Yeah, one thing I did notice on the 2018 is there is basically zero front storage. Nowhere to really put napkins or change or the key, seems they fixed it on the 2020 though

It's less of a luxury car and more of a fun and sporty driving experience. If you love cars and driving, Alfa Romeo is the way to go. But if you want a lot of electronic features/luxury shit or super comfortable drive. Then Audi or Mercedes will have what you want. I'll keep insisting that you can't compare Alfa Romeo with the German models. They are designed for different people.

full grain "pieno fiore" leather available in Stelvio is luxury, the optional leatherette artico available in GLC doesn't seem to be something luxurious to me, and even the nappa leather is considered as an inferiori quality to pieno fiore leather. Also Giulia and Stelvio have a better ride and comfort than C-Class and GLC, A4 and Q5 are even worse than C-Class and GLC in this field.

Great review, Forrest. Complete, very datailed and the driving experience was almost real ... even the sensation of seasickness .... ahahah!!! It happens to me if i am not the driver. Any way AR Stelvio is a remarkable car. Those who complain about the low quality of the interiors are not too wrong, but thay do not know what does mean to drive an AR as well. A collegue of mine has this car and seen closer, after all, those plastic parts are not so bad.

My wife drives the Giulia sport and that car is an enthusiast's car. It is so much fun. The best sedan i've ever owned or driven. No issues 12+ months now and I'm really itching for the Stelvio to replace my suv after lease is up.

Well, it is not that small actually, definitely is larger than the Macan. I have the feeling the Jaguar F-Pace might be a bit longer on the outside but it's just a feeling.

Nice color. I have seen plenty grays here in Europe but it's not as nice as this one. I would anyhow go for red (Alfa Rosso) which Alfa's traditional color.

I bought my Stelvio last Saturday. I was on my way to VW to test drive GTI autobahn. The ferric was bad I saw the Alfa and it was so sexy. I got 14k off my $54k TI 2018 Stelvio. The only problems is first promise Apple CarPlay and unable to buy a spare from service or aftermarket. I had to go Amazon.it or the spare ship it to my cousin in Palermo Italian and he has to resent it to me. Total of $600 the shipping was over $200. Unless you want to buy another factory 20 inch rim for $1000. However 20 inch takes the trunk space.

It's BMW rival car is X4. But the acclaimed leaders in that segment are said to be the Porsche Macan in a virtual jostle with the Mercedes-AMG GLC Coupe. BMW X4 is in that upper tier with them and the upcoming refresh of the X4 (expected 2018) should vault it to leader status in the segment. Audi are coming with the Q6, and Range Rover kinda crossed in there a little with the Velar. It's a fantastic segment and one of the most fun and competitive.

I've got a Giulia. The car comes with a bracket that you can screw into the fender, but I'm not a fan of putting holes in the car. I opted to purchase a tow-hook mount for the plate from alfa9supply

I hope they release a more powerful engine for the Giulia/Stelvio in the future. I just want a bit more but not so much... like a V6 @ 360 hp would be nice.

Agree, that would have been the ideal choice. However not sure about the consumption on that one. With the 280HP 4 cylinder I did not manage to go below 10L yet. But then again I drive more in urban environment than outside. On the first 3200km the average is 10.4L.

I love the car. The only problem I have is I now own a 2017 Landrover Discovery Sport. The alfa is so much like the discovery sport that I can't see trading it in right now. Being Italian, I would love another Alfa. I have had 4 in my heyday. I also have a Fiat 500X so for right now I think I will keep the cars I have but I probably will buy a gently used Alfa Stelvio within 2 years. I love the car.

Nice review. You can see every detail of the car very well. The controls are inspired from germans but it's not bad except they look a bit cheaper. The gearbox is the same as on the 3 series bmw and it is a good gearbox made by ZF. I suppose the bmw shifter can be installed into this if you want.

Well done! it's a good video and i enjoyed watching it. I wonder whether the Alfa chaps have finally installed the software to support 'apple car play' or 'android auto'. I've heard that the feature is getting there in the USA, while we have to wait a bit more here in Italy. BTW - that's going to be my next car, after my Alfa Romeo Giulietta! greetings from Italy. Beautiful car. The interior lacks CD player and hot preset keys. It makes that dash area look sparse. And the infotainment screen could be larger. Apart from that, and the fact there's way too much plastic parts in the interior, it looks good enough to compete with cars from the more established German brands.

Central Lifestyle - you still use cd's?? This car is a 2018 model, not a 2000 model. Everyone who had cd's has put that music onto some sort of digital device a long time ago.

Audi car have a nicer interior but Audi can’t touch an Alfa the way it drives. Audi, BMW or Benz can’t touch an Alfa and the way it steers and drives. Sorry Germans loving people.

You have to pull both levers at the same time, that will engage the Neutral. I haven't tried it myself yet.

Forrest's Auto Reviews yes that's true but that's another strength of it compared to the Macan. If you have driven BMW and alfa suv you know that in terms of dynamics there no comparison, built quality of interior is still better BMW maybe but the concept of this car is much closer to Macan, it's a real SPORT utility vehicle. BMWs are well made big vehicles :). I would have spent time in saying this, because Stelvio has the spirit of Macan even if it's much cheaper

Yes, that will be interesting to actually compare. I'm currently driving a Macan Performance Package, and power is one thing, another is driving performance & dynamics, PDK, diversity and all over quality. So far the best car and concept I have tried. But who knows, maybe the quatrofoglio will be close...:-)
