Zooming in on the Basic Heel-Toe Split from which all other split variations derive, in terms of safe and effective skill development.
Done incorrectly, it can cause serious harm and effectively cut your sk8 time short, permanently. When you have hypermobility issues in the kneejoint, please pay extra attention and seek out good information, providing you intelligent and safe instruction.
Splits on skates are cool and joyful, but you want to learn and do it safely and not pay the price for it, with painful irreversibel injuries!

Thanks for going into such detail. I had no idea that pulling the toes up as far as possible is crucial. Love the sweatshirt, btw!

OK..... you brought up something very important....POSTURE...... it's something I recently became conscious of..... watching KidsRollPower, your videos and then, YIKES -- myself in a mirror for the first time -- I noted my posture... NOT GOOD ....bent forward on many of the difficult moves....auch !!!!! Referring back to a previous video of yours - Razen Riff ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-84tZj39wOas.html) I particularly noted my posture flaws when learning the Flair....if my posture was wrong ( bent forward) I was going to kiss the floor....Further while watching your students....their posture is NEVER hunch over -- but straight up.... and that adds sooooo much visually & most importantly provides the foundation for balance and transitions. Enjoyed this lesson very much - I probably watch a single video a millionzillon times.... then practice and practice and drill and drill and then back to the video.....and back to practicing....presently getting familiar w/ my new DIY skate floor.... taking what I've learned on the street, and correcting now that I have a wood floor and mirror.....my next goal to be able to do these moves while holding a ball -- something I picked up from one of your vids to promote balance and posture.

Hi Brian. Could you please let me know exactly what skate plates are you using. I can’t seem to find those with a close wheel base like yours. I believe those would improve my skate moves. Great videos keep the skate nation strong. THANKS

Really enjoy your videos! As a street skater do you use toe stops outside? I noticed you and your students do not have toe stops on their skates inside.

Thank you for this educational and entertaining video Brian. Does leaning too far forward cause lower back pain?
@BFunkphenomenon
@BFunkphenomenon 2 года назад
Thank you! Leaning forward too much, can provoke lower back issues, from arching the back (hollow). Taking a 'backseat' and engaging the core and buttocks will counter this situation.
