On today's episode of K-Town, Matt is joined by his wife Rochelle, her friend Kristina, and Eater Chicago senior editor Ashok Selvam to party and eat at Dancen, the late-night Chicago favorite. The team eat there way through the menu, starting with spicy pork skin, and moving through the chicken gizzard, stir-fried squid and finally the famous cheese-covered fire chicken, all while sharing a few laughs.
Eater is the one-stop-shop for food and restaurant obsessives across the country. With features, explainers, animations, recipes, and more - it’s the most indulgent food content around. So get hungry.

This place is good. Only negative thing is they open late. They need to open earlier. 5 PM is a bit late, especially if folks are visiting from out of town and their hotel is in downtown chicago. Having to check in early at the hotel, tour/do other activities there, then having to drive to Lincoln square for this is kind of far and traffic is bad. If it opens early, like around 11am for lunch prior to heading to downtown, it would be great

Gizzards aren't the "shithole" of the chicken. It's not at the butt end of the bird. That would be the pygostyle (commonly: "parson's nose") . Gizzard acts like a food mill, grinding up food to help the stomach with digestion hence it's tough/muscular texture.

I love Korean food, the problem is in my area, there are no good Korean Restaurants. It's great to be able to watch such a great channel like this. I think this video is one of the best you've done. Great job!!!! Oh, I'm spoiled as I lived in South Korea for two years, 1978 to 1979 then again 1989 to 1990. Wonderful food! Jon

If I could afford it, I'd travel to Chicago just to eat at this restaurant.

I went there very often since it's literally next-door for 5 minutes walking, food is great and spicy. The only complain is I asked water for freaking hour and I didn't get it lul.

It's interesting how far apart are Korea and Spain and how much both share food wise; fried pork skin, octopus and squid, hearty stews. So many "concepts" are basically the same.
@geonhoyun
@geonhoyun 6 лет назад
MalakianM2S also note that they both have this 'burnt rice'-eating culture, even though they call it in a different way.. truly amazing.
@MalakianM2S

Yeah, here is called "socarrat" which is valencian (a dialect) for burnt.

I recently did learn that is a blood sausage in korea too, there are some all around the globe, that's another uncommon dish shared.

I wish i could visit Spain someday.. Im learning Spanish too😂 but do I have to speak valencian to travel around the region?

Matt, this is something that I always found strange about Torrance - I grew up there (don't live there anymore), and a good portion of my classmates at West were first and second generation Korean-Americans. That said, like your wife mentioned, there are not a ton of Korean restaurants in Torrance. I mean, I'd love to see episodes from Eater about the amazing Japanese restaurants in Torrance, but your wife is absolutely right.

hey how about starting a new show on indian cuisine similar to k-town? i mean we got such a variety of dishes but all i see is dosa and butter chicken. indian food is much more than that.
@sneer0101

just a random guy You're better off doing that in somewhere like the UK. Indian food is pretty poor in America.
@justarandomguy4313
@justarandomguy4313 6 лет назад
that's where you are wrong. infact it's the exact opposite. most of the African and Caribbean dishes are inspired from indian dishes as indian people were brought to these countries by the British.
