Frustrated by years and years of digging your nails in or forcing hooks in between Split Rings because the Gape on your Split Ring is never big enough, or the Split Ring flip flops about while you trying to assemble your lure. Annoyed by damaging and scratching your Splits Rings or surface coatings on your Split Rings, with a sharp gouging edge of a 2 dimensional triangle or Longnose Pliers serrations. Let me introduce you to our very own designed and patented Split Ring Pliers also called a Split Ring Tool. Starting off with a 3 Dimensional Nose Cone Detail. This allows for rigid work holding in our case a Split Ring, the Split Ring does not flip flop about. Optional 2 Stage functionality, including micro adjustment for controlled movement and controlled sizing of your Gape. Need that extra Gape? Well just give the Split Ring Pliers and the Split Ring a Twist in the optional 2nd stage adjustment. Toit Split Ring Tool comes in 3 sizes Small, Medium and Large. Made from a Stainless Steel 410 J1 Forging. Life is simple if you can open a Split Ring with ease. Split Ring size chart below, find out which size tool you require on your Split Ring.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ABOUT TOIT FISHING ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Fishing has been an integral part of my life since the age of six. From the early days of riding my BMX bike with all my kit down to our local fishing spot, to nowadays where I find myself daydreaming far too much about the next fishing trip with friends. I want to pass on to any child, teenager, or adult something that I have designed, learned, improved on or seen someone else do. This is the side I love about fishing - the learning, questioning the boundaries, maybe improving then teaching or passing on. At my core I am a fisherman, love the bite especially when it’s on, but right next to that is this desire to meet, talk and see what other fisherman are doing that is different to what I know.

So...as an enthusiastic SPJ angler I have bought and used literally every single split ring plier you can buy anywhere in the world. They are not all created equal. But this is among the best. I tried this tool at Capt. Ricky 'Pickle' Frank's recommendation. You have a tremendous amount of control on a very wide range of split ring sizes. This tool is especially useful for difficult split rings like the Owners that are very strong but will bend out fairly easily if you open them too far. Size S is perfect for SPJ. Highly recommended tool!

Hey Falconer Custom Rods. I really appreciate you taking the time to review my Split Ring Pliers. Control is definitely the secret sauce, fine adjustment and being able to control the amount of gape you need for specific hooks.#, whilst in the same breath understanding the limitations on how much these split rings of various brands can open before they distort beyond the memory of the Steel/Stainless they were made from in the 1st place. Tightlines and hope you get many good years use from your tools.

Your enthusiasm in your product is second to none. I would invest in them, I can't find out the price on the website but they look expensive and I've a feeling that my pension wouldn't allow me, so not to risk disappointment I haven't made the purchase. They look the Duck's Nuts that's for sure so I'll have to drop hints to my family 🤣😂🤣🤣😃😂😃🤣🤣😂😂 Take care my friend 👍😷👍

Will the small work on #2 split rings?
@toitfishing
@toitfishing 2 года назад
Hi Mr Rutten thank for the great question, I am currently developing a micro tool for these size split rings. The small will open it but the tool will not work properly on some split rings size 2 as the wire diameter is too small, others it will be fine. Tightlines.

How are the pliers themselves at not rusting? I want a no-nonsense set that I can leave on the boat and not have them seize up.
@toitfishing
@toitfishing 2 года назад
Hi Gaijin, thanks for reaching out. The pliers are made from a 400 series Stainless Steel, spec 410J1 to be exact. Pliers have to be made from a higher carbon content Stainless Steel and a Stainless that can be hardened and tempered. This is to ensure the pliers do not deform or flatten in your hand when you apply pressure and the working surfaces(cones in this case) are hardened to prevent bending and wear and tear especially opening split rings. 300 Series Stainless steels like those used in common kitchen utensils are typically 304 stainless. This Stainless Steel cannot be hardened due to the high concentrations of Chromium and Nickel, thus it stays in the austenite phase, meaning it will remain soft and the material will always bend, bit like your teaspoon at home. These high chromium/nickel stainless steels are great for corrosion but unfortunately will never have the back bone for any pliers type tools. So this is the dilemma for fisherman the most important feature is that the pliers does what it sais it will do, in this example open split rings and not bend or deform when used but sea fisherman like stuff that doesn't rust(iron oxide), as washing and taking care of hand tools are often never even considered on fishing trips, I include myself in that :). So yes these tools will rust very slightly if they are neglected and left on a boat for long periods without being looked after. Our tools have roughly a 12% Chromium content to aid with rust corrosion, they also have highly polished surfaces and have been passivated to remove all the free irons from the surface of the metal and they have a blue PVD coating on which helps also, and for $30 its a really great product. If you are wanting to spend around $150, I would look for tools stating specifically 17-4 Stainless Steel this is probably the best in my opinion for Stainless Steel on pliers type tool, with 17% Chromium and can be hardened also. Otherwise your best bet would be a Titanium Pliers but make sure you are buying a Grade 5 Titanium, Many Titanium alloys can suffer from pitting in a marine environment a good pair of Grade 5 Titanium Pliers should set you back $380. Apologies for the long response but I am sure many anglers will ask me the same question, and hopefully this will help others also. Tightlines and if you do decide to support Toit Fishing and buy a Split Ring Pliers, Thank you.

@@toitfishing Thanks for the excellent explanation! I ordered the small and medium pliers and will just make sure to give them a good rinse and spray them with a light oil coating to keep them fresh. Being in Japan, I'm well aware of high carbon steel since all my knives are super hard and high quality but a drop of salt water will have them rusting by the time I get back to the house. I long for the day when we have quality steel that doesn't rust but that's kind of an oxymoron. Thanks again. Can't wait to try these out on my next fishing trip!
@toitfishing
@toitfishing 2 года назад
@@gaijinfishing you are welcome, oxymoron indeed. My ambassador Ricky Frank, is a charter boat captain who runs out of Palm Beach inlet South Florida. He does a lot of my hands on testing. One of his favourite tools is the side cutters which he actually use on braid. Although they are not designed for braid the pair he has, has been “on the boat” for well over a year now with no maintenance at all, it’s still cuts all his braid, wire and mono which is incredible considering how many clients they take out daily. Exceptional really if you think about it. Although I never designed or intended them to cut braid they have not let him down yet. But more importantly from your original question, they still work as they did from day dot and they have minor corrosion on and he assured me they never been cleaned or oiled once. I do keep reminding him Tho.:) PS if you do get a pair of cutters that are 100% perfectly ground and able to cut braid, you may have a perfect cutters for a long long time. Although I would always recommend a shearing type tool for braid. Our side cutters is designed predominantly for stainless wire. Thanks again for supporting the brand, we have a good sizing chart on our website if required. PS yes I also dread sharpening my 300 series stainless steel knives every 2 minutes cause the edge went again.🤣😂

Buy once, cry once. If you use heavy duty split rings and change them often for things like jigging for bluefin & yellowfin tuna, you gladly pay for quality tools like this twice over
