I had this game back in the day (well, a copy of it), and remember it fondly. I always thought it was a neat concept and remember the Spider being incredibly well animated. Good stuff.
This game was one of my earlier is not my earliest memory of renting a game from the video store. It was one of the very first games I played, if not the first, on my Playstation. Nostalgic
Great review and room setup! I remember renting this game when I was like 12 from my local grocery store and loving it even though I never got past the 2nd boss. Keep up the great work on your channel
This time was special. Games and movies. They all had such a special feel. Either they were totally bloomy optimistic. Or just gritty dirty dark niche stuff like this for special kinds of people. And the way the graphics look and sounddesign is just all so 1995-2005
What unique game at that time... Such a shame this game didn't have a sequel, and didn't become a franchise....Oh and the music, i remember it so dearly, love it....
One of my first playstation games.vwas worried when I looked it up that no one would remember it. I had it when I was just 6. Could never get past the second boss.
I had a 20 years older than me friend that worked on a videogamestore. We changed games, right from the start I noticed on my home, that this game was too hard for me. Before I return his copy, that friend died from a heart attack.... I miss my friend Freco(his nickname)
I played through this as a teen and liked it, but it was quite hard. I remember reading an article about the game that he publishers wanted a mascot like character, and the designer deliberately drew a terrible design for a goofy anthropomorphic spider just to get the publishers to allow them to make something with the realistic looking spider, which was their vision.
Yeah, it's really difficult, I'm not sure I would have had the patience for it back then. Interesting tidbit that I didn't know on it's origins! The realistic spider on the cover is what sold me on the game, would not be the same with some goofy looking mascot like spider.
I found a copy that is available to buy, so i have been contemplating wheatear to get it. Your review has helped me in making that decision, i am going to play it. it looks fun.
I looked up The Unholy War. I actually played that game back in the day. All I remember is that its mediocre tactics game. I much preferred Brigandine.
I remember this being one of those cut rate discount games that wasn't locked in a glass case. Which would lead one to believe this game sucks but it's actually a decent game. It's also aged better than many PS1 games. Because, let's face it,a lot of PS1 games have aged badly
