@@hojusara 약식은 머 전기밥솥 있으면 만들수 있어요. 재료(찹쌀, 간장,설탕, 견과류 등등) 넣고 밥통에 넣고 그냥 일반 취사버튼 눌르면 되더라구요. 밥이 다 되면 네모난 납작한 틀(Baking Tray)에 평평하게 형태를 만들고 살짝 굳혀요. 살짝요. 그리고 먹기 좋은 크기로 잘라서 포장해서 바로 냉동하면 먹고 싶을때 미리 꺼내서 실온에서 해동해서 먹으면 좋거든요. 원하는 견과류 많이 넣고 만들면 좋죠. ^^ 저도 약식 좋아해요. 만드는 것이 부담스럽다면 떡집에서 사서 바로 냉동실에 넣어두세요. 그리고 먹으려면 실온에 한 20~30분 정도 두면 말랑하게 됩니다. 그 식빵 사다가 냉동실에 넣어 뒀다 꺼내서 실온해서 해동 하면 폭신한 상태로 되는 것 처럼요. 같은 방법이에요. 반. 드. 시. 떡집에서 사오자 마자 냉동실에 넣으세요. 하루 지나서 넣고 난뒤 다시 꺼내서 실온해동 하면 그 말랑한 상태가 안되더라구요. 약식 만들기 도전! (인터넷에 밥통으로 약식 만들기 하면 엄청 많이 나와요.)을 기대해 봅니다 으하하하하~!!! :)
okay no address but they got off at daechi exit 3/4. and its a general food store underground 7th entrance. then the name of the place is kim Kyungae. Store A-38. so even if you don't know where in the store the map she pointed to in the front shows the break down of the inside just find a building then hunt for 38. whew.. @ 0.36 the yellow canopy thing looks just like what they went under for the entrance. the address you put in maps isn't wrong its just you have to go underground :) hope that helps you!!!! let me know how it goes. then next time i return i want to go!.

When I first came to Korea, I went into a convenience store and bought some 영양갱 not knowing what it was. I was just in the mood to try something new and the cashier goes, "할아버지들 좋아하는 캔디인데". It was alright but I probably won't ever get it again until I become a 할아버지. I like 약과 and 약식 too. Just the perfect amount of sweetness with a savory chewy texture that breaks apart since the rice grains are still intact unlike other ddeoks made from rice powder.
If you try some traditional Japanese sweets Yokan 羊羹 which 영양갱 was made after, you might start eating it till you become a 할아버지 or for the rest of your life.
