@@JudyRichards-u4othen why you're here? I swear people just love hating and complaining.. well it's not anyone's fault that you volunteered to watch this video on your own, you even decided to take your time to comment on it
If those aren't english cucumbers, I'd recommend giving it a go with those instead of the normal, thick skinned ones. Sometimes called hothouse cucumbers, they have a thinner and less bitter skin.
For anyone wondering here's the recipe: - cut cucumbers diagonally on one side and horizontally on the other - sprinkle salt all over and in between the cuts of the cucumbers - rinse off cucumbers with water Then add: - minced garlic - sliced onion - soy sauce - gochugaru (a Korean chili powder) - sesame oil - rice vinegar - brown sugar - sesame seeds Mix and enjoy! I made this and it was delicious. 10/10 🙌
@@marinatedbeef1683 I'm not forgetting, she just didn't say. The only measurement she did specify was two tablespoons of gochugaru. This is a recipe that can easily be adjusted to your liking and doesn't have certain amounts of ingredients. Every version of this dish is different based off the persons preference so just add what you want. If you really want exact amounts then try looking up a recipe :)
The spirals are def fun but my mom just slices the cucumbers straight across and all the way through (ie into singular pieces), and tosses them with the other ingredients! Delicious recipe! :)
I love it. I make it all the time. I recommend making the sauce/dressing separately, taste test, then add to the cucumber and onion. I also like it better the next day. It stays crunchy but has marinated.
@@lifeiseverything9 - Absolutely, my pleasure. Since you haven't had it before, just want to mention Gochugaru comes in different heat levels, from mild to extra spicy, so be sure you get the right spice level for you. I've accidentally just grabbed a bag without checking, and the extra hot level was too much for me! It's not bad if you decrease the amount, but if you're following a recipe and you accidentally have the extra spicy, it might be too much heat. Good luck!
This recipe is bomb. I tried it, served it to my Pakistani family with Pakistani food and it somehow complimented all the spicy food and everyone enjoyed it.
Wow! These comments can be so ridiculous & mean… instead of dissing her keep on scrolling! Trolls everywhere. If you don’t like what she’s doing on HER content, or how much makeup she’s wearing go away and find something YOU like!! #losers #karenseverywhere

@@naintarabatool1150 1 to obviously remove the water, 2 to season them, 3 so that the cucumbers can absorb the sauce. The sauce takes the spots inside the cucumber where the water originally was
I couldn't even cut the cucumbers without them breaking apart lol. Job well done to you. I want to try this so bad but no way would it turn out like this!
@romansworld You got this baby. Try, again and again, and then try again. Before you know it, wala, it will turn out just the way you want it. You can do it.
That looks absolutely amazing and delicious, I'd love to have a go at making that, thank you so much for sharing this lot's of love from Carol in Nottingham UK xx ❤ p.s please can I have the exact recipe xx
once you have the cucumber prepared you put: - minced garlic - sliced onion - soy sauce -gochugaru (or just chili powder) - sesame oil - rice vinegar - brown sugar - sesame seeds
Oh my goodness I am so hungry for this right now ...Definitely making a trip to the nearest Asian market (Smiles) ...This looks like a great dish for losing weight Thank You for all your videos ...Love them all ...
About the sesame oil by you putting it on your food I had to try your recipe because I already have sesame seeds but I bought it the oil and it tastes like peanut butter like that is so nasty 🤢💯 but I didn't add no brown sugar to it so maybe that will help but sesame oil was the worst that made my veggies tastes completely different and through everything off course fr 🤣 I hate vinegar but I would rather my veggies tasted more like vinegar than peanuts 🥜🤢🤔 Asian food definitely not American! It have a different type of monkey taste to it 😂🤣
I just did this, and it was delicious! Just next time, I won't add the salt to the cucumbers at the beginning. No matter how many times I rinsted, it was still salty. And texture, it wasn't fresh and crispy anymore.
I mean I guess just leave it out or use a different dressing? But it doesn't really look like all that much sugar compared to the size of the salad. A lot of Asian dressings and sauces have some sort of sweetener in it
Has anyone tried a brown sugar substitute instead of real brown sugar? There’s too much sugar content with the rice wine vinegar so I wouldn’t call this healthy- maybe authentic but too sweet 😬

This cucumber salad always looks so refreshing/appealing but I’m always running into the standard larger cucumbers. Does anyone know the name of these smaller cucumbers so I know what to ask for? Thanks 😊
I found them at trader Joe's, Asian grocery stores, and food world . Some are called Persian cucumbers. Sometimes Walmart has them , but they're either from Mexico or Canada.
In Canada we got those small cucumbers called "Concombre Libanais" in french. The exact translation would be Lebanese cucumber but I don't know about anywhere else in the world
Do u need to first put the cucumber into some water so it comes soft? Cuz I tried and it came out hard and I pulled it gently and it ripped of pls help
