A fantastic choice of subject and a beautifully looking build. I’m personally looking forward to seeing this particular aircraft in October. When I will be attending the Warbirds Downunder Airshow, held in Temora, New South Wales. Keep these fantastic videos coming and thank you for sharing your beautiful builds. Kindest Regards and Respect.

Very nice! I made the same kit but the wash reacted with the varnish and messed everything up. You on the other hand did this plane justice. It looks just like the real thing

The kit was a present from my daughter. Originally, I wanted to build the brown camo. Later I went to a local airshow and saw her. It was love at first sight ☺️

Stunning build mate! I'm lucky that the real thing is only a two hour drive away from me in Temora. Can I ask what colour you used for the cockpit? I typically use Vallejo Model Air. I'm yet to settle on a spit interior green. Keep up the good work and thanks! Ryan

Hi, Thanks for your kind words. I used Tamiya XF-71 for the cockpit. I like it because it has a nice green tone and with brown and dark grey washes it gives a nice cockpit tone. Please check the cockpit video on my channel and you'll see how I built it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ILx5pr549Vg.html

Nice build. Thanks for sharing! Just one note, your tabs on your flight controls are deflected in the wrong direction. A tab goes in the opposite direction to that of the surface it is on.
@johnmclean6498
@johnmclean6498 3 года назад
The trim tab can be set anywhere from the cockpit - in this case a few degrees nose up. The elevators naturally "fall" to this position when the stick is let go. Look at any parked Spit. Therefore correct. The trim tabs only change when the trim wheel is moved in the cockpit.

Wow- absolutely stunning. I have this model yet to build. Can I ask what size (mm) airbrush and what pressure you run please. Personally I think this is the best looking Merlin model and you have made it look like the real Aussie machine ( There is a grey Nurse Mk VIII at Temora NSW, Australia)
@cslvisualstudio
@cslvisualstudio 2 года назад
Thanks for your kind words. I use two airbrushes from Sparmax. The 0.3 one is suitable for general purposes, the 0.2 is for precise works. Unfortunately, I can't tell you the pressure setting because there is no pressure gauge on my compressor. I know that OZZY beauty from Temora, she was my inspiration for this build. Stay tuned I'm working on interesting stuff... :-)
@johnmclean6498

Great build - meticulously done. Cockpit was extra good and the framing set it off nicely. I, too, think weathering and chipping can be overdone. Subtlety here! I do like lots of white petrol oxide aft of the exhausts, which built up on "busy" aircraft.

A very nice build and nice subtle weathering. I must try an Eduard kit- I recently built the Tamiya Mk1 Spitfire (I built it as the recently restored N3200, which I had the opportunity of sitting in) and thought it was the best engineered kit I've ever done, so it would be interesting to compare the two.
@cslvisualstudio

Thx for your kind words. This was the best kit I've ever built. No problems at all. Is the N3200 the MK.I in Doxford?
@ianthomson9363
