Hello Jen, it has been awhile, but I am so happy to say I am finally feeling much better! Filming an update and a few other ideas coming soon! They are both beautiful spins! The one spun from the ends, I don’t see it as “muddy”. It has a kind of “glow” to it that the other doesn’t. The one spun from the fold just has more “pop”.
Thanks for this video. I might give this technique a go now I can see a practical application. This was really informative.i cake upon your channel when you scoured a fleece. I'm really interested in fibre prep and combining alpaca and mohair just because I have these 2 breeds. Early days but any fibre content and spinning you can show us would be very welcome. This was so enlightening! I have never spun from the fold and I've been spinning for at least 14 yrs. I will definitely begin doing it now. I really like the results. Thank you so much. Blessings.
I really enjoyed this comparison. I've just spun up 8 ounces of Bambino "Hickory Dickory" from the fold and am knitting it into socks. I figured spinning from the end would muddy the colours. But I'm amused...the dye lot I received had a LOT more pink in it than yours!
