Man I don’t care what other people say the new models look really sick (other than Bab being a bit strange and Ben’s polygon count going up but those aren’t very big) Siren already looks 10x better and goop looks like he’s actively melting while chasing you. Food demon looks malnourished and honestly I feel like it fits him much more than being just a generic demon creature and I REALLY like the way parasite has different types of teeth though I they were less symmetrical and a bit more all of the place

I love how they picked Otto the otter as the big finisher of the trailer out of all specimens😂

On their own, the designs do exhibit lots of personality and have some great pacing for their animations. It does come at the cost of the horror and the vibes, though, which is a dealbreaker in this context for me. For example, I actually LOVE 10’s new stubby sheepshead teeth, but they’re too symmetrical now. If they touch ‘em up a bit and make the body enveloped by the pseudopods more rugged, they could turn out great! I respect all of the work that went into this but I do hope that we retain the ability to toggle between these new versions and the old ones.

Am I the only one who thinks the new models look really good? Sure the Merchant (6 I believe) doesn't blatantly copy the N64 art style, but that exact thing was what made him look really out of place (not in a good way) with the other members, so it's nice seeing him look a little more real. The Cat is the only model here I'm a little iffy on, the face seems a bit... Disjointed and small but it's not a deal breaker. So to everyone pissing and whining about how they "ruined the game", the new models will grow on you.

I know a lot of people are upset about this update, I do get why, and I hope there's an option to toggle back to the pre-SOUP art style (and hopefully also the OG designs for the Karamari Hospital & Spooky's Dollhouse enemies) if possible. With all of that being said though, I honestly really like the changes to the elevator button, Spooper, the whale, the test tube things, the cat, the mermaid, the shadow puppets, Gel, the spiderpede, the giant eel, the food demon, and Otto the Otter, and while I'm not as fond of the changes to the deer lord, Bab, Ben, and the alien, I honestly can't say I hate them either, and I'll probably at least get used to them pretty fast. In any case, I'm excited to see how everything else looks!

Everyone complaining about the designs here needs to take off their nostalgia goggles, the only one i dont like is BaB.

My problem with this update is that it just look cartoony, like, they just don't look as scary or imposing as they were and it like they going for consistent art style that I feel completely go against the love letter to horror by making the monster look absolutely jarring. I will still give it the benefit of the doubt when it eventually release but as of now... Ummm... Parasite look funny. Edit: the physical editions look fucking awesome!

I respect a lot of the work that’s gone into this update, but good lord… the new models for the specimens just are not right at all. The only one I really have no problem with is Specimen 2, the rest just feel like they miss the point of the original designs by a huge margin. They don’t have that same charm as Kira’s designs and it genuinely feels like they were designed without a good understanding of the originals’ intentions. Specimen 5’s new design loses ALL of the intimidation factor that her original design carried which worked well with the Silent Hill/Pyramid Head style behavior. Specimen 6 is alright but the texture update to it breaks the immersion of it being reminiscent of N64 Zelda games. Specimen 8’s reworked face looks more prey than predator, which although that makes sense for it being a deer, I think that predatory design clashing with the species is part of what made him so charming. Specimen 10’s animations are too bouncy and lively for something implied to be a human corpse being assimilated by an alien parasite. Specimen 13 being visible swimming through the water is a cool addition in a vacuum, but it completely negates the very thing she was designed to be a reference to: you know, the INVISIBLE water monster from Amnesia. I understand there was a lot of effort put into these and, frankly, I respect that hard work, but if you ask me, it really falls flat in so so many ways. There’s a saying for this stuff: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Please, just keep Kira’s original designs in the game. There wasn’t anything wrong with them in the first place, why feel the need to change it?

I think the only one that actually makes me a little upset is how you can see specimen 13 below the water now, since it was originally supposed to be a reference to the water monster from Amnesia. The rest look nice, i especially like the new beef demon and deer god!

I think the only one that sucks in my opinion is specimen 5, it comes straight out of a cartoon. Also you could make specimen 10 legs less thinner and don't make him bounce like a meat

Tbh the only one that i finded to be a worse redesign is Ben the Merchant, it kinda loses it's low poly n64 style.. other than that i dont understand why yall think the game is ruined, i think i could get used to it quick.

I don't really care about the new models, it'll take quite a while to grow on people who had been with the old models for years, but I think some actually look pretty nice. Makes me wonder what they did to Specimen 9! (In both forms) Hopefully they keep the Old Man's design charm the same, he is better looking like a polygonal model that came out of a PS1.

The only problems I have with the newer models: Specimen 2 looks like a mobile game villain, although I think it's supposed to be a parody of bendy and the ink machine (not sure tho) Specimen 5 looks a little too slim, though not the biggest deal Specimen 10 looks really.. janky.. it doesn't look intimidating at all anymore

my guys cant stop killing the rest of what was the great horror part of this game, so they basically made a creepy and unique enemy look like a jerky clown (s10), removed amnesia vibes from s13 and bro what the hell happened to s5 is she suffering from anoreixa or what😭😭😭 back in 2021 i thought the og stans and hdr haters were too biased, but it seems like they had predicted the future of hdr. tbh i feel sad for akuma kira that their genius satire horror is being milked and distorted so hard, not allowing a single piece of its former atmosphere to stay

hopefully this includes a switch update for digital copies aswell 😭

You can tell that the people behind this don't understand what are they working with by taking a look at Specimen 6. I really loved his old design looking like something pulled straight out of OoT/MM, Speci6 being a Ben Drowned reference and all.

I don't hate the new models, they're cool. I just hope there's a toggle. That said, the cat should remain flat. Like Spooky, if felt like a feature of the mansion instead of the specimens which felt like independent monsters from the outside that got pulled in. The mansion's walls are flat, Spooky is flat, so I feel like the cat should be flat.

I like the designs except for meat demon and bab, but the main thing I'm wondering is what will tursiak, I'm scared, Lisa, and ringu phase 2 look like, also will this be happening with kalamari and the doll house dlcs? I wonder?

Problem goop looks a bit too skinny kind of fitting tho considering his pre spawn message to the player. The Thing/Alien though I thought he'd be a bit thicker in the legs and have it gooier but now they look like noodles and his head is way to short XD moldy spaghetti.

Some of the models here look really good, some don't, and 1 is in the middle I really don't like Gel, bab, ben the merchant, and Parasites new model but I really do like The Sirens, The Centipede, And the white cat [i'm counting it as a specimen], and also otto the otter and the food demon is a middle for me, It looks more threatening, but not as beefy as the original one, I like and don't like it [can't say anything about ringu since we barely even see her] all in all, some of these models are bad, and some of them are good

pretty neat. not a huge fan, but it does look decent. i hope for all those wanting the og hd graphics there will be a toggle, as I personally prefer those ones. does look nice though.

They netured the Beef Demon, he went from a imposing beast to a gangly Imp, he looked like he went on a vegan beef diet for ten years and this is the result.

I think they should little hints at what the specimens do and how they work because I’ve seen people play the game and not even know what deer god or food demon and other specimens do

I get why people don't like the newer models. The original 2d designs were creepy in a uncanny kind of way, which is why they're still my favorite design. The first 3d models felt like a downgrade because they felt bland looking. Don't get me wrong, it was still scary getting chased down by the monsters, but the uncanny feel was essentially gone. These new 3d models feel like an upgrade from the og 3d models, but they still lack the uncanniness of the first 2d models. In short, they have the same scare factor as mascot horror monsters right now.

the only issues i have with the new models are Bab who looks like a runway model (SLAY) and walkie because those meat flaps are something the rest looks much better

I played every version of this game till now but please dont make me play this, i hope this isn't an update for hd renovation, they cartoonized everything it looks like a unity projectwith full moving characters, the nice thing about this game was the uncanny way most of the specimens moved like, to not talj about the design changes, what need there is to change the mannequin/ silent hill reference monster into some cartoon like mummy?

okay, love the animation on some charachters but i feel weird about all that, first ben the merchant is very weird, i don't like his new design. i love slimy new animation and a lot of new annimation, but so redesign is a bit weird like slimy, i cant unsee the E G G head that he has. The cat is cool in 3D but i don't know if i really like 3D over 2D, i don't know, i hope that when it come out thry will change a bit, and i would love if we can have all 3D Model with new animation

This isnt even a bad thing. So why are there so many people complaining that "it's ruined now"? How is it ruined? It couldn't be because the new models arent that scary, because the old ones aren’t that scary either. And would you rather this game not look better? Its not like its an entire rework of the game, its updated models. Im not even saying that all the new models are better, the old specimen 2 model looks better than the one in this video. But this new one definitely isnt bad.
