Learn about this very helpful drawing exercise; structural gestures, starting with spheres, not only help with the understanding of the third dimension--but doing the exercise helps many other aspects of your drawing

Man, you sure helped me realized something that would drastically improved not only my sense of spatial awareness but my overall drawing skill. I wish i could tell you briefly how, but I'd rather not bore you with too much backstories😂 Anyways, thanks again. Godbless you

Amazing tutorial video!!!!! My sphere looks like it has been driven over by a car and beaten up by a baseball bat.... But I will practice this a lot to get rhythm and accuracy.

Rhythm when using the pencil is super useful for learning pretty much any motion, from drawings to symbols and even for learning the alphabet for a new language if you aren't a visual learner. As someone who's learning Japanese or Chinese, where stroke order is important, Rhythm helps memorize the order easier somehow. My guess is that rhythm makes the entire drawing or symbol one huge motion that can be sped up while varying the delay between each line makes you memorize it as an order of multiple motions. Also with the way you hold your pencil, it's hard to draw a smaller picture, is it possible to learn this by holding closer to the tip, or is it too hard and I should just get a bigger space?

so when the times comes to draw the outline of the sphere, is it just a matter of drawing a circle that touches tangent with the 3 main x y and z planes?

thanks a lot for this! I love basic tutorials :) I have to admit that often times i prefer repetetiv exercises that build a good foundation. So I'm excited to see your next video coming out .. mid-october? ;P

Thanks. The new video is being delayed because I'm working on the process discussed in the video and it will need to be changed a bit. Not sure when the video will come out but before the end of the year.

There was a script for a new video which I narrated; the video came in at a half hour, which is too long. I need to go back and edit it down to about 10 minutes. There's just been little time. Hope to have something for you before summer.
