The amount of times I've gotten to a random crime like a robbery, or armored truck heist as Peter or Miles and the other is either already there or literally swings in to help and the team up moves and quips that follow never fail to leave a smile on my face!

Glad im not the only one who leaves Spider-man and Miles Morales installed just to go for a quick web swing around new york to relax and have some fun. For me, its like the video game equivalent of going for a walk.

I actually ended up loving the web wings. I think they were done really well. When web swinging is upgraded fully I found myself using it quite a bit and thought the web wings ended up being just a cool different edition.

Spider-Man 2 is the greatest superhero game I have ever played. Just finished it yesterday and "blown away" doesn't even beGIN to describe my impression of it. For most Gamers, heavy story-driven games are one-and-done. But I am a story-driven Gamer myself. So I replay these type of games a lot. I've played both Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales 6 times so far. But Spider-Man 2?!?! Yeah... I'm going to be playing for YEARS to come!

As soon as I got my hands on it I realized what they did. Blended some of the best aspects of open world with the original Spiderman trilogy of games. Everything from big boss battles and the we slinging (Spiderman 1-2) to the symbiote suit and Kraven the Hunter (Spiderman 3). It's like Insomniac looked at the best of Spiderman and what makes an open world tick, and crafted a masterpiece

I disagree with the WOW factor, definitely felt like it was there! The initial mission, and certain plot surprises had me grinning like crazy like WHAT! When you play or fight someone and you're like holy crap I didn't think they were gonna put that in the game and the best part was the fact that it wasn't all revealed and there was no spoilers in the marketing. I think because I was trying to do every side activity between each missions when it was available so I didn't rush through the story. I didn't have the issue with slow pacing since it took about 3 and a half days to play instead of like 12 hrs. All the side content adds a lot but I found myself wanting to replay all 3 games afterward. I was crying at times when they had throwbacks to what happened from the last two games. When I was dying in certain boss fights I was like DAMN, and I wanted to try some more. Feels good to be challenged. I saw every little nod and easter eggg especially with hints here and there for the Raimi movies etc. We kinda know whats to come but the best part is seeing it happen and going like no way they didn't just do that! No lie, the soundtrack variation was also really welcome. John Paesano really outdid himself! It was so exciting and breath of fresh air instead of hearing the na na nanana theme for 30 hours straight, we had like drum beats, rock riffs, some like middle eastern pipes and more! They were putting all kinds of new isntruments in there so it wasn't generic. And it switched it up throughout the different story beats as well as stylistically between characters when you were playing! There way more to discuss but I can't wait to see more of what people's interpretations or viewpoints are on things. The writers knocked it out of the park Jon Paquette and all the Marvel/Spidey writers they consulted or had a hand in crafting things was dope. It was like watching an interactive immersive 25 hours movie or tv show. God I just wanna keep playing and enjoying it all. Seeing specific fights between characters had me enjoying the dialogue and i didn't want to beat them too fast before hearing it all. There's still so much they can have whether it's Spidey Verse, Madame Web or whatever! Bring it! The best part was a certain mechanic borrowed from Rachet and Clank: Rift Apart. That was smooth!!!!

I haven't even finished it yet but I absolutely love it so far. I'm already thinking about DLC. Hopefully they release a few like they did for the last one

I wasn't a big fan of Venom in this game but overall excellent Spidey stuff. I like Venom to have a personality. He felt too take over the world villain and Venom has always super personal interactions and conversations with Peter. Felt like that was missing.

Love how you describe the web swinging like it was tony hawk game if only there was a score system, between Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Wonder what good days ahead.

Currently sitting through the first 2hrs so far, absolutely awesome, cant wait to dive into it more since i got the weekend off from work.

I've currently just finished the original again today, loved it all over again so now for a quick playthrough of Miles Morales again and then it's on to the sequel tomorrow! HYPE!!

It is nice when a game gets released and it is actually a finished product, insomniac has fully earned my trust and respect as a game studio

The title screen tells me I’m at 51% percent completion, so I’ve still got some good ways to go, but I just wanted to say the game has been great so far. One thing I love about it is that it’s not only a full sequel to Spider-Man 2018, but also a full sequel to Miles Morales. Both characters get plenty of spotlight and time to shine. I’ve also heard reviewers mention the spectacle of the game, and oh yeah, there have been many instances where I’m just thinking “Oh yeah, Insomniac are just showing off now lol”

I think this game’s side content took a page out of those RGG Studio games and I'm here for it

Nothing is better than finally getting your hands on 19 inches of Venom.

That one reference to the 90s animated Spider-man with Peters personal "neogenic nightmare" was brilliant (trying to avoid spoilers, those who know, know)

The M.J missions honestly didn’t bother me as much this time around due to the fact that every single one of them were involved somehow in the best missions in the game or leading up to them

to fix the web wing issue, insomniac should make it so that if you damage your suit, it also damages the wings and you cannot use it for a specific time, unless you have the symbiote, which would fix the wings automatically. they could make this a feature that you can enable or disable like the fall damage

I love how like in Arkham Knight the situation escalates the further in the story you get like you start off fine everything is in your control then by the midway point it starts to get outta hand and you’re trying to cover up the worry like “nope still cookin we’re all good.” Then by the time end comes around you’re like “I DO NOT have this under control where the hell are the Avengers?!”

Delighted you did another spoiler free review. Im only 10% in. Have mainly been doing side missions. I get what you mean about the web wings. I felt the same about most of the gadgets in the first game. It's cool to have them but im much more interested in the traditonal Spidey webslinging, punching and kicking. Ever so slight spoilers next. . . . . . . I dont dig that Pete has like half reapeated finishers half involing the robo legs and he has a whole moves set based on the legs too. I was hoping for all new finishers, especially seeing all the new ones that modders made on pc, that relied on the regular spidey stuff and i would have prefered the other trigger button was for maybe wwe style moves or finishers that you had more control over. I still love it though with all my moaning

Got it Thursday at 9pm. 100% by Saturday 6am. That includes all suits and colors all zones finished, and of course the game. Only at default difficulty though. To say I was hooked is putting it mildly. I loved this game and want to play it again already. Good story too. I just walked around town admiring the details for a few hours after that. Throwing anything I could at people, just for fun. 😜

I totally agree with the wingsuit. Feels a tad bit too goofy. The first Infamous handled this better, where you could slide on railway tracks to get faster from A to B. It made more sense in the world; was better integrated as a whole.

4 and a half hours left now until it finally drops. I just finished replaying the first one today and I replayed Miles Morales a couple weeks ago so I can’t wait to jump in with everything pretty fresh again.

Love seeing the TASM2 being used, it’s an all time favourite of mine and we waited so long for it! 🤩

I felt as though Peter was extremely nerfed numerous times throughout the story simply to help the plot but it really demeans him as a 10+ year spiderman. I also wish they did more with the symbiote in terms of animations. Swing styles. Walk styles. Dodge animations. Even the basic combo stays the same. Outside of the attack abilities and black webbing there isn’t much to differentiate what is suppose to be the beloved symbiote suit and regular ol spidey. Outside of those minor complaints I find the game to be a masterpiece. I love this and it’s been worth the wait.

I loved the game, the combat is tricky at times, but the power up usage seems like a homage to Ultimate Alliance and X-Men Legends, which UA 1-2 and X Men Legends 1-2 were some.of my favorite games as a kid.

The perfection in the physics was one of my biggest complaints I liked that turning the assist all the way off allows you to make mistakes. Not in some "I like to be challenged", kind of way but in a classic kind of way. I was 9 when I played the GameCube spiderman 2 and you used to constantly smack walls and hit the ground, it reminded me ALOT of that. One thing I still miss is being able to shoot webs while RUNNING and then jump to start a swing, if they add that and web climbing to 3 it'll truly be a perfect trilogy for me. Spiderman 2 improved in small incremental ways that I was not expecting and I truly thank them for that

I liked the web wing, really fun to use, but avoided the wind tunnels because, yeah, he turns into Superman and you can just put the dualsense down and he will fly anyways. But I advise everybody to do the side mission where you have fly behind those bird drones, trust me, the end of that mission is really, REALLY worth it.

Wow I didn't know that spot in F-hills was the name of the place in gta 4 and they look the same that's pretty cool...

we've been trying to find the old Armory/Brewery in Brooklyn. have you been able to find any real life landmarks in the Williamsburg/Brooklyn/Bed-Stuy areas of the game?

I really hope they keep the wing suit the way it is because at the end of the days it’s a CHOICE!. I love swinging just as much as everyone else but I also love exploring and If i’m gonna be playing this game year or 2 from now where I know it like the back of my hand I like having the option to just fuck around and not swing and glide where I want to and pull cool looking tricks with it. I hate it when developers limit a feature after some people are like “uhh well actually i don’t like it because I just want to swing more” so it fucks over those of us who also likes swinging just as much as them but also don’t mind messing around sometimes with a mechanic that’s opposite of the character just to have some fun. So i’m preying they don’t mess with it and actually give us more freedom with it in the next game

I got to play the first couple of hours before bed this evening. I had no notes really on the first one, I'm a Spider-Man obsessive too Jake and you can tell insomniac gets the IP. It's still their story but it feels authentic and not like shitty fan fiction which is what those venom movies feel like to me. Honestly just wanted more Spider-Man and this seems to be it so far

Thoughts on the initial black suit transfer? The events leading up to it were great. But the reveal itself felt kinda lack luster

My favorite references are for big fans they even reference the asm2 game 3 times and the black instead of navy choice for 2099 suit made me happy u know u know

8/10 is a good score for a game like spiderman. only reason i would give it a 9/10 is because of the VRR 120 fps performance mode. but ya, spider man isn't on the same level as GTA or cyberpunk. one thing i dont like about spider man games is the npc's. there's a lot of npc's but i still feel alone. idk why. in gta and cyberpunk, i actually feel immersed with the npc crowd.

I have A Question. When you complete the game, can you change the venom powers into black or will it be white only because of some events happening in the game? I really want to know because I would like to use in free roam when completing the game the black symbiote venom powers and not white

Nice Shirt dude! I'm 40+ and gaming is my life, i lost interest in it in High School days, but what pulled me back is seeing someone playing max payne in PC, and once i saw that MATRIX gameplay, i was pulled back to the gaming world and 30 yrs passed still gaming!! hahah

Disney should definitely consult insomniac for the Spider-Man movies. My only complaint is the regular enemies on the street should not be able to take as much as much damage as they do

I think I’ll have to get this game just to check out the movement system. Didn’t play the previous games, but have watched playthroughs and loved the story, so I am ultra excited!

Have it pre-downloading right now I have to resist the temptation to stay up and play it at midnight because my alarm's going to be going off at 5:30 But I am stoked to spend the weekend swinging around Obviously I have not played it yet but I'm also not necessarily that thrilled about the wingsuit. I think if it was more limited or situational it's a cool idea, but it looks like it basically turns this into Arkham Knight and disincentivizes swinging. Does floating rings to indicate wind tunnels also remind me too much of Superman 64 and look a little immersion breaking I know I know I don't have to use it but it's kind of like when a video game over emphasizes fast travel. You don't have to use it but it is clearly intending for you to use it But I don't think it's going to ruin this game for me or anything, just happens to be the only thing I've seen in previews that doesn't look appealing to me because the rest looks awesome
