I love watching you pass all the sport bikes on an adventure bike. I'm sure you bruised a few egos that day. Next time put on a top box for added shaming lol
"Already had a couple sessions this morning, started to get good feeling for the track..." after eating all of them R bikes all morning. Now, have them for lunch.
Happy birthday sir. The bike and the suit were tailored made for your skill set on 2 wheels. What an awesome bike. I like the pass photo....1000RR:) Amazing! Thanks for the ride.
This was the Intermediate-Advanced group. I've been cleared to run in the advanced or fastest group, but it was sold out by the time I purchase the track day. This one makes for an entertaining video with the passes but I would've have liked more open track to practice and get faster.
Nice riding! Why was that rider waving to slow down at 7:15? Also, that RSV4 must have done a double take when he saw an Adventure bike passing him in a turn at 8:15.
Hey Will, got them from someone on the S1000XR Facebook group. I ended up trading them back for the stock piece after mine got damaged on the recent deer incident.
Late comment but great vids and great riding. I'm going to start track days here at Pittsburgh Raceway next session. Wick question, what tires did you run? And do you have stock height suspension or lowered?
Liked & Subscribed! Looks like this S1000XR is really good to you...but do u honestly recommend it in its 2020 model iteration? Because from your past review I gathered it had electrical and suspension issues...so do u recommend it over japanese equivalent models?
Thanks for subscribing. I don't think I ever mentioned it, but my first bike did have some rear shock faults, something about the adaptations. I rode the wheels off it and never felt it misbehave. Very few owners have had an issue with removing the key and the bike staying on, the ignition module gets stuck but it's an easy fix. I can easily recommend this bike with the best of them, mechanically it is very reliable.
Please, one question.. I have a 2018 S1000xr too.... but I’m afraid the bike have a “shimmy” Did you both another steering dumper?? I hardened the rear bumper of my motorcycle. is that enough?? Tnks.... from Brazil
Hey Nic, I have yet to come back home, it'll be a few more months. Good news is that I'm in Germany, so I might be able to get those body fairings at a better price. Can't wait!
@@CubanRider Awesome, make the best of it while u r there, ride the roads and looking forward to some new content. Thanks for taking a second to check on your FanBase.
Honestly - tyre warmers and all those hyper expensive, slick tyred sports bikes and they're all tossed off by a guy on a fucking adventure bike like they're going backwards. Strewth!
Just goes to show how important, nailing your turn points, reference points and apex' is to riding on the track..... The bikes speed only matters in the straight aways. Nice riding...
What’s up man? I’ve got an s1000xr also, and I’m doing a track day on Jul 4 @cota. Random: how are you attaching your go pro to your helmet? Are you using the 3M mount or is it bolted?
Aw man, I won't be back in the area by then, otherwise I would've signed up for sure. The camera it's on a sticky mount on a flatter portion of the helmet, using a couple of adapters to get the angles right. Are you local to Austin?
Wow... You pass the sports bikes so easily... What mods have you done to the bike? Tune exhaust? And last what power is it making?? Keep up the good vids bro👍👍👌👌
These newer alpinestars suits with the larger textile panels are much more comfortable and easier to move around, and make it so that riding on track doesn't require as much energy. Looking forward to making mine dirty in Jerez next month 😁😁 As always your videos are great, amazing to see you embarrassing them sportbikes.
Amazing riding man! Just rode with Alex and your gang in MSRH! Looking forward to sharing a track with you soon (With my XR as well!) Keep em coming and hope your bike is fixed and ready!
Cuban Rider yes m running Angel Gts on street , with 250 speed and leans around curves, want to lean full down but not trusting the Angel Gts for that . .
Thanks Nic. Lots of parking lot practice, oh yeah, also at the tail of the dragon. 😄 My only racing background is a ton of Gran Turismo back in my early 20s. While just a game/simulator, that experience helps me find a quick line around racetracks much quicker.
Awesome video Cuban, really enjoyed it! I now have a new camera angle to try out ;) Did your higher footpegs make any difference to your ground clearance? I was looking at getting the same risers you have and then getting the rubber mounts that lower your seat. This should make your legs have a sportier bend to them making you get knee down sooner and before the pegs scrape. Have you tried something like this yet? Cheers!
The aftermarket pegs helped for sure, I could feel I was getting more lean angle, but I would like them higher so I can lean further without having to work too hard with my body position. It was 100 degrees that day, so I was trying to conserve all the energy I could.
@@rickhill3550 thanks. The suspension was set to dynamic and + luggage to stiffen up the rear a little. If set for two passengers I get a bit more ground clearance but the bike becomes too stiff and jumpy.
@@chrisbigsoldier2180 I wonder how would it be to put the RR engine in it, like Ducati will in the new Multistrada that will come with the Panigale engine V4 with around 190hp. I would like to see the XR with at least a 3rd generation RR engine
That would be cool if you had some camping equipment or luggage still strapped on the back flapping in the wind as you passed by. Like you stopped for the day to camp but forgot the beer and got lost on the way to the store!!! Also, I didn't know you could run sport bike tires on a CB500X. I may look into buying one myself. J/K - Nice video.
@@EEEBA1 No. Mine does the same exactly at that speed, and I have Hyperpro springs and their steering damper, + the front is lowered 10mm. Track or highway doesn't matter. It's better with the mods, but not eliminated. Still wobbles but very slightly at 130 mph. With the big BMW topcase, it wobbles at 100-ish, didn't go past that with the topcase on. Only thing I can think about is wheel balancing, which I'll ask the dealer to do very soon along with resetting absolutely everything, or something suspension related, point at which I'm probably going to just get the new one, since this ain't my only usability issue.
@@ThaSideWeed You said you'll get a new one? Bike? If yes which model? I love my XR (mine is the 2018 lowered version) my main complaint is the wobble. I just got new tires and balanced my wheels perfectly and hopefully I will test it this weekend.
In what group are you riding?? It's really easy to show some guys on Superbikes the way, when they just starting off 🤔 Why don't you strut your stuff in "class A" ... where all the real fast guys are ?? Just asking 🤷♂️
Just kidding 🤭 You smooth as fck , and being smooth.. is going fast ✊🏻!! About those group classes? Here in Johannesburg, South Africa.. we have got four classes A,B,C & D ! A: is for national racers , club , ex racers and the really fast guys on superbikes etc .. B: is for the guy's thats getting there C & D for the novice and newbies!! I know, I'm commenting on a year ago video's 😬.. you still got your XR ?? Keep going , i enjoy your videos ✌🏻 All the best for 2021 !! Cheers from Sunny South Africa 🇿🇦
Thanks Neil. Here it depends on the organization running the track, but it's usually the same with A/B/C or level 1-3. On this specific track day, there were a lot of riders, so they had separate level 2s. I was running on 2A, which is the more advanced intermediate. It was my first time to this track, so while level 3 had more room to focus on the track and get faster, I didn't want to get in the way of the experienced riders. My second visit to this track was just a couple of weeks ago. This time I was in advanced or level 3 and I was happy the bike kept out pretty good with the fast moving traffic. I want to raise the pegs and get stickier tires for the next riding season, hoping to shave 2-3 seconds next time around. Thanks for watching and for the well wishes!
Afterwards you should have shown us all the sports bike riders in the pits with sledgehammers smashing their expensive bikes to bits, the XR killed um as always.
