"Planet Of The Jellyfish" was based on "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers." It's also implied that SpongeBob was watching that movie when he couldn't sleep. One of the main signs of someone being a pod person was the lack of true emotions.

Unpopular Opinion: I really like Are You Happy Now? It's the first time the show takes Squidward's misery seriously, SpongeBob is actually trying to help for once, and the ending is just hilarious, not gonna lie. When me and my brother saw this episode for the first time, when SpongeBob said Squidward was handsome, his response was this: WHAT?!?! SpongeBob, your gay! And Squidward, is suicidal! [EDIT] I love Free Samples too. The ending is great, and at 25:36, if I saw all that money, I'd probably react the same! (I'm on disability, don't judge me.)

I like the Home sweet home episode, it’s actually pretty interesting idea. I’m glad the episode went to a different direction instead of SpongeBob trying to move in after his house collapse from rotten, seen that type of situation many times. The writers decided to make the focus of the episode, SpongeBob friends helping to fix his home.

I can't say enough! These are hands-down some of my favorite episodes. "Are You Happy Now?" is an incredibly riveting episode to me and I feel incredibly yet gently touches upon a subject of true, crippling depression. I enjoy how SpongeBob is truly trying to help Squidward in that episode, nor is he actually the source of Squidward's depression. "Planet of the Jellyfish", based on "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", is one of my favorite science fiction episodes from SpongeBob... so creepy and unnerving with such a simple visual (the starry eyes). Mr. Krabs was the scariest imo and having a jellyfish cosplay as one of the aliens was genius imo, melting into slush, etc. I looooooove the gags in "Free Samples", all the way down to the green surfer fish's dialogue, LOL, Squidward cosplaying as a monkey, and the visuals as everyone ingests the chum. Love the ending with the "money angel" and how SpongeBob was the hero. "Home Sweet Rubble", I never even realized it until now somehow, but I LOVE the play on Season 1's "Home Sweet Pineapple" and how everyone pitches in to help SpongeBob. Made sense to have Squidward "hold it all together", and amazing voice work from Tom Kenny when the mustard particles fall into his eyes. Love Patrick's lines. Love how Gary turns in slow-motion, LOL.

Addressing a problem is not the same as solving it. “Are You Happy Now?” fails to realize this. In general, yes, Squidward has depression, but never THIS far. “Planet of the Jellyfish” is a fun parody of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The black eyes on the Jelliens are so cool yet creepy. And I feel like I just KNEW how you’d react to the mayonnaise. Plankton doesn’t seem to REALIZE how awful his chum is. It’s hilarious how little self-awareness he has. Anyway, “Free Samples” has one of his smartest schemes yet. I can vibe with “Home Sweet Rubble.”

When I saw this, it made me cry so much because I was the same way. Being haunted by your fears are what made me break down.

What I dislike about these seasons is the squeaky sound effects that SpongeBob makes that I don’t recall hearing in the early seasons. It’s started by season 5 and I feel like it’s been use more and more, unnecessary and pretty annoying.

Finally the best Season 8 episode arrived. It even has a game!

I love how the fake Patrick just had tentacles in his mouth for no reason whatsoever! Also, the reason the fake Gary looked that way was because the Alien Jellyfish covered both him AND a flowerpot, so it ended up mixing the 2 of them together.

Planet of the Jellyfish is very interesting episode, an alien creature transforming to jellyfish’s to take over people forms. My personal favorite season 8 episode.

I would have liked to see Squidward reflect on all of his good memories instead of solving his depression by destroying 100 fake Spongebobs.

Are You Happy Now had that one dark part in which it looked like Squidward wanted to take his own life… 😬 Those Jellion creatures transformed everyone into Jellion mayonnaise hating people 😳 what I liked about this episode was the “one Krabby Patty, hold the mayonnaise, braaapppp” part 🤣 Guess Chum isn’t fum in that episode with the free samples 💀 SB’s house is falling apart. I remember he had a pebble and it planted him a new pineapple with his tears. This one had a pineapple come out of a can. Kinda the same plot, except SB didn’t go to live/sleep at people’s houses, or move back with his parents.

I don't know if that's just me but I love this little detail when SpongeBob has his glasses on while jellyfishing. They look great on him. 😁

Are you happy now and the planet of the jellyfish was more better than the other two episodes. I thought Are you happy now was going to be terrible and dark but it actually turned out to be better than I thought. And the jellyfish alien one was darker than the other episode. But it was also very creepy and creative but it wad pretty good. I really like how Sandy and Mr Krabs added the fancy stuff for Spongebob's house like the future bathroom and shelf the included ketchup, mustard and the mayonnise. I also I like the pink wallpaper.

I actually liked Jellien Patrick he was actually the only Jellien that wasn't hostile towards SpongeBob lol

The Planet of Jellyfish is so great parody, too bad it didn't make a reference to "Sandy's Rocket". Sandy didn't believe in aliens and that finally bit her in her cheeks, once again Patrick is a secret genius and knew about this stuff all along. It's also cool to see SpongeBob and Sandy team up and being the ones to save the town once again. That makes Bikini Bottom citizens even bigger jerks since they consider the two the idiot and outsider freak of this community. Ha-ha, since you thought of Mayo as something funnier it would be certainly a ride to check out SpongeKnob SquareNuts on your own. I just can't help myself seeing Patrick's costume there and laugh over and over again
