I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I’m 24 and still live here. Y’all visited all of the tourists traps that costs an arm and leg. Uptown Nola is where it’s at, along with the Marigny, and Bayou.
I have long enjoyed the videos of your travels. They're interesting, informative, a delight to watch. I particularly enjoyed this one. I live in Hammond, Louisiana, a small college town about 50 miles (80 km) Northwest of New Orleans. I spent a lot of my teen years in the city and have fond memories of those years. And, of course, it is readily accessible whenever there is some event, some attraction that appeals to us (concerts, theatrical productions, restaurants, festivals, etc.) Your own city, Perth WA, is what really fascinates me. It looks like a big, friendly city with lots of wonderful attractions. Next time you're home, maybe you can put together a more comprehensive video of Perth, Freemantle and the area. Maybe some day I'll get to visit Australia. I would love to visit Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane. And a trek from Cairns to Broome, I think, well, I think it would be beautiful and adventurous. If I were super rich and could live anywhere in the world, I think Melbourne and London would be my top choices. (And I've never been to the UK or Australia.) My best to you as you continue your travels.
Brad pit is actually from Louisiana, I’m from New Orleans and he actually has a home down there to so that might explain why he does a lot of movies there.
Sandra Potisek u should the Mardi Gras is the best but the one thing is that it’s very haunted it’s one of the top haunted places but it’s really fun so much things to do their I live down their by the way
My own thoughts after visiting New Orleans.... Were you ever so inspired to sit down in a quiet place and write in words that thing, that place, that time, that experience , that feeling that made you realise you are so alive in a beautiful life? I wrote something once after travelled for New Zealand to visit New Orleans. I did not want to forget and reading what I had written , I have always wanted to share my thoughts on New Orleans somewhere in part because this is my writing. More so in honour of the place New Orleans, U.S.A. So here it is. New Orleans ..roaming the streets of the French Quarters in the bright, busy, hustling and humid heat of day, every footstep bringing with it a veritable soup of aromas and sensations and sounds from the subtle fragrance of incense, to the hot and sharp tang of spicy Cajun foods. From Jazz and Brass bands in Jackson Square at twilight, to the captivating sound of Blues and Saxophone drawn from the very depths of a street singers soul. The sound of steam driven Calliope pipes wafting across the city to fade the distance as a paddle steamer wends lazily the mystery and myth of the Mississippi River. The onset of dusk bringing with it a certain aura of expectance and poise and magic that seems to pervade the very city streets themselves. Walking the bright and vibrant flare of mid evening Bourbon Street amidst a jostling throng of exuberant celebrants, one continuous blaring celebration from streets beginning to streets end, lost in the pure sensation of so much collective energy and found again in the awe and wonder of all to behold and experience in the surroundings. The charged and moody atmosphere of dimly lit Voodoo shops where to peruse amongst talismans and charms, runes and brightly painted wooden masks, spices and candles, incense and bottles and jars and vials of mysterious herbs tucked away in obscure corners as though by whose very design, to be rediscovered after ages long past. The bright, alluring shops where to adorn ones self with brilliant bead necklaces by which to blend with the crowd, where you can try on and pose coyly, a stately nod and courtly jest from behind hand held masks bedecked with bright plumes of colourful feather. The young street buskers whom for the askance of a coin or two, if you will, tap dance with more than a life times worth of skill, or so it seems, in dim lit doorways and street corners. And still, days after my return, to lay wrapped in the dark blanket of night lost in sweet half wakeful moments, to tarry in the drowsy mist of dream and yearn, as the sound of calliope pipes on the Mississippi river fade once more in my ears...New Orleans, Love from New Zealand.
Yes! One of our favorite cities! One thing you didn't seem to visit that is INSANE is the WWII museum in New Orleans. I'm not sure we have ever been to a museum in the world that can match it...Really awesome video, you guys! Especially liked all your drone footage! 😊
Outstanding! I do like the French Quarter. BTW, the author Anne Rice who wrote "Interview with the Vampire" (and created the Vampire Lestat) used to live in the Garden District. She used her own house as the setting for her Mayfair Witches novels.
The old wedding style cake homes are gorgeous. We found the cemetary’s pretty interesting how they’re dead are buried above ground because of being below sea level.
@@flyingthenest oh I can't wait for this series. This is a trip we want to do when the kids get bigger. They are big space fans! Are you going to the Kennedy space centre? We would love to time it so we can see a rocket launch! Enjoy 😊
@@flyingthenest Are you both still in Florida? Im in Melbourne, about an hour southeast of Orlando. You should try air boating and eat gator's tail.... and don't forget, key lime pie! I was thinking about you when I heard the news about the storm. But good to hear you got out in time.
@@flyingthenest You will love NASA and the space coast, hope you allocate more time there then to Disney which is, well I guess you just have to be a disney person to spend a lot of time there, and some people love it, truly so much more to Florida hope you get to take it all in.
Wonderful video. I think you did a great job in showing the historical and high society part of New Orleans in the Garden District, the party atmosphere of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter as well as the plantations and the history of slavery (which without a doubt spurred the wealth of some in the city). New Orleans is distinctive -- there are no other places like it in the United States. Great job in showing all the sides.
Yes Lafeyette cemetery is where the originals filmed at divided in like 3 or 4 sections got my mother’s family line is buried there all of them I will be buried there when I die
I feel bad for the locals. The humidity and smell in the summer is brutal. I’m from California where its always over 100 degrees in the summer but it’s nowhere near as humid. It hit like a truck when I walked out of the airport
I live here in the French quarter but if you visit you need to get out of the French quarter because there are soooo many other things you will miss out on
If you come to Nashville come canoe on the Harpeth and check out our state parks! Outside of downtown is so much to do and see! ❤️ Tennessee is one of the most beautiful/underrated states with amazing food and people!
Very happy you both enjoyed out culture and people. New Orleans is unlike any place you will ever visit. You stay here a few weeks and you'll be family. TY for the great exposure! :)
new subscriber here out of Tampa, Florida! do you take the aerial videos with a drone? If so, which one? Looking to get one for some family trips. thanks!
Their videos are pretty much always a couple weeks behind (probably for safety reasons and to allow for non-travel rest periods), so they probably haven't been in LA for 2 weeks at least :)
One of the USA's most popular tourist destinations! Historically, New Orleans has always enjoyed top heavy governments, which allows it's citizens and visitors to ignore their duties and responsibilities. The result is traffic insanity. If you visit New Orleans, don't act like a local. It's extremely bad taste to add to New Orleans' lawlessness. If the residents and visitors ever accept their social responsibilities, America would be impressed knowing that New Orleans' streets, adults and communities, finally became law-abiding, ethical and conscientious. Imagine, after only three centuries! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG my favourite travel vloggers are going to Disney!!! We literally just booked our first family trip there for next year so very excited to watch your upcoming vlogs!!! Amazing! Loved these New Orleans vlogs, deffo going on the bucket list!
Hi! I love your videos so much, you guys are the cutest couple! I highly recommend visiting Savannah, Georgia (a gorgeous city similar to New Orleans but with so many cute little squares full of oak trees, and a nice island nearby called Tybee Island!), Miami, and Charleston! :)
Speaking of ginger…I’m new here. But you spoke so highly of bundaberg I finally went on Amazon and had to buy a case to try it. And wha whaaa. It’s not even close to my brand. I love my Fever Tree brand. It has a delightful ginger bite. Bundaberg tasted so watered down I could barely taste the ginger at all! So just so you know….you’ve got to try fever tree. 🤩
I believe that the Mojo Cafe on Magazine is across from the St. Vincent .... one of the Haunted places in New Orleans wait was it you two that went there or some other youtube couple
Please don’t ever do that accent ever again. There is the New Orleans accent which is a a mixture of Irish and Italian dialects. Then there is Acadiana where the French Acadians live. Otherwise known as Cajuns. You could probably recognize our accent, but it’s not the one you did. Not even close. Then there are all of the Creoles near Cameron Parish and the surrounding areas. Then you have the German area normally around Baton Rouge. A lot of the Okies settled up north Louisiana. Then a lot of Texas influence is along the boarder. Like Toledo Bend, Zwolle and Manny.
that's what i was thinking haha...i thought he will mention it after he said that brad pitt seems to like to film movies in new orleans....but it never came...
You guys should check out Mardi Gras World. You can tour the facility and they show you how they make Mardi Gras floats. You also get to sample some king cake.
I live in la for the people that haven’t been to New Orleans it beautiful like the garden district is beautiful and also for a fact my great grandma owns a home in the garden district
