi hes 61 now and he became number one...i boyght also seiko maduda record i guess they had a singing taishou and toshi won ..he was 18 than ...and pink ladies ufo i bought tooo..tgey were famouse i criedcwhen finished i love u tube bring back menoriescthank you u tube...byeee i still lisyenctovthem on u tube...try it matt yoy love moring musume..they speak some english and japanese words...love that

It’s hard to resist. Is there any Japanese place that has allergy friendly food? My family has dairy allergies and gluten allergies. Not like we are on the popular gluten diet but legit food allergies and sensitivities.

I liked this video. Seeing you eat the yummy food in this video made me wonder... I have heard that it is extremely rude not to finish your entire plate when eating in Japan - even if you are at a resaurant. Is this correct? If so, what can you do if you are full but there is still food on your plate?

Matt, here is the ultimate idiot question from a viewer, and please ignore if you wish. Do they still have Love Motels in Okinawa? I remember back in the 80s/90s there were many such businesses in the Awase area, including the famous Love Boat hotel. Of course, there were other love motels throughout Okinawa, at least that is what I am told. Just curious--might be a good video opportunity. Take care
