I'm sure people have commented on this a lot, but Alm's voice acting after he killed Rudolph is truly amazing. That "What have I done?" is heartwrenching.
Something else I'd like to note is that Nier Automata came out like a month before and 9S is also voiced by Kyle McCarley. It's very possible both characters were recorded at roughly the same time which is insane to me considering how fantastic both performances are
I actually had sent a Bow Knight to strike him from range, my main force was defending that chokepoint at the gate. Apparently the Bow Knight triggered his aggro though, cause he started coming for me. I just had Lukas, who was a Baron, tank him while my three Saints healed him and my Archers just shelled him.
I think Alm's reaction to the fact that he committed patricide by killing Rudolf by first crying and then letting out a blood-curdling scream was much better than Ike's reaction to his dad dying in Path of Radiance. "Don't leave me! Father!"
@@KamuiProductsInc It was the first 3D FE and the first FE to utilize VA. So it gets some points for that. And some VAs weren't that bad. Greil's isn't that terrible. And Ike's gets better in Radiant Dawn. Mist and Elincia however... *Shudders* But yeah, Echoes implemented its voice acting beautifully.
My favorite part is that Rudolf could have just acted like he was fighting Alm... but he could not even act like he was going to kill Alm. He couldn't. For so long he did this act, but when facing Alm, he stalled and could not raise his arm to strike at his son even for show. With the background music and everything... perfect.
@kelseybolivar9910 I'd say it's more of Vader being so conflicted that it led to Luke besting him in a duel in episode 6. Anyone else at the level Luke was at and they would have been bodied by Vader. But his son? How could he kill the last remnant of his beloved wife. Some say ep 5 is the best but it may be the better movie but ep 6 was the better star wars movie.
Man I swear, seeing how they have reimagined this battle from the original game has made me love echoes for what it is. They've put so much emotion and suspense along with an amazing soundtrack and voice acting to show how much hard work was put into this moment. The development team has done an amazing job to make Fire Emblem Echoes a true gem within the whole entire franchise. I dont even know if I want another Fire Emblem game like this, I personally love how underrated Echoes is and would want to keep it that way. It makes me appreciate the game way more!
This was probably the best orchestrated and best executed scenes in the whole fire emblem franchise. The depiction of Alm at the end in shadow with that baritone narrator really sealed it as being powerful.
This was one of the saddest scenes in Echoes :'( I think Rudolf didn't attack Alm because he did not want to kill his own son, that's why he hesitated. No, that makes sense, because Rudolf would have attacked him otherwise and probably kill him. He's supposed to be the enemy, the man who Alm swore to kill, only to realise the truth and that he will never be able to spend time with his father. :( Man this game really tugs on your heart strings hard...... rip Rudolf.
@@yourconscience8018That much is true. As much as I'd like to honor Rudolf's last will about keeping his men alive if he falls, he unfortunately has the honor of having one of the best maps and themes in the whole game.
I defeated Rudolf yesterday on Hard Mode and be was incredibly overpowered. Sure Deltheia can rip a good chunk of his HP away with Ragnarok, but I had to use Mila's turn wheel twice since he killed Matilda and Zeke with a nasty critical hit. I swear, that Angel Ring is broken beyond reasonable measures.
Rudolf was pretty easy, like in Gaiden. My Alm was incredibly underleveled (Level 7 Hero, 154 rating) and Alm still beat the crap out of him. Delthea can even one round him with Excalibur.
I remember this moment when I first played, I never actually played gaiden and this was like my third fire emblem so I didn’t know much about the lore but this scene hit *HARD*. As a first impression I don’t know if I could ever have the same reaction as the first time experiencing it
"Come attack me". Me: *launches attack and slices off his santa beard*. "Why isn't"t he attacking? What kind of witchcraft is this? I asked for lunatic mode not easy mode!"
I wish that part was more impactful for me.. I just warped Kliff into the middle of everything with his Dracoshield and he just kinda.....absorbed them
Just did this fight today and didn't get this because I baited him out with an overleveled dread fighter Gray who OHKO'd him via crit. A little sad I missed this little thing
This is funny in hard mode I just placed tobin in the middle. Rudolf moves. I killed him with alm and one other guy I did not even killed any other unit lol.
I had no idea that rudolph would not attack alm have this exchange since luthier got a crit and one-shotted him when I played. so it also made me laugh when alm still took credit for killing rudolph.
