Great collection, I wasn’t a big fan of this type of style until I purchased the AE Bradley shell cordovan, I love it but not with suits just yet. Really with sport coats n slacks , khakis or even with nice dark jeans. Keep up the good work with the shoe review
Amazing collection! I'm trying to get my first brown suede NST shoes. Which one would you recommend b/w Paraboot and Carmina? I'm not a big fan of long and narrow shoes, so i was leaning towards Paraboot Avignon. Then, Carmina don't seem to be that much elongated in your video. Thanks!
These are very pretty and solid.! But in term of finest i prefer the french split toe called half hunt ( demi- chasse in french)from JM Weston. Plz check.!
I’m familiar with that shoe. It’s very nice looking. At some point I will make it to Paris so they’ll sell them to me. They wouldn’t sell without fitting in person.
Have you tried the Hopkinson or the Exchange Place? These are on different lasts and it you’re concerned with toe box even going up a whole size in the same width, you probably need something more drastic than a length adjustment. The Hopkinson has more arch support and the Exchange place has a chisel toe. That might help. If you need more you might try a Church’s or Cheaney that come in a H width (4E). If these are not options you can also try going up a whole length. I went from a 10.5EEE to a 11.5E because the shoes were never breaking correctly and this corrected it for me. There is a really great video by Cheaney about sizing from heel to ball. If you don’t have the toe box room that’s a factor. As far as cushion and arch support there are a couple factors I’ve learned over the years. If you have the same last on above your foot throughout the shoe you can put an orthotic in. The airport line is made for them (LAX, ORD, MSP, etc) if you have no room on the regular models. This allows you to put in an honest orthopedic insert in, or an OTC one. If you don’t really need that much cushion and extra support you need to consider how long you’ve worn the shoes before deciding you need more. It takes 24-48 hours of wear before the cork molds to your foot completely. For me, this conforms to my arch completely and is comfortable. If you’ve tried that long then the orthotic is probably best. I hope that helps.
