I still remember getting this game for the PS2 in christmas of 2007. I found the game fun as hell. I think I have to give the game another try to see if I still like it.

Both the TV special and the game to me were very good. I liked Atlantis Squarepantis, the music was amazing too. Out of all the SpongeBob games this game had the top 3 best OST's in all the SpongeBob console games.
Next is Truth or Square, right? Anyway, this is definitely a pretty average game. Much better than the special, like Truth or Square, but also not as spectacular as CFTKK. Nonetheless, Blitz Games and THQ did their best to make the game worthwhile, and it's a shame to have both of them dead.
I feel that the Atlantis SquarePantis game was absolutely fantastic. I loved every part of it, the games, the commentary, the bonus levels. Really Atlantis SquarePantis' biggest problem is that it has something for everybody and not too much for those who only like a portion of it. If somebody happens to not like rhythm based games then they'll be unhappy with roughly half of the game's content and they'll be forced to play it anyways. A lot of whether or not a game is good hinges on the subjective and the way this game is designed really hammers that in. Additionally, the game's content isn't spaced out very much; the rhythm based games take up half of the game's entirety while there's only two tank levels, and only two camera levels, only two shooting gallery levels, and only one bus driving level(from my memory). I feel that Atlantis SquarePantis had plenty of length to it, as all levels had two bonus stages to them(except for Trash Dash I believe) effectively bringing the total level count to forty; plus each level had its own commentary track which gave each level a second layer of replay-ability as this commentary was really funny joke commentary by the characters instead of commentary by the producers(which I feel also would've been acceptable); this combined with the unlockables gives plenty of incentive to replay a level if not the entirety of the game. I never even knew about the extra mini-games until now. As someone who enjoyed absolutely everything the game had to offer I would call it a perfect game(ignoring of course, the porting issues with Wii).
This game will always have a special place in my heart idc what anyone says about this i will always love this game because this is the first game I ever played and beaten as a kid.
9:52 this is the same f*cking line that King Dedede says in the Kirby anime. Except it is "Who wants a show with Kirby in it?" I would let it off the hook for this, but it sounds a bit to unoriginal.
I actually never knew this version existed until years later and instead of this one I grew up with the ds version which I ended up liking more than this one somehow

i put this game down after level one . blitz what happened ? creature was a decent start to your turn of games. this is why heaven iron should make them instead !
Be kind. It's not their fault that the special was not liked by everyone, and try to give the game a chance and see what it has to offer and not just the story.
With "Creature from the Krusty Krab", they were allowed to make their own story with their own ideas. With this one, however, they were made to stick with adapting a subpar T.V. special by Viacom.
@@xavierashford9072 yeah to be fair it wasn't blitz games fault that the special turned out bad. with creature from the krusty krab on the other hand they had their own creative freedom and could do what they wanted but with this game they didn't have that luxury 😅
I was surprised that this review, was by someone who actually seems to be a Spongebob fan/having a decent knowledge on Spongebob, aa most people who talk about Spongebob games, don't know much about the show, or only know a little bit about it.

On your note about a new Spongebob collect-a-thon, I personally feel like we should get the old team to start a kickstarter to work on a game in vein to those. It doesn't have to just be about Spongebob, but a big open underwater world with their original characters. There's a lot of talent behind those games, and like Yooka Laylee, I'd rather see the old team come back and make the game they want rather than waiting for god knows how long before they get the license back, but that's just me.
ERIC EXITUS that sounds cool but a new game in the nicktoons unite series is in the works its called nicktoon dimensonal overdrive its being developed by platnum games
Honestly, this game and Revenge of The Flying Dutchman the most mediocre Spongebob games I have ever played. (At least console game wise.) But yeah, it's certainly not atrocious like Hero Pants but it's not something I go back to often. Otherwise, it's okay. Certainly much better than the aforementioned special.

I think this game does have some genuinely good levels like the bus driving level and the on rail levels, and the arcade mode is also good. But most of the levels start out decent and then they drag out, like REALLY drag out.
I remember playing Squarepantis, not bad, not good, but all that matters is I had a great time playing, but never did a second play through and didn't go for 100%. I do remember re-playing the tank levels, because in my opinion, those were the best part of the game
I haven't seen the video in full yet, only 1:10 in but I can already say this that the game is gonna be better than the special, seriously, you get David Bowie and don't even let him sing
You know, it's been two years since the release of HeroPants. Usually it doesn't take that long for a new SpongeBob game to come out. What do you think they're planning?
Atlantis SquarePantis game may have not been that good for others, but I enjoyed it. HeroPants was the latest original SpongeBob game that came out and you reviewed as it was a more worser game and that made sense. They released the nicktoon crossover games Nickelodeon Kart Racers 1 and 2. Upcoming is Nickelodeon All Star Brawl and today, THQ announced the next original upcoming SpongeBob game called Cosmic Shake. Will you do a game review for all these games in the future? I think everyone who likes your reviews will be interested.
For anyone who thinks PRR and RotFD are better than this game, sit the hell down. You clearly have lost your mind. I don't think that this game is very good, though. Blitz Games could have pulled an Activision: just have the short story and that's it. No, instead they decided to give you a reason to replay this game by unlocking many level variations, arcade games, concept art pictures, and costumes for SpongeBob. Although, I have to say that the DS version of this game is the best since it sold 1.61 million copies. If they remaster this game, they might as well just remaster the DS version with some aspects of the console version added in.

I remember finding the tank and maze sections along with the arcade pretty fun, but the levels where you just press buttons at the right time (singing, the tour, etc) kinda boring. :/
I’ve only ever played the handheld version of this game, I wasn’t aware that there was a console version of it. With that being said, the handheld is waaaaaay different that this version. It’s a true platform game with tons of levels that didn’t appear in the special like a volcano. I still think I prefer the handheld version, but it’s not for everyone.

Well the TV special sucked from the start but the game was decent. Not good like battle for bikini bottom let alone the movie game, but way better than heropants and plankton’s robotic revenge. Better than nothing
