C'mon there...a Splake has single rows of teeth, upper and lower (inherited from the lake Trout), while Brook Trout have multiple rows...That's the easiest way to tell...
Thanks. Great identification tips. My husband caught what he thought were three lake trout (all ~16"); we now know they were splake! Good eating (but I still like bass better).
