Nancy I gotta tell you girlfriend, I love you! I love your work! And I really love your videos!!! I am 100% self taught silversmith and most of what I learned was from watching your videos!! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and your beautiful personality!!!
Just what I needed this morning. Was not in a great frame of mind but the beginning of the video made me laugh right out loud. Changed my whole perspective. Thank you. Another wonderful video. Thanx so much for sharing and teaching us. I appreciate you!!!!! Can't wait for the magnetic clasp video. I definitely want to learn that.
Thanks Terry! Glad that laughter hit you over the head today! Laughing is one of my favorite sports because I always feel better afterward and it requires very little physical effort! Ha.
Those beads are really unique and I like them a lot. I'm a lampworker and I'm learning silversmithing.... your beads and funky lampwork beads will go real well together. THANK YOU.
Thank you so much for mentioning the plumb bob. I’ve been pouting for months over how much a small cone-shaped mandrel costs, and now I found a plumb bob for $7! I absolutely believe that having the right tool for the job is worth investment, but when a cheaper tool will do just as well there’s no sense spending five times as much- especially with silver prices where they are right now! Holy crap! Thanks again. I’ve stopped calling myself “entirely self taught” because the truth is people like you are the reason I’ve figured out as much as I have. Thank you for that, seriously.
i miss you nancy! i love a spinner ring & never thought of making a spinner bead. so beautiful. i love your videos. thank you for inspiring me & making me laugh🙃
I love your tutorials Nancy and this is a really fun one. I've been wanting to know how to make something like this. Thanks so much for continuing to share your knowledge. I have non metalsmith question for you about how you shoot your videos. My mom is a colored pencil artist and wants to make videos of her techniques. Do you use a cell phone and do you always have an assistant? If you don't have an assistant, how do you mount it for the point of view? I sent her a link to your videos and told her she needs to come up with a fun intro like yours and she loves your personality.
Hey girl, love your videos! My favorite on this video is the Hybrid, I really like the complete fold over look.......and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with "dropsy"! Do you ever have to pick splinters of wire out of your feet? I know barefoot in the studio isn't a wise idea, but I've been barefoot for 64 years, so I don't see that changing any time soon.....
Nancy, you are an absolute delight, thank you for being so helpful towards us, jewelry enthusiasts. Also so uplifting in these trying times. Which state are you from? Do you offer classes or courses?
I'm in California and I occasionally teach at Chimera Arts in Sebastopol, CA. In fact, I have a class coming up this weekend on making basket settings. At Chimera, we also offer other classes with different teachers, in jewelry making, and a host of other crafts. www.chimeraarts.org/ Thank you!
Sterling silver. But, they could be made with Fine silver, Argentium silver, brass, bronze, copper, even steel. Anything that will take silver or gold solder. Have fun!
@@juliamonroe5536 Just posted a thank you to you in the description. I love finding new tools - especially ones I own! I've been doing some delft casting and that tool, now that I know what it is will be very helpful. This is why I tell people to not buy tools until they know what to do with them! But, I never listen to my own advice. Haha! Thanks again
I drop things too, lots! Sometimes things just fling right out of my hand all on their own ;) I' just beginning my jewellery making journey and wanted to thank you, I'm absolutely in awe of how much of your knowledge you give freely. Much love from England.
Hey Nancy, thanks for this (and other) wonderful videos. Love them and your presentation! I have a question about adding these beautiful beads to a bangle. Once the beads are applied to the bangle and the bangle is soldered closed, how do you confirm the round shape of the bangle on a mandrel? Do you have a video on this? Thanks again!
Always fun and educational! I love watching your videos, ESPECIALLY when you drop things because I do the same thing! Can't seem to hang on to a darn thing! Looking forward to making some beads! Thank you for sharing your expertise and brainstorms!
Have to giggle when you drop stuff! I said to myself.... LOOK! It even happens to Nancy LT! I can’t tell you how many times each day I’m crawling around on the floor. Thanks for the spinner bead video. I just made my first spinner ring so now a bracelet with spinner beads!
