I think Bobby missed the point of what most people said in the other video. Getting to know all the other people in the Wyrmwood shop, their quirks and backgrounds is a huge part of what made Wyrmlyfe interesting to a lot of us. While we generally agree that from a storyline perspective following Doug is great, getting to know all the diferent people in the company made us feel more connected with the company. Heck, if we didn't know about Big Tony, Theo, Zoe, and all the others in the shop following Wyrmlyfe would be less interesting to me. tl;dr: Sure following the big picture is interesting, but for a lot of us it's also about the people behind the scenes.

Answer: Wyrmwood. Doug is a convenient microcosm for the business, but no amount of Doug can make up for an interview or interaction with Fabrice, Big Tony, Cynthia, etc. I'm also a huge fan of Jason-related segments, because those tend to actually get back to woodworking in some way. And silly as it sounds, I started watching (and continue to watch) because Wyrmlife is woodworking-adjacent.

I think the thing with the whole "Who's the star of Wyrm Lyfe?" question is that yes, Doug is the main character, but in a TV show the main character isn't the focus of every episode. Even though Aang is the main character of _Avatar,_ there are episodes that focus on Katara or Zuko, or even Appa. I think it's good that you guys have identified the important role Doug plays as the central focus of _Wyrm Lyfe,_ but I hope you don't forego an interesting episode just because Doug isn't central to that particular story.

Answer: Doug. The reason is because of his connection, vision, and dedication to the Wyrmwood brand and the employees. Plain and simple. But a "real star" knows how to share the limelight, passing the ball (as it were) to his fellow actors (or employees in this case), and work together. I am so envious of the employees at Wyrmwood, for having a boss who cares so passionately for his team... rather than simply looking at the bottom line only. He cares about that too, of course.

I personally watch wrym lyfe for the business aspect of things. I currently work as a digital marketer/graphic designer for 2 local companies so hearing about how you guys have evolved your marketing over the years and continue to innovate is really cool. I also run a side gig of woodworking making living room furniture and some dining tables so all of the crafting is awesome too. Doug's CEO input on everything definately produces a multitude of content that just keeps on giving. Im also the guy in my friend group who owns all the games so I love me some Ed time lol. I have missed Jason, Bobby, and Gates in the more recent vids. One thing I wasn't super fond of was the old interview questions for people who never got any camera time. Super neat idea and promotes a good culture within the company but from a viewer perspective it feels like I'm getting some character backstory for someone who I only see for 3 minutes of air time. I binge watched from season 1 when I discovered you guys and can say its continually improved season after season, and I agree this most recent season was nearly flawless. Needed some more Doug yelling at Bobby though lol. Cheers!

What they don’t realize is that there isn’t just one main character. It’s the group they have that makes Wyrmlyfe actually work. JV’s editing/filming style, Bobby and Doug’s banter and how they can just bounce off each other in front of the camera, Jason’s guest appearances, etc. It honestly feels like a better, unscripted version of The Office and that’s what I like about it. Not just Doug, not just Bobby, but the main group they have in almost all the episodes and when their not there it doesn’t really feel right. When Bobby wasn’t there it, honestly, felt like something was missing. I don’t know if I’m the only one who feels like this, but just some thoughts.

I think with the examples Bobby gave kinda shows where his head is at. He's trying to relate Wyrmlife to drama shows (Not to be confused with people who make/cover RU-vid/Celebrity Drama). but the show is a documentary (a raw, on the ground and involved documentary). There isn't one single definition of 'Documentary' beyond that its contents is non-fiction, however, Bobby follows Lorentz's "a factual film which is dramatic." definition. Which, I think, Wyrmlife wouldn't work without. That being said, not all documentaries have "main characters" and have a "focus" on a "Thing" instead. Wyrmlife as a documentary has a "focus" on Wyrmwood as a company. That is why the the content migrated to Keystone this season, even with the intention of alternating the content between the to bases, Because Wyrmwood's focus was on Keystone. Keystone had the tables which were needed for the Kickstarter. This is also why it seems like Doug is the "Main Character", he is the decision maker (CEO) within the company. His focus (to an extent) is Wyrmwoods focus which is Wyrmlife's focus. That Being said, Wyrmlife is more than just about the current focus of the company (I think this is what Bobby means When he say's Wyrmwood is just the setting). It is also about the characters of the people working there, but it shouldn't be about them as characters because then you would lose some of the humanity that makes Wyrmlife great. (I'm Not saying you're doing this, just that if you focus on who's a "character" you could inadvertently do that). Sorry for the long form formal-ish post Uni has affected how I write.

This is just my stage manager's brain going, but maybe getting a production assistant to help in the wyrmlyfe/media could possibly be helpful? Taking to Doug's point of needing Bobby, a general, on the battlefield there can be a person on the side to handle the letters and organization. (Wow, that's basically a Hamilton. Less dying thou). Get a well-rounded person instead of being super skilled in one thing. They could be sent to where help is needed instead of just specialization. Also, the white text pop-ups are the main character!!! They make me pause episode every time!

It's the interactions, the dialogue, the thoughts, ideas, and actions going between multiple identifiable personalities, and the entertaining things that happen WITH those interactions. Individually, y'all are awesomely interesting people, that have your own quirks, that each adds something to the FORMULA of Wyrm Life that brings fans in. The more people and places you add to it, the larger the Wyrm Life world becomes. Any part that then gets taken out of it, and that world shrinks, and seemingly becomes lesser for it. Just a comment about Wyrmlyfe, I discovered it in June and it is why I ended up order a table. While I enjoy table top games, it is not my "thing" per say. I was more drawn into a company that I feel invested in and can feel not only comfortable but excited about supporting them for the quality and personality of the brand. I even raised my budget for a coffee table (size I got) between 100-1000% because I was in search of a new one and this came along. All that to say is key doing what you're doing as this obviously is working on me and I'm sure many others.

as much as Wyrmlife is becoming a reality show, it is first and foremost a "peek behind the curtain" into how Wyrmwood as a company functions, from the strategic Doug to the troublemaker Bobby to the actual product actually being made. It's proof that the craftsman's promise actually means something, and it convinces us to spam "buy" on a 10 minute old kickstarter because we have been hyped for TWO MONTHS about how excellently this table will have been designed and constructed - that it is worth it. You drive eyeballs to your products. But you do that through showing us your products and your processes, not through some reality tv show of a bunch of staff. I walked away from Corridor Digital because of that. I came because Wyrmwood was woodworking-adjacent. Don't lose that.

The smaller segments are part of why we support this company. They're growing into a bigger company fast but still retaining that small company feel. Shop life is Wyrmlyfe. Also check the "Coffin Tray" on the white board in the red room. Hello Halloween kickstarter.

Doug has character. Wether smiling or being serious he commands a room. I’m not in the same room so height doesn’t play a part for me. I saw the Twitch stream and I look forward to the conversations. Really you have Thursday Twitch podcast.

I don't have the exact words to describe my input on the issue being faced towards Wyrm Lyfe and the media team, so strap in and get ready for what may be a wild ride. I fully agree with what Doug has put forward, Bobby and JV are a necessity for Wyrm Lyfe without question. The two of them are the origin and growth of Wyrm Lyfe, their interaction with whoever is the "focus" of the scene is pivotal to success or failure. That being said I do recognize Bobby's understanding that they need more manpower to crank the numbers up to achieve long term goals. I believe that the individuals brought in to the media team should start with the bulk work that takes the most time to do, or any project that just needs "X humans over Y time = thing happening" like the visualizer did. All the while the "A listers" are able to focus that time they didn't before to slap out the good shit, and with their attention not being stretched thin will find new "empty" time to grow the new team members into the long term goals of succession. There is one point I want to make that I have not seen get contested by the main crew: This is not T.V. , this is not a "storyline" show, this is a VLOG. With a understanding that there are (what have been referred to as) arcs, are just in my view "Big shit happening, and needs more than a few videos to capture it all". We have seen (Or heard) many times when Bobby has tried to manufacture a scene or narrative for it to fail or never make it out of QC, cause that is not what Wyrm Lyfe is. Wyrm Lyfe is the real shit, the day to day, the genuine interaction of the company as a whole. None of what makes Wyrm Lyfe great is scripted or sometimes even prompted, but it organically manifests. As an example from this video alone the conversation in the red room ( 10:15 or so ) where you all descend the conversation into chaos and hilarity. That's the good shit. It's impossible to make videos that are only "The good shit" but that sorta thing is why we're here. That sorta thing only comes from you all talking, and knowing each other, and can only be achieved in the social structure that has captivated the audience through the vlog. We want Wyrmwood, not a damn thing else. There will never be a script that results in the good shit. I've run out of words, so I'll leave it at that. Thank you and have a good day.

TAUNTON!!!! HOME SWEET HOME 💗💗💗 Oh, I feel like I've just returned from a long vacation. It was very fun at Keystone (5 stars, would definitely go back) but MA is always gonna be home. It's great to see the workshop alive again. It's great to see Big Tony again. That hi-5 was a pleasant surprise :D The Red Room is by far my favorite room now that it's compared side by side. (then again it's the only one with windows x'D) but still, great color choice!

Don't worry Jason. My wife and I are only getting a Lilliput right now as I am on an involuntary employment hiatus. It's all we can afford. But the modularity you have built in means we do not need to buy everything at once. We can expand when things get better.

I think, if the ending shows us anything. A successful company, has a CEO who has the finger on the pulse, not only of his company. But of their audience, he knows what his customers are buying. This is why he's successful as a CEO. The company is successful for many reasons, but Doug is defo one of them.
