What Kirk fails to realize is that Spock yelled "JIM!" and THEN shoved him out of the way when Kirk didn't move. I love this episode because Spock takes such a beating and it's absolutely amazing XDD
Spock can be kind of clumsy. In the episode where they are playing silent running with the Romulan ship (where Mark Lenard stars) he is so clumsy getting up he sets off a noisy circuit. Odd for a Vulcan.
I just love how Spock explains his "clumsiness" of not moving out of the way. Face the facts, Spock, you care about Captain Kirk and you would risk your very life for the man! Can't you ignore logic for just this once and listen to your human half?
When McCoy says 'if your blood were red instead of green you wouldn't have an upset stomach' Spock just kind of looks away like 'McCoy you moronic old quack'
It's tough for McCoy to correctly heal Spock. His hybrid biology neither reacts completely like a Vulcan's or a Human's, sooo it must make his job even harder than it is
I feel bad for Spock in this episode. He gets poisoned by a plant, shocked by a force field, struck by lightning, and mocked by the locals because of his name. Beam me up please.
Jim just trying to use logic instead of emotional arguments to hide the fact he doesn't like Spock to sacrifice himself for him. Hell, maybe his macho-side just can't stand being looked after all the time :p :D
I wasn't surprised by the amount of red-shirt deaths there were in the episode. Everybody knows that if you beam down to a planet wearing a red shirt, chances are you're not coming back.
"My gay pairing is more canon than yours." I love how everyone is completely disregarding this as nothing and yet I find this hilarious. Am I just really weird or something?
@@baliktad8 Each episode of TOS had a budget of around $200k, so the number Spock start's to quote is strangely low even back then. Also weird because Starfleet doesn't use money (which comes up in Star Trek IV when they visited the 20th century).
@@iyziejane I think he was going to say "hours", actually, as in hours of training and time in the field. If you divide the number of hours in a year, Spock's estimate is right around 14 years, which would make sense chronologically.
I love the way Kirk has a go at Spock for taking the thorns for him, because he had just scared him to death in the fact that he damn near lost his soulmate!
Kirk to Spock,"Do you realize how much Star Fleet has invested in you?" Spock,"yes, captain, precisely one hundred twenty two thousand and,Kirk,"that's enough of that mister!"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Trying to protect your ‘friend’ 1:09 😊😂 Spock is so cute - the way he tries to play it off like it’s nothing ☺️😊 and actually Kirk Spock 🖖 yelled your name to warn you to move so yup 😊
oh yeah and how do you know which one is mine? ;D I've got 147 pairings and I am quite sure there is some good known, lol. Anyway, one of the great scenes...wait,one of the best *gay* scenes of star trek XD Thanks for uploading it!
I know this is an old comment, but I've always noticed the same thing. One of my favorites was in "The Empath," although it could not have felt good when he woke up...
If Vaal had let the party beam out then, there would have been no need for him to be destroyed in the end. He may have been a great weather control computer, but his gaming skills were subpar.
I thought in ST: First Contact Picard said that money doesn't exist in the future. So how could Starfleet invest anything in Spock? I guess either Picard was full of shit or maybe Kirk was. Or maybe they invested something a lot of something other than money in Spock. Or maybe the writers were just making it up as they went.
@@GeneralMe100 That's a simplistic and unrealistic interpretation. TOS has CREDITS, ore ships, miners, Vulcan traders, grain shipments, medical supply shipments. They aren't replicating these things. They are farming, transporting hundreds of lightyears, manufacturing and distributing these things, in a way that requires starship defense. None of that is free. As Heinlein said, TANSTAAFL.
Maria Di Napoli: That episode is 'The Apple'. ""The Apple" is the fifth episode of the second season of the American science fiction television series Star Trek..."
