Its the same struggle for all of us, we all have our inner demons and traumas to contend with, and it can be easy to get lost in them. It take discipline to become stronger.
This was arguably the darkest spiderman game i have ever played the tone and atmosphere felt so dark it felt right we need more games like this for spiderman
+DarknessBringer I recently played it on PC! The game surpsingly aged well for me! The graphics could be better, but the game is just as fun as it was in 2008.
And it ended up trash taking only the basics off this one and none of the great combat like Web Strike or wall combat. SM2 was rushed garbage trying to win everyone over with Venom alone
I remember when I was 8 years old, this was the most dark and depressing (and also best quality) trailer ever. I watched it everyday. I'm 14 now, and it still kinda scares me; and I love it
I had the exact same reaction to it (I'm 17 now). But wow...I was blown away by this trailer. Making spiderman so dark and adding the music to make it so depressing. It is definitely my favorite spiderman game (and I really don't like most of them).
Not gonna lie I would pay a lot of money just to see such a dark Spider-Man game again! The atmosphere, the multiple endings and seeing Spider-Man in such a hopeless and depressed state is simply breathtaking!
Hell I would love to see a darker Spider-Man movie. Well actually I don't want a dark spiderman but the story itself being a little bit more serious and intense. The Spidey movies have actually gone there a few times. I would love to see the difference between Spidey's light-hearted side and the story he is in. Actually Spiderman PS4 is a good example of what I would like to see.
i think the best shot for a dark spiderman story and more serous could be a setting in the noire universe, we could have for example a Kingpin that is the head of a huge alcohol mafia maybe even an apperance of captain america and the redskull with spiderman having to rescue with the help of captain some important character of the story that are locked in extermination camps, (this could be a crossover with xmen and that character that needs to be saved to be magneto), we could have a DR octopus that is forced somehow to work for the redskull on some nazi like woder weapons, all of this while Peter when is not spidy is struggeling in the great depression. to avoid racism problems they could say that in those camps are locked people with special powers that are rejected by society for being different or something like that. the posibilities are endless for a spidy that is not childish
Honestly I think this shook my core as a younger boy seeing this dark desolate version of New York combined with Spider-Mans dialogue about his morals and if he can do this while still being a good guy or if he’ll have to show a darker side to justify the means. Gave him so much character before the game even came out and then the morale system in the game further solidified how important ur take on being Spider-Man really was and the choices between good and bad. To this day nothing has hit harder than seeing Spider-Man with his head down looking at maximum venom, it’s enough to send chills down any Spider-Man fans back, please remaster the game!!
This game was so underrated back then. Just the ability to switch to two different suits with totally different powersets on the fly with the press of a button was amazing during combat. sure, the physics of webslinging was sorta wonky but damn if this wasn't a good game nonetheless. way better than the ASM games we got recently... Hope Spider-Man PS4 can break the status quo on spidey games and make something amazing we can all remember!
It’s so sad cause marvels Spider-Man 2 has 350+ million dollars budget (lmaoo) and is made in modern times but they still haven’t really nailed the gameplay or just the city free roaming feels so empty after you finish the story
When he says "how do I turn back the darkness " and everything that comes after that is just so epic that even after 7 years it gives me chills and makes me so sympathetic towards Spidey!what the heck this game doesn't let me grow up!
^ 0 replay value? I played this game through several times, because it was just magnificent. If you wanted to see the choices you could make, you played it through just to see what they were. This is by far the best Spidey game, and who hasn't wanted to see what it would be like for spidey in a symbiotic zombie outbreak. it was badass and they hinted at making another, at least with the black spiderman ending ( I can't really remember the good ending) and I wish they'd make another, but get carnage in there! or something! I really want a sequel of this game. there's so much potential with spiderman games.. but most fall apart because a lack of imagination. they want to stick to the norm, because its safer.
I maintain my comment--0 replay value! Who tf wants or has ALL THAT TIME to find and refind as many times as you replay it TWO THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SPIDERS!!! No sh*t it's the best spider man game, but it's ruined by the need to refind those spiders to swing far and fast! Did you even read why I said 0 replay value? Is finding and refinding 2300 spiders scattered across all of manhatten a small, timeless thing to you?! 0 Zero replay value.
Like the game or not, this was a superbly well-made trailer - Moonlight Sonata, especially remixing it to make it action-y towards the end, was a unique tonal choice, and some of the shots here are legitimately haunting and almost cinematic, despite the graphics. When the game was coming out this trailer got me about a thousand percent more hyped for it.
what do you mean 'despite the graphics' - the game still looks good especially for a 2008 game but the reason is actually looks very good is because of its art direction
@@gsomslayer I’ve given up at this point. Most people don’t understand that everything they love about the MCU and the games and all… comes directly or is inspired by the comics.
One of the best game trailers i ever seen, really emotional, showing the limit of a super hero, that he was losing everything and he is giving all that he gots to get everyone back to normal and put everything back to normal, i never played this game but holy sh*t, this trailer gives me chills everytime and looks just amazing, and a movie of this? i highly doubt it but it would be like a trilogy or something, it would be the most epic movie ever done
ALSO, who agrees that, when the invasion takes over and it's night time, that the city is so creepy?!?! That background music is unlike anything I've EVER HEARD!!!
Spider-Man PS4: Taught you how to deal with life. Spider-Man: Miles Morales: Taught you how to live fully despite the struggles. Spider-Man: Web of Shadows: Taught you how to fight your own darkness, choosing what's better or what's worse.
CallumBrine This is my top 5 list of spiderman games: 1) Spider-Man WOS and Spider-Man 2(I tied them because I like them both so much) 2) Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions 3) Spider-Man(2000, for PS1 etc.) 4) The Amazing Spider-Man 2 5) Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage (for the Genesis, SNES)
Forever this greatest spider-man classic game I’ve played. This graphics and everything about it was simple and on perfectly point. It’s a shame the a sequel was declined due to leaks. But if they ever remaster this, it would be a blessing.
@@beastmode810ify I could try but there’s no way for me to put it in words… I first played this game when I was 3 years old. And it has been at the top of my Spider-Man games list since then. Call me biased but I love almost everything about this game in fact there’s no other Spider-Man game quite like it. The only games that rival this are Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Spider-Man: Edge of time (unpopular opinion) and Marvels Spider-Man (Insomniac’s) And even with all of those titles I just mentioned, none of them have the articulate combat system this one has and I know it has its flaws but this game is like a brother to me
@@StormzGaming Brooo I have never seen any truer words my guy this game has good bonds with me and I’m very glad I’m not the only one that feels this way. This game gets close to no recognition but for the people that played it, it’s like stumbling upon a gold mine.
Mage Gaming I literally kept count of how many times little 8 year old me beat the game within the year it came out. 7. Treyarch and Activision need to make another Spider-Man WOS game
I'M FROM THE YEAR 203848I4I3 EID-ER. AND I HAVE TRAVELED THROUGH INFINITE WORMHOLES TO VIEW THIS PINNACLE OF SPIDER-MAN. SURPRISINGLY, WE HAVE NOT YET MASTERED THIS LEVEL OF SPIDER AWESOMNESS.
This game was just amazing! Ultra-fun gameplay, I found the story interesting, nice colorful graphics (any spider-man game veteran wouldn't care about this), I found it to be even more fun and nostalgic than spider-man 2! We really need a sequel! D:
I wouldn't say I'm a super spider veteran but I've played the 2001 spiderman game and I watched almost every episode of the 1996 series, so I've lived up to it:)
Still in 2020 from when it was made I was so excited... The gameplay, trailer, cutscenes, choices... All great... It was like a heaven for me who literally read so much comics and played so much Spiderman games... From 5 to 20 years I still love him and watching this beautiful trailer... And to be honest I'm still playing Spiderman web of shadows ... Who's with me??
@@SuperSable that's the kind of guy I like... tbh I was 10 when it came out ... And it cost me 1000 cash in Czech money that's probably 43 dollars 47 USD and it's awesome to see that other people still remembers and plays it :3
@@theclown2664 well... I was new to the Internet at that time and was a spidey fan.... And since I was just 8, the moment I saw the trailer I wanted the game....even though my parents didn't want to buy me this game. But never did I know that this game would become a rare gem that some people would never get to know the value of
it's crazy to think that i remember watching and playing this game when i was 5 years old. i'm 18 now and i still feel that WOS was a very underrated spider-man game. it's not a perfect game, but it deserves way more recognition that it received. definitely up there with the likes of marvel's spider-man, ultimate spider-man, and spider-man 2.
Had to buy this game again for like $100 I'd be so mad if they re released it. I'd also be eternally grateful. One of the best spiderman games of all time. They really need to include the symbiote in the games more.
@@darkvoid515 I bought it from eBay CIB for like 95 plus shipping, a PS3 copy. I noticed the 360 version is significantly cheaper and runs better but I like PS3.
@@Happy_Slappy2_0 Yeah, I seen. I got so excited thinking he was going to be in miles morales and turned out he wasn't. I really can't wait for Spiderman 2 😻
this game should have been a movie i mean is dark, the music makes it feel sad like no hope, spider man is trying to decide between bad and good and its just perfect for a movie the game is good but imagine it on the big screen almost no romance, new York being invaded by symbiotes
Here a week before Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases on PS5. Before it does I want to say Web of Shadows has always been my favorite Spider-Man game. I’d buy a remaster on day one if it happened! I can go on how amazing this game and characters are! A masterpiece!
really, I think the beginning of the trailer pretty much describes spider mans characters, I mean. me is badass and all, but he goes through more battles both physical and mental then any other super hero.
Remember being 8 years old, my older brother and I watching this trailer for the first time. Still remember it to this day. 2008 was a good year, and an amazing game, with an amazing trailer; especially the excitement seeing wolverine venom. Edit: and was kind of weird how back then when games released, this is what graphics looked like. Nowadays things look more hyper realistic; but back then, we were used to graphics looking like this and not looking like real life. And it still looked good. Though back then, this did look really sharp and realistic.
This was my first Xbox 360 game, and is still my favorite Spider-Man game. This trailer actually touches my heart with how much atmosphere it and the game have. I know a sequel was planned, and it ended up getting canceled, which truly breaks my heart...Activision, port this to Next-Gen, or give us a proper sequel. After getting that average Amazing Spider-Man 2 tie-in game, everyone will be eating this up. If you read this, think of us, the Spidey-fans, and we'll love you for it. Please.
One of the most iconic trailers ever! I remember being in elementary school when this was announced and launched. In my head this reminded me of a dark spiderman comic with the original story, characters, theme, and atmosphere. I was hooked on this game since then and still am now as it's one of my favorite games of all time. This game walked so that Spiderman PS4 and Spiderman 2 PS5 could swing. If they ever remaster this game I will forever be happy 🕷
