Yes please! Make that other video on safe storage as we both know, I’ve learned the hard way that my ForScore music is not safe with an Apple backup only 😢

Oh this is WONDERFUL!!! Thanks so much for explaining how to do this. Up until now, I play the song on my cell phone and have the music on my iPad. Your way is much better!!!

Love this, Anne, & yes, I also use this multi-tasking feature for exactly what you suggested! It’s so helpful - when you release a new song, I purchase your sheet music file, then follow it while viewing your video. Such an effective learning tool! Thank you for these great & practical tech videos!!

Thank you so much, Anne! One of my favorite features is Playlists for organizing. Another huge part of my process is exporting PDF’s of my program “scripts” from Pages (word processing app) directly to forScore for my therapeutic groups & worship services

Thanks, Anne! I don't use an iPad, but I do use a pc and monitor to play RU-vid or FB videos while I also read sheet music. The split screen is great tech, and it can be done on pc just by holding "Windows" key and hitting right or left arrow. You've inspired me to see if there are any good pc apps that will let me turn pages of sheet music. Right now, I simply use PDFs displayed in Acrobat reader.

I had forgotten about that as it has been a while! I need to start doing splitting my screen again! I do not have an Ipad but have considered getting one just so I can use forscore for my music.

That absolutely works! There are so many ways to display and navigate your PDFs! Doesn't have to be an iPad at all does it?

Like many others I enjoy these tech tips. Like many others, I do not have an ipad. I wish forscore could be used on another type of tablet. My only tablet type thing is my Kindle Fire and I do not know if there are apps for organizing my sheet music there but should probably investigate it. I love having MP3s of my music since I am not good with a metronome. One too many things to do. So I like to listen to music many times to get the sense of rhythm and how it should sound. I am also not a perfectionist so if my version is a little different then that is ok with me! Thank you for doing these. I would love to see a video on keeping your music safe!

@@annecrosbygaudetmusic Yes I can use it for myself and for my students! I've had ipad and ForScore for maybe as long as you, and I've never known of it, so thanks again! Or maybe I did in the beginning but forgot. 😅

What amazing timing! ... guess what I got for Christmas?! An iPad! :) for the express purpose of converting my sheet music into a digital format (where I will need to organise it and keep it safe etc). So this series of videos you are making, couldn't come at a better time for me! Thanks so much Anne :). I am guessing that my first step now that I have set my iPad up, will be to get ForScore. Is there a best order to watch your helpful videos in? (perhaps I should look at the date you made the video and watch them in chronological order?)

Congratulations on getting a new iPad! Take your time getting to know forScore, there are lots and lots of helpful tutorials on RU-vid. Then plan an organizing strategy that works for you. Have fun!

I also use foreshore and have been using it for approximately 18 years. I used it as a flutist long before taking up harp. I do worry about a crash and losing everything especially since some websites only give you 1 year or less to access the music in your account on their site before it is erased. Scary. I am purchasing a 1TB hard drive to save it all on but would love to see your video and how you do this as I'm not R very tech savvy! I would also love to see a video on recording using an interface and garage band for recorded videos. I'm doing it but something is not consistent and it can be frustrating!

@@annecrosbygaudetmusic I have the forscore app and really have not learned to to use it. This could be one of my goals. I also find it hard to read from my smaller iPad, might eventually get the big iPad pro. Currently I print everything off and keep folders.

@@carpenanne This is actually how I found Anne Crosby Gaudet and her channel: a wonderful video about how to use forScore app! I still do not play harp, but enjoy this channel also for musical practice/ didactic, as I find all instruments can learn from others 😃 I assure Anne will find this video quicker than I would, to give you the link.

Good morning, I love learning how to use technology, especially if it helps me learn to play, would you be willing to ask around for this kind of information for windows users? I dont use Apple products, I would like to investigate how to use a laptop or tablet and see my sheet music that way, I love the split screen idea. Thank you for a new video.

I use a Microsoft Surface Book 3 laptop. It allows you to detach the screen and use like a tablet or - for longer battery life - turn the screen and reattach it to the base. It gives a good size window to read the music 11 1/2 X 7 " -so basically the size of a sheet of paper. I am using Music Notes to organize my music and a PageTurn Firefly foot pedal for the page turns. I find it works really well. The only drawback is that I have yet to find a music stand that works like the ones built for tablets. I have to use a full sized music stand to hold the size / weight of the laptop. One of my harp friends uses Music Notes on her tablet - offers a few added features for the tablet but not enough to make me go out and spend the money on a tablet as well! As one of the others replied, you can use the split screen function on the laptop to play along with videos.
