Spiritual Dimensions of Narcissism: Fear and Persecuting Others (Part 4)

I needed to hear this right now. Just yesterday I noted in my diary that I was feeling very negative about some people I know, that I realized I was starting to see others as a threat and that it might be more to do with my level of stress and fear at the moment. What you’ve said here had helped me pull back and identify some of what’s been going on in my mind. This fear based thinking is a bad habit of mine, I need a reminder every so often.

This is so needed right now across the whole world but especially in America.

I got to say: as a christian catholic i have never experienced this kind of healing from any of my spiritual leaders. Abdul Saad, sincerely, this video speaks to me on a whole other level. It is like one of the gospels. We can only find a way to love others through our own willingness for introspection and becoming aware of our own flaws and making that sacrifice - a living sacrifice - to become one with God. Humility and Judgement of oneself is the way to Love. That is why God is a Saviour AND a Judge and it is though this way we can find redemption and be truely free.

Dr. Saad! Again, I can’t thank you enough for this series. It’s absolutely brilliant. As I mentioned before, I’m an empath who also falls into the “infj” mbti personality code. I discovered this late in life. As a result I’ve suffered much because of it. I’m not saying this out of pity because it is what it is. My personality type can be a blessing and a curse. But I did not understand why, so often, I was a target of bullying. I do not profess to be perfect so there are many things I have brought upon myself. Nonetheless, because I manifest as being very different, the bullying and the persecution comes along with this. I’ve tried to fit in but I only betray my authentic self. Let’s just say I will never do it again. This series on spirituality in narcissism is soooo very helpful!! I want to stay grounded in my spirituality. This segment helps me to understand why so much persecution. It has also helped me to be forgiving but not tolerant of the narcissistic behavior and makes me more aware to be on guard against my own tendencies toward narcissism. I can say, that the therapy I’ve received from your videos are teaching me to ground and love my authentic self…not in an egotistical way…and to use the gift I have which comes from my God to continue to help others who appreciate who and what I am.

Wow amazing. If we worship what they worship they will love us. But deep down they know it's wrong but their arrogance will never admit it. So in reality they hate everyone because they wish everyone to be worse than them. And those who follow the true path should never please the narcissists. The truth should never be hidden. It can only be hidden on a individual level by arrogance. When they see someone righteous they wish evil upon him. This is my take on it. They don't wish us success ever. Euphoria hits them when we obey them. So never obey them and stick to the truth, that's my take on it.

I think this is one of your best talks ever. You say a lot of what been thinking only you put the whole picture and contents into a most interesting scenario. Just a very enjoyable talk about life. Many blessings to you especially of healthfulness.

I fear that I’m going to have rigidly held beliefs about narcissism. Seems when I try to prevent myself from going down that rabbit hole, I swing to empathy (their pain, the misery it must be living as they do, etc). Challenging to find the balance between maintaining empathy yet keeping these type people at a distance.

I feel for them i really do. But that doesnt mean i tolerate them. So much for this narcissist extricating themselves from fear. Their whole life and mentality runs on it to this day. Thanks for the great video, Dr Saad. As the world becomes more secular and abandons the custodian doctrines of grace, mercy and forgiveness it sets up it's own religious lines and demands conformity. Veer from that path and you'll be punished.

Sometimes a deep hurt and suffering put on a person can cause that person such heartache that it last for some years and creates a withdrawing from all society and a deep soul search for basic meaning and desire for understanding the reason people do this to each other especially from those they so deeply love.

Dr. I have to admit that I fought and fought my own mind and ego when I first heard you talk about Covert Narcissists I finally 100% agree and can admit that I am... It’s changed my life.. for the better Not because I have done right but because I can now have a basis for change as opposed to all the videos I have seen that have even more enhanced this false grandiose facade that I have been holding onto for so long.. I carried this character inside me, it was showing itself as symptoms of ocd(my ocd is a cult leader as i see it) after abuse, it was telling me I am impure and it took a new topic everytime but the theme was very much like those who had malignant narcissistic traits and I convinced myself I deserved no better until yesterday I was made aware of my big mistake, I have been following Jesus and he helps me so much towards the truth and after so many months I watched Dr Abdul's channel and it all makes some sense now

Oh, Dr. Saad, your work is a light of self-awareness and profound self-understanding. I'm revisiting each of these videos as I dive deeper into what I can observe about my own unhealthy/narcissistic behaviors. I am a better, happier person. Something I've said about the malignant narcissists in my life is that they hold a mirror outwards for the world to see what's wrong with itself. I've always wondered why they never seem to turn the mirror around to look at themselves...it's challenging to see my victim patterns without blaming those who victimized me - challenging but extremely necessary for me to heal and release. For one and a half years now I have felt somewhat isolated in what I see as a moderate middle ground between two more and more dogmatic attitudes towards the pandemic. I hadn`t yet seen it as manifestations of narcissism but I definitely see the point now.

The American Indians described narcissism as well as the DSM. And they also recognized this was a psycho-spiritual disease, most of the people conquering people had at the time (they still do). But check it out, it could really show you that you are really regurgitating info and maybe you can build something new upon that!!! I guess in Australian, words are defined differrently than in the US. not that this advice is not good, but it has no central understanding that I can perceive.

Well yeah quite right. But: I am very far from forgiving my family members for their wounding and disorienting behavior towards me. Now that I have finally found the root cause of the numerous difficulties I faced, mainly in the domain of close relationships and personal health, I cannot forgive them. To forgive is to forget. No way shall I go back to the old ways with those people. I do not trust that I Will be able to find proper therapy. That would be as if to expect a lottery jackpot. Our health system simply is not designed and organized in this way. And who other than the rich CAN afford to pay for therapy. So in summary: healing the wounds for me seems like a fatamorgana. I will continue to strive however.
