@@Mrsplifferdoodle He let a guy get robbed (the robber he let get away was also clearly holding a gun) in this movie. *He wasn't a perfect person.* The fact that he changes for the better after his uncle dies but also struggles with it (Spider-Man 2) is really powerful and part of why he's so many people's favourite Spider-Man. Peter being an asshole repeatedly in comics makes sense I suppose (need lots of new plots to keep making issues), but in movie form, I think this was enough. Spider-Man PS4 is a really good version of the character as well, and his morality doesn't waiver much either.

I did not know that fact about Randy Savage, sort of like a fullcircle thing being the springboard for another spider.

I do love all the goofy lines though. Sam Raimi grew up with the older comics and loved them, so I’m glad he used the goofy dialogue. Really lends itself well capturing that old comic book feel.

That's the thing, he has reasons that none of the movies and games ever explored. J.J isn't just a sleazy lowlife. He has his reasons to hate Spider-man, and he genuinely loves the city and it's people. He can just be an asshole most of the time. Probably one of the only movies to have an acknowledgement of him being a good person.

When the hardy came up with a photo of black spidey attacking (after tobey prove that those pictures were fake ) jameson fired him ( hardy) coz jameson's loyality towards his job and a great character

Maguire and Garflield were fine, but Tom Holland was the Spiderman I was waiting for since I was a kid. Honestly I was kind of hard on the first movies because Maguire wasn't enough like Tom Holland. "Who is this 30 year old dude in highschool with the weird eyes and creepy smile?"

@@razkable Exactly that's what makes Spidey more human and relatable. He is not some alien born with superpowers or a billionaire play boy. He is a nerdy awkward kid who got bullied and struggling to express his feeling to his crush.

Absolutely same! Whatever era it is, the Tobey Maguire Spiderman will forever be the same, and with his comeback in the No Way Home, it is about time that he finally gets the Spiderman 4 that we desperately wait for decades. There are more for Tobey in the MCU. Just imagine if he finally joins the Avengers, there are already references to Dr. Strange in his universe, and so do the other heroes outside of the MCU, it also includes the X-men. Since the Multiverse and their alternate timeline have not been resolved yet, we can have more special cameos for them in the MCU and in the Sony Cinematic Universe.

Maguire looked like he was 27 going on 35 too. I always found the first Spiderman movies hard to watch because of that.

Indeed it is still ranked number one of All-Time. Tobey and the Raimi Films are the Legend like the legend of Muhammad Ali, and will never be surpassed ever.

The first Tobey Maguire Spiderman by itself made more than the first four Marvel movies based on individual box office (iron man 586 Million, Thor 449 million, Incredible hulk 264 million, Captain America: the first Avenger 370 million). I don't understand the disrespect for Tobey when his Spiderman made over a billion dollars in today's money, without the help of Disney and their war chest of cash.

Actually the comic version is better because peter was not a hero from the beginning he was mostly an egocentric jerk and a selfish kid superpowers.That is why his change was so iconic.

@@jjhh320 Not at all. All of Green Goblin's pumpkin bombs do that, basically they are all as powerful as that one you see used on the board members of Oscorp. The thing that people tend to forget to ask themselves is *_who the bombs are used on,_* because when they're used on ordinary human beings they are powerful enough to disintegrate their whole body to the bone, with the bones swiftly crumbling to dust after. BUT when used against a super-human target the pumpkin bombs are not powerful enough to deal as much damage because these people, these powered human beings are much more resistant to pretty much everything in comparison to an ordinary human being. If you rewatch all the scenes where the pumpkins bombs are used on someone you'll see that the only times it doesn't disintegrate the target is when that target is a powered human being. *_*SPOILERS AHEAD DO NOT CONTINUE READING IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE ENTIRE SPIDER-MAN TRILOGY YET SPOILERS AHEAD_** In the 3rd film in the trilogy you can see how Harry got injured after a very close explosion of one the pumpkin bombs, it didn't outright disintegrate/kill him because at the time he had already taken the super soldier formula, so at most it only managed to give him a nasty scar (one good example on just how powerful and resistant to damage Spider-Man is in comparison when both of them had a pumpkin bomb explode so close to their face in a very similar fashion, Spider-Man in the 1st movie and then Harry in the 3rd movie) but there's absolutely no question that the super serum was basically the one thing that saved his life in that moment. Near the end of the movie, you can also witness the effect that the pumpkin bomb had on Eddie Brock Jr. (an otherwise ordinary human being when he's not Venom) when Peter was trying to destroy the Symbiote for good, you'll probably have to pause it a few times or play the scene frame by frame to catch it but the ensuing explosion not only vaporizes the Symbiote but it also disintegrates Eddie Brock Jr. to the bone, just like it did to the board members of Oscorp in the 1st film.

No, the original Spider-Man was the one that existed in the comics for 40 years before this movie.

Another thing a lot of people don't realize is that along with his guilt complex is origin story almost definitely gave him a case of PTSD.
