❤️ "Spicy Stir-fried Tofu" Ingredients (Serves 6) - Cooking with Fen & Lady First
💛Main Ingredients:
1 box of firm tofu (soaked in a mixture of 1 cup of water and 1g of salt for 15 minutes)
200 grams of thinly sliced pork belly
2 king oyster mushrooms (about 160g to 200g)
4 stalks of spring onions
1 bunch of cilantro
3 cloves of garlic
1/2 a chili pepper (optional)
💛Seasonings:
3 tablespoons of olive oil
1 gram of salt
1 gram of sugar
1 tablespoon of spicy bean paste (adjust to taste)
2 tablespoons of light soy sauce (adjust to taste)
1 gram of MSG (optional)
💛Main Utensil:
Chinese Wok
❤️Directions:
1. 00:26 Soaking Tofu in Salt Water:
- Tear tofu by hand into bite-sized pieces.
- In a small bowl, dissolve 1 gram of salt in drinking water. Place the tofu pieces in the salted water. If the water doesn't cover the tofu completely, add a little more water.
2. 02:11 Preparing King Oyster Mushrooms and Pork Belly:
- Tear the king oyster mushrooms into shredded pieces.
- Cut the pork belly slices into appropriate sizes.
3. 02:53 Sautéing the Pork Belly:
- Briefly sauté the garlic cloves in water.
- Once the water evaporates, add oil and sauté the pork belly until it changes color.
4. 04:00 Stir-frying King Oyster Mushrooms and Seasoning:
- Stir-fry the king oyster mushrooms with 0.5 gram of salt and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce.
5. 04:33 Stir-frying Tofu and Seasoning:
- Mix the spicy bean paste, soy sauce, and water according to the proportions in the video.
- Add the tofu and evenly coat it with the spicy bean paste sauce. Stir-fry until combined. Add sugar and MSG (optional) if desired.
- Taste and adjust seasoning by gradually adding more soy sauce and spicy bean paste. Different brands of soy sauce and spicy bean paste vary in saltiness, so adjust according to taste.
6. 05:57 Adding Spring Onions/Chili/Cilantro:
- Add spring onions and chili to the wok and cook until the spring onions soften.
- Serve on a plate and garnish with cilantro on top.
