The giant model issue also applies to DJ Octavio in both Splatoon 1 and 2. He’s smaller than the player, yet is, like, twice the size during the bossfight. I think it’s a visual choice to make the actual boss character more visible during the fight.

It’s definitely longer than a year, there’s no way they weren’t working on this when the game came out. Also the repeated use of objectives and maps definitely sped along development as opposed to handcrafting dozens of levels

I expected it to happen too, but not as the first boss and I thought she’d be the ultimate villain, which would’ve broke my heart.

I never noticed that,it reminds me of the background elements in octo expansion,mainly because of the Nintendo consoles you would see

​@@melonoshithat doesn't matter. There are still people out there who haven't played this DLC yet. And those that wish to play it without anyone having knowledge of what happened in their experience.

This was the coolest part to me. It's sort of like how I expected callie in splatoon 2's singleplayer to look. but... yeah, for a mode built around being replayed, this feels very empty. That's easy to excuse with "the theme is order...", but I feel like the music could've been a lot punchier at least. I don't know, I feel like there are cooler ways to take "yearning for life to never change & getting stuck in the mundanity of order vs accepting chaos and looking forward with hope even if it means being uncertain", this was a bit of a let down.

Considering the hidden scrolls from the first game with their dark implications in all 3 games, the first dlc being dark as visibly noticable with the main characters almost getting splitzed into juice, and the third game also implying an end of the world scenario with MR Grizz that they actively animated a you lose scene showing that end result... Add that all in with the horrors of the great turf wars and implied genocides in it, and trust me. its always been sad and unfortunate, they've just started to bring it a bit more forward as the playerbase has focused on it quite a bit.
