What does the Gipper one mean? The jokes aside, I miss this voice of Grimm. She sounds tto have more personality here, though her design in Conviction is better for me than in CT.
Reagan was an actor before he got into presidency and played the role of George gipp (a college football player in the 1910-1920’s) he played the role and the movie (Knute Rockne, All American) came out in 1940. I assume it was a hit but idk I’m practically a baby when compared to the age of the movie. Apparently Sam likes the black and white movies which isn’t surprising.
This is a reference that outdates most folks. It's from a 1940 film about a college football player. Sam being as old as he is in the mid 2000's, he would have been just old enough to pick up a reference like this.
To be fair, Grimm's voice and design are the same for the first 3 games. She was an awesome support character just for the help she provided on these missions. Nothing was as good at stealth as the pre-Conviction Splinter Cell games.

I miss being younger than the “young hot shot” side characters that were in basically every game of this era. I identify a lot more with Sam these days

The original Xbox (and the 360 fat version too) had a wifi adapter accessory you could buy for the few people who had it. It was around 2010 when most houses had wi-fi.
HSI or “high speed internet” was first introduced in 2003 and started out with dial up circuits and put out a whopping half a megabit download speeds. The world of internet/wifi has evolved completely since then I’m now installing 2 gig fiber circuits.
I had to look up the win it for the gipper one and the speed he made the connection of Regan, the movie, the situation at hand, and the famous quote shows his mental prowess more than any spy mission.
damn i had to play this my first time when i was 6,and now i am 14 and i still play it on pc,ps2 and mobile so yeah its my favourite splinter cell game
Agreed, they should have brought some Shadownet as the new protagonist. Sam does technically have Lambert's role at Echelon now, but also he's somehow his own field agent so Grim ends up doing everything, which doesn't make much sense. Not that it matters since they've clearly forgotten about the franchise though.
Splinter Cell, by far, is my favorite video game of all time. Rumors keep swirling that there going to remake the first game on the PS4/5 platform. Does ANYONE here have any updates on this new game or others in the future?
I don't think the game will be released any time soon. 12 job offers were spotted on the Ubisoft website. And they were all dedicated to the complete redesign. They included important positions in game development, such as gameplay animator or narrative designer. You'll just have to be patient. If you look at the jobs on offer, you'll quickly realize that this Splinter Cell project has a long way to go before it's completed. My money's on 2025
@QuantumProtocol Ty for the update, friend. I'm just flabbergasted at the fact that the SPLINTER CELL SERIES is one of the top selling of all-time video games in history. Why has UBISOFT dropped the ball on one of thier all time best selling franchises? SPLINTER CELL has a devoted fan base eagerly waiting for a new game. Why is it taking this long? Just sad.
@@FraziorONEhonestly, I’d rather another company than Ubisoft took the mantle. Ubisoft is only butchering games nowadays, soulless, heartless copy paste à la far cry and AC. The days when ubi knew what they were doing is far behind… Splinter cell blacklist is the perfect example of why I don’t want Ubisoft to be in charge of another splinter cell (it wasn’t horrendous, it was still an ok game but not a splinter cell game).
@Bruno-lr9lm I truly feel what you're saying. But UBISOFT exclusively owns it all. Unless another company blows them out of the water with an incredible $ offer. They won't sell. I actually liked BLACKLIST a lot. The only thing I didn't like about that game was the gameplay in how Sam moved. He moved a little too fast & not stealthy enough. BLACKLIST was made in 2013. We are now 11 years since a new game has been made. What I just don't understand, from a UBISOFT perspective is that this game was one the franchises that put you on the map, sold well, a loyal fan base, a great gaming experience. Why forget the loyal fans (us) that are STARVING for a new game! It's a real shame.
@@FraziorONE I get you. Blacklist made me fear for the future since they seemed to part away from the stealth and go more towards action, which isn’t splinter cell enough for me but, just my opinion.
