City Park, Audubon Zoo, New Orleans Museum of Art, WWII museum, Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, St Louis Cathedral, The Cabeldo, The Presbytere and much more. Take a ride on the St. Charles Street Car. There are many world class restaurants. There are many small New Orleans Jazz Clubs for music lovers. To do any justice you could spent a month and not see all the things to see in New Orleans. Enjoy your stay and be careful.
When y’all talked about the poboys and banh mi, because of the fishing aspect of New Orleans and the similar climate to vietnam, a lot of Vietnamese immigrants move to New Orleans or Louisiana in general so Vietnamese food is very well known throughout the city.
You must go back during Mardi Gras!! I am from Lafayette, which is about 2 hours away and Mardi Gras all over Louisiana is the best and my favorite is King cake!! A must have.
Take the ghost tour of an old cemetery at night! Be sure to take the paddle boat tour on the Mississippi and learn the history of the riverboats and showboats of the 1800's. Looks like you're absorbing the flavors of New Orleans! As always, take care and Happy Travels!
Definitely try shrimp & grits and/or cheese grits! Muffuletta sandwiches! Turtle soup is also pretty good, you can find it at just about any of the historic restaurants in New Orleans. Hope the tropical storm/hurricane doesn't put too much of a damper on your visit here! Go to Bourbon Street, get a handgranade to drink then leave Bourbon Street. Lol.
I visited NO two years ago and it is the only city I’ve visited that felt like it could be home. It is HOT, but the vibe and culture there are truly unique. I’m from Brooklyn and that’s where my heart is, but New Orleans is a close 2nd.
KiraiBK Hi! I’m from New Orleans , so happy you enjoyed visiting. NYC has always been where my heart is to travel to, and I LOVE Brooklyn... is NOLA similar to Brooklyn in any way??
Gumbo is my absolute favorite, I make my own every year in the fall when the temperature start to cool. My grandmother used to say that gumbo warms the soul :)
In my opinion if you want the best Beignets in New Orleans you should go to Morning Call but I mean Cafe du Mode has always been my second favorite just Morning Call is a bit more local and less in the city Also if you have time go to Hansons Snoballs. I grew up going there I moved and the building is red and really old but the best snoballs in town Also wedding cake and strawberry are the best flavors 😍😍😍😍
I’m so glad to see you enjoying your stay in the USA. Greetings from Georgia, the peach state. Thank you so much for the love and passion for travel that we get to see through your camera lens. I’ve wanted to travel my whole life and have never been able to...You make it possible for me to at least see what I can of it from my home. The quality of your work is exceptional at times it feels as though I am actually right there with you! Just can’t say thanks enough for the joy it has brought to my life. Keep up the great work! May God bless you with continued success, good health and safe travels! Bye 👋
Depends on where you go. Most tourist restaurants are gonna cut corners. Of course, when you make it yourself you can make it just the way you like it, so I'm with you on home made being best overall.
@@snuffilmreject Yeah maybe I didn't have it from the right places. I've actually had it twice, not sure why I put once in my comment. One restaurant was in the Quarters and the other was at the Casino that used to be on the Lakefront.
I hope y’all had so much fun at my favorite city in Louisiana it is so crazy during Mardi Gras y’all need to go there again next year so y’all can see us so much more alive during Mardi Gras
They didn’t reopen after Katrina, but the BEST food experience had in NOLA was at Uglesich’s. The food, the owner and the vibe were all unforgettable. I think I’ll talk about it until I die.
For the best Muffalata go to Central Grocery right across the street from the French Market get there early though because when they run out of bread they are finished selling them for the day.
Yes. A muffaletta from Central Grocery (Decatur St. near Cafe du Monde) is a must try. You can buy a half one for about $8! It is an Italian sandwich invented there! 😁
You have totally sold me on visiting the states. I have never had any interest for that part of the world, but the food and the music in New Orleans is calling out to me!
It’s wonderful. My favorite city. Food, music, just a joyful festive spirit, unique ecosystem (love bayou “gator” tours), historic NOLA it has it all. Not stuffy or fancy just hit the French quarter and have a good time
New Orleans is a special place. Lots of people say that about lots of different places.. but for New Orleans it’s genuinely the truth. You’ll see when you get here 🖤⚜️
Nobody on these shows ever try the praline filled beignets at the french market. They are indredibly fluffy and crispy on the outside. The filling is unbelievable.
New Orleans has such amazing architecture. The French Quarter looks so beautiful. Here I am in Australia drinking my morning coffee, wishing I was in New Orleans dancing down Bourbon street. If any Americans read this, can you please invite me to come visit? I promise us Aussies are friendly people! :D
Great choice to visit. Magazine Street is Amazing, and more of the Locals Vibe. Do be Carefull There,is some Very dangerous parts of NOLA also. Also Good Choice going now. The Heat will, keep the crowds low.. I went durring Jazz Fest and It was,to busy to do anything.. Great,Video Nesters
New Orleans Travel Hacks: Streetcars are probably the cheapest way to travel around NOLA unless you know someone who's willing to drive you around for free. If you wait at a stop and pay $3/person when you get on, ask for a "fast pass" (like Disney World). The driver will know what you mean and give you a ticket that gets you unlimited streetcar rides for 24 hours. Most of the streetcars I've been on have A/C too which really helps in the sweltering summers. Also: you can actually check to see when the next streetcar is scheduled to arrive at your stop on the RTA website. My friends and I usually park somewhere close to a stop where there's free parking, Google Maps the place we're trying to get to, and then select public transit options. It'll tell you the easiest way to get to your destination using the streetcars including when to get off, where to catch the next streetcar, and how far you have to walk after you get off your last stop. It's so much easier and safer than trying to pay for parking where ever you're trying to get to. ESPECIALLY near the French Quarter. If you still want to drive and park in the French Quarter, there's no guarantee you'll find a parking spot because, you know, it's the French Quarter. BUT if you don't mind gambling for 15mins at Harrah's, you get free parking. However, if you don't want to gamble for 15mins, there's usually free parking around the very end of the French Market by the levee. You might just have to get a few extra steps in for the day. Whatever you end up deciding to do, please be careful in the French Quarter at night. Yeah, Bourbon St. looks fun for tourists (overrated imho), but the only locals there are either working in the bars you're buying hand grenades and shots, or the homeless people on the side of the street that 9/10 are trying to scam you. Long story short, the later it gets, the more dangerous it gets in the French Quarter, so have fun just please be aware of your surroundings. I have so many friends who have stories about being out and about late at night and hearing gunshots down the street or coming back home and hearing about some robbery or stabbing that happened a couple blocks down from where they were. New Orleans is such a unique place and a great vacation spot for all ages, but at the end of the day it's another big city. Remember to be a smart tourist and you'll have an amazing time!
Saint Charles Avenue...not Charles Street. Not being snarky just FYI for anyone planing on visiting. OMG Y’all are eating gumbo and étouffée with a fork! 😂🤣
CC OMG..so agree with that. Haven’t been to NOLA in a while. We’re full time travelers currently in Peru, but we just might have to put Louisiana back on the map of our travels. They had us at Beignets! 😂😁
There is a man in the lower 9th ward who is a hurricane Katrina victim. He will tell you the story of the day the storm hit and share about his new home that was built by a charity started by Brad Pitt to help hurricane Katrina victims.
if you go back to New Orleans during a month with an "R" in the name of the month, have OYSTERS different ways both raw and cooked! There they are more special than you'll find them in other parts of the country. Also I would try to go to one of the famous restaurants like Commander's Palace or Brennan's and have brunch there. Emeril Lagasse, the famous chef, author and Food Network star put in a lot of his early years as a chef at Commander's Palace. In fact there is a food tour of New Orleans given by Emeril Lagasse on RU-vid. Look that up for recommendations of what Emeril thinks are the best restaurants in New Orleans.
I feel Appreciated! I live in Louisiana and I don’t hear it mentioned much and this is really cool! (You should also go to lake Charles or Sulphur cuz they have rlly cool stuff there like water Parks and little concert shows)
Me and my friend tried this food before and it was so good and we were happy together but now she's gone.😢 but I'm happy for you guys Keep up the good work 👍
Beautifully shot. Adorable. Been to New Orleans many times. Hope the second video happened. You missed a lot. Galatoire's, Antoine's, Central Grocery (Mufalletta), Commander's Palace, Jacques Imo's, Desire Oyster Bar...etc. SO much more!
