@Ale because it's in effective... it takes a lot of gas (vessle takes 225) and time + great risk in pro matches. And you need to mass produce ghosts inorder to be effective + furtive movement. Just goliaths are way better because it's factory unit,cheap, highest air attack damage in terran, it's just perfect counter unit for carriers.
@Prometheus4096 that's debatable. Zergs need to have a consistent muta micro to hold mm armies at bay, continually unburrow and re burrow lurkers, maintaining swarms while trying not to get defilers sniped while sniping vessels with scourges. Also have to be careful not to send everything in single file ad keep everything as spread out as possible.
storks main weakness was his economy. he needed just one more base, and he could have won the game. the reason for his transistion into a pure ht army, was the fact that gas is unlimited in sc (not in sc2) and minerals come at a price.
@Prometheus4096 i think you'll find a lot of people (including myself) who believe exactly the opposite..... Defilers are imbalanced? so your saying zerg without defilers is balanced to a Terran army in the late game? defilers are just equalizers.. and the fact that they are so high tech means that so many tvz games end before they are even gotten. There's a reason why 4/5 of the most dominant players in history are Terran...
You can't go stargate tech like that cuz you can't counter against mines in early game. Getting observers is a must. Even if you survive to the midgame, you will definitely need multiple corsairs to effectively execute what you say, but that will mean less number of goons to back up. I am not trying to bash you, but am simply pointing out that your plan just doesn't work in the pro level. I indeed recall one game where a plan similar to yours was carried out against flash, only to fail miserably
@AJashaman I think he just means that it's much easier to keep your money spent once you start making ultralisks. And I agree that 9-pool or lurker drop is usually a bad strat in progames - but they are good strats against D+ players like me. I think his definition of "gosu" is from a foreigner bnet/Iccup perspective rather than progame.

I'll just say that among top level players, you rarely see lurker drops/ 9 pools that are actually sucessful (not saying it doesnt happen). Im not sure what you mean by not needing to macro once z hits ultras though..
there is a reason you shouldn't use carriers against Flash: He is no.1!! and in all the games I've watched I have NEVER seen him lose to a Toss player who goes for carriers... If anyone does know of a game let me know...
@Rav3n4 And Heartbreak Ridge as well. Carriers, gas steal, all this kind of stuff. Seems that at this point Stork is in a very bad shape. Still, the game was pretty even for a long. I guess, P slightly > T.
GOD YES! Carrier user goes down WOT! on iccup and in sc generally carriers are such a pain in all mu's the damage they inflict is just imba! well my opinion anyone with me on that fact? ;P
Bullshit... that was anything but a practice for him. Had stork been in a better position to take down some of those top expansions, it could have been a complete different game. And fyi: it's spelled "invincible". Kthx.
Actually you can get corsairs very fast. I think reaver drop is the best opener against Terran but full tech isn't that hard if you're not spending all your gas on carriers. I can get full tech in like 16-20 minutes I'm sure pros can do better. Reaver drops/zealot bombs with corsair d-web is very effective against mid game tank lines before you even get a templar archives. Just remember to get the beacon before the archives and go stargate before citadel. Late game you need Arbiter/Dark Archon.
You're not even paying attention to Stork's terrible build and lack of use of abilities. No Arbiter, no corsair, didn't use shuttles to escort carriers. Carriers alone suck. They need escorts. Scuttle in templar and reaver against mass goliath. Arbiters. Stasis field. Most importantly. CORSAIRS WITH DISRUPTION WEB! if you have the beacon, get it vs terran. You'll always need it!
Flash looks good bcoz he's playing a noob protoss player! Attack the base with your carriers not the goliaths. Your Dragons and zealots are suppose to delay the seige tanks to your bases. Roam your carriers harassing bases, and fight in the map where your carrir has the advantage like spaces where goliaths can't reach.
Why the fuck they never destroy factories, flash always goes for your core weakness... you must stop his production when you are up to, like he was with carriers upon him
haha u comment nonsense, the pro game don't play like this. Every move and economy is count to every cent and seconds. Stork lost due to poorer control, with little advantage a pro will overrun another easily and make the other one look nub. In fact stork lifetime record is like 9-12 of flash.

The easy response to that TRN combo is corsair/arbiter/zealot/templar for hallucinate not storm. Hallucinate arbiters, send in with sairs. Disruption web tank lines/stasis gols and tanks. Send in speedlots. Without the abilities disruption web and stasis field protoss cannot beat terran mech without major losses.
I love to see stupid toss players who don't have enough skills to control a regular army and default to pressing C every 4 minutes, and then still get owned by superior micro and multitasking. Stork, lose. Lose everyday.
carriers suck. Overrated, too expensive. Only good against computers and noobs. The masterful protoss player rarely needs more than a couple carriers, in my opinion.
Flash needed science vessels badly. Stork's entire build was horrible, going carriers like a total nub. It's so easy to respond to carriers. Protoss only path to victory vs Terran is disruption web and stasis field unless they are using infantry. Then you use psionic storm like you would vs zerg.
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Yes what you say will work in your imagination but simply is not feasible. Are you even aware of how tight these games are played in the pro level? You cannot tech up and produce every type of unit you say here. Carriers + web corsairs + arbiter stasis + templar hallucination? Ha, good luck with that. You will get destroyed before having half of those units produced.
