I've been enjoying Splitgate again recently and with the influx of new players I figured I'd make a quick video with all the things I've picked up on while playing. Twitter: / marcostylenl Twitch: / marcostyle Discord: / discord
Literally perfect timing with this video. Just downloaded it with the console release and have been having a blast. Also, now that you’re a variety creator, idk maybe a rocket league video 👉👈?
A friend of mine suggested this game when it first came out, I didn’t give it a try though cause its player base was relatively small. It I tried it out yesterday and I’m really enjoying it. As a titanfall player who loves movement mechanics the portals are something I dig, and can’t wait to understand them more.
It may seem like an obvious thing to say but play Portal and Portal 2. Both relatively short games and its like training for this. I suck at online shooter but with Portal experience already I seem to have am edge in this game...
@@rylandarrke3200 it isnt exactly to hard to use the portals you can definietly get away without using them but if you can remember to use them in certain situations it can 100% elevate your gameplay.
Oh man, a fellow Titanfall player! I love the movement too, it’s got a slower feel than Titanfall but the portals more than make up for it. I’d love a mode with Titanfall 2 style grappling hooks, it’d be really chaotic but really fun.
this isnt a "good old arena shooter" remove the portals then it would be. Portals create chaos, and break map control. you can never tell where someone is gonna be or anticipate their movements. This is a gimmick shooter.
@@jimmythecrow obviously it's not a classic arena shooter, but portals give it a new play style and there's nothing wrong with that. You can tell where people will be and you can have fairly decent awareness, it's just faster gameplay. Don't hate on it if you can't figure it out
@@jimmythecrow 2 things. 1) overall map awareness 2) the radar Those combined allow you to not only move fast but also anticipate where the enemy is gonna be
I like to use what I call "escape portals" when I spawn in I will put down one portal then change the location as needed. Then, when I get in a pickle I place the other portal run through and then close it.
I'm new to splitgate and this video is incredibly helpful and relevant to me. I've been getting better at using portals but I knew that the ceiling is so much higher with this game dynamic. The single step through and then placing your next portal is exactly the lesson I needed. And the fact that you can close enemy portals through walls with the grenade is new to me too. Great content man thanks
Good to know the game is experiencing a renaissance currently. I had it installed since that old video or two but never got around to playing it. I've noticed that logo on Steam has been updated not that long ago and now you uploaded another video on it. Gonna give it a go Thanks for the video!
*Bro. AWESOME bag of tricks! I especially love that very last one -- barely stepping through a portal, shooting a fresh end point, then stepping BACK through the one you are tippy-toe'n along the edge of. I'm gonna lie, I probably had to rewatch that section @**9:09** where you were showing us the fastest route to the sniper gun up top TEN times before it finally clicked & I figured out what you were doing D'oh! Now that i SEE it though i love it. Preesh!*
Damn bro just picked this game up last night what a happy surprise to see your content when searching for SplitGate content used to watch your Halo Wars 1 videos really helped me grow in a strong player
I've seen a couple of videos now, and played the game for a bit, but this was a very useful one and the tips were very well shown with the second player etc great job 👍 thx
As a veteran halo player I can usually beat people in a straight up fight without using any of the other mechanics so I just use the portal as a permenant safe spot in the back of the map I can port out to if it gets too heavy
Same here! I just got a used ps4 from my cousin and I was so happy when I found out about this game because aside from the portals it feels just like Halo, it's taking me back to my xbox 360 days.
3:27 i have a tecnique when if you shoot the second portal in the 45 degree wall, ad instantly jetpack jump while you spin and goforward, you get from the front, but knowing that is a teleporting game its less expected
I started watching your D2 videos recently and then you said you werent gonna make any for a while and that upset me but now I can watch your splitgate videos lol
marcostyle super duper godlike splitgate tips & tricks & tutorials youtube video. i did download splitgate. now time to play game on. i am a newcomer to splitgate.
I'm a big fan of movement based twitch shooters and have been loving every minute I've played of splitgate. The portal mechanic raises the skill celing incredibly. For a beta it's already incredibly good and polished.
Good tips however I always place portals and leave them open and ready as I run and gun most of the time and it’s nice to be able to shoot a quick portal to escape when needed. I try to be mindful of where I place them but it’s much quicker when you already have one open somewhere so you only need to place one then jump through and close.
Really enjoying this game, downloaded it last night and played for 5 hours, instantly Impressed as it runs amazingly for me on a base xbone and the gunplay is so satisfying. Would definitely recommend
