Praise God....we no longer belong to the flesh ,we belong to Christ...

One big aspect of being in the flesh not mentioned here, is not just how our state is of suffering and death - but also how we no longer live according to the desires of the flesh (as St Paul and Christ referenced, the flesh "warreth" against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh.

I don't see how this works. 8:10 says the soma is dead. That can't be referring to the physical body, contra Pitre.

All this is among the twisted things Paul said would be spoken by people wanting to have a following. Nothing makes sense. Acts 20:29 I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, 30 and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.

All sin, bar none, comes straight out of the spirit, for it is the spirit that sins; whereas the flesh is mere matter, and has no free-will of its own, so it cannot sin; but free-will is an ingredient of the spirit, so the spirit sins... and sin is therefore the product of all spirits, without exception, thus including God Himself for even existing as a spirit. Christ as a man, and thus matter, and thus flesh, was upright therefore, as matter, and thus flesh, is innocent by its very nature, no matter what, but the sins always come out of the spirit, meaning the will, so all spirits are to be automatically believed to be intrinsically evil by their very and mere existence as spirits.
