To be honest if I was Thomas and I was a man who transitioned to a woman and so many woman came forward feeling uncomfy and upset personally I would NEVER keep going and infringe on someone else’s safe space! I would apologize and try to create a whole new group for people like that
I've read that Thomas is actually dating a woman. (Haven't looked it up myself) But if that is true and Thomas is going into the women's locker room, I personally feel that presents an issue. Especially when girls have been getting raped in locker rooms and bathrooms all over due to this very issue. Not to mention the guy who said he identifies as a woman and got 2 or 3 women pregnant in prison. Then people are telling these college women that if they're not comfortable changing in a locker room and seeing male genitalia that they need to seek counseling? That's completely eliminating the feelings and rights of women.
Riley should simply go public with "I identify as the winner of this award" simple if a man can pretend to be a woman then she can pretend to be a winner of the award👍

I feel so sad for this young woman and all the others that have to stand up to this ridiculous situation just to try to get their rights back. Crazy that as a father, I feel so proud of this girl, and I don’t even know her, lol. I know her family is very proud and stand with her.

Trans don't want to create a New Category. Because they believe by creating that, it's discriminate against them by saying they are not real women. And they still claimed to be real women, so they deserved to access female spaces without being discriminated against.
I like how they say in the interview that Riley lost to someone who's only been a woman for a year. The question is how is he a woman ? it's like kids thinking they're wizards and power rangers, does that make them what they claim they are just because they said it. What is wrong with society today ?

Good for her for speaking out against forcing female college athlete to accept an individual whom clearly has a biological advantage (having been born male). It is an injustice to the sport of swimming that the NCAA is forcing a kind political correctness which limits intellectual inquiry and debate, rather than what is truly at stake which is the journey of female athletes seeking to achieve success in their sport. This is not a question of acceptance or tolerance; this is a question of fairness, a level playing field, so that all participants at play have an equal chance.
Let's call it what it is. It's cheating! Picking the easy way instead of a challenge. I mean, where's the competition? Either create their own category or have them in the men's section. Why do they have to be with the women? Madness, absolutely Madness!!!
We women fought so hard for Women's rights. In the 70's women fought so hard for our rights n equal opportunity. In Australia Lea Thomas would have had "Buckley's" chance of pulling a bloody stunt like this. He wouldn't have even come close to the Pool let alone lining up on the starting block in those ridiculous swim suit. I wish you all the best for your future n you should be rightly proud of yourself for standing up for women's rights in swimming n I guess it should apply equally to all other sport where there is an equal playing field.
The only solution is when Males come to Race is to protest not race with them that day, just dont go on the start position and protest, all of you and show the world what that means, all girls need to stand together against it. Together! If Transgender want to compete, then they need to create separated Transgender Category only for transgenders, and that would be fair! Not allow them to destroy Female category...

Personally, I have been appalled for years. A person has every right to change gender socially, if they so desire. But, as far as sports competition is concerned, it is something else. If genetic men weren't, on average, more successful than genetic women in sport competition, there would be no "women" category. Genetic women are increasingly robbed and stripped of their rights. You have to see that there are competitions, like the 800 meters at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016, where THE FIRST THREE WOMEN ARE GENETIC MEN!!! And it is enough to carefully observe the characteristics of female competitors in various sports, such as MMA, boxing, athletics, tennis, ... to see that the proportion of non-genetic women is only growing. This is all the more so as there are more and more genetic men who, not performing well enough to win in the "men" category, suddenly declare they "FEEL" they are a woman, which is enough to go and compete in the category "women", and more easily earn titles and money - since, at present, THE ONLY "definition" of: "being a woman" is: "FEELING TO BE A WOMAN". "Definition" which, as everyone immediately sees, is PERFECTLY CIRCULAR. Given this easiness, it is obvious that, with time, THERE WILL BE ALMOST ONLY GENETIC MEN IN THE "WOMEN" CATEGORIES. Note that, EVEN if the "feeling like a woman" is authentic, this does not remove the differences: morphology, muscles, tendons, bone structure, etc..., as well as the sporting advantages which are linked to it. And this formation has already been done in the womb, and it is not "hormone therapy" that will change this fact. And you can add to this that most transgender persons have been raised and trained as a man, before transitioning. Personally, if I was a "genetic" woman, I would be furious. Surely very upset. I would feel cheated, conned, betrayed. I find it very sad that "genetic" women do not react or CANNOT react COLLECTIVELY to defend themselves. I understand the dilemma in which they are placed, and the vicious "reasoning" which is imposed on them: they are locked into the following network of multiple binds: 1. “Transgender women” are “real women” 2. Since they are women, they must be defended AS SUCH, and therefore IN THE NAME OF “FEMINISM” 3. BECAUSE they must be defended in the name of feminism, and BECAUSE all "women" must unite in feminism to DEFEND THEIR COMMON CAUSE, genetic women must unite with non-genetic women to defend the rights of those to come and steal their places. In other words: CERTAIN WOMEN ARE ASKED TO WORK AGAINST THEMSELVES IN THE NAME OF WOMEN'S SOLIDARITY. This is exactly the absurdity we have reached !!! There was talk at one time of creating a third category: a "transgender persons" category. This was seen as discriminatory and branding, perhaps rightly so. To avoid this pitfall, there is a solution: keep the two categories “women” and “men” as they are. And create a third category: "GENETIC WOMEN". This solution IS NOT DISCRIMINATORY. Indeed : A. There will be NO TEST to enter the "women" category. Anyone declaring to feel like a woman can enter. B. There will be a genetic test to enter the category "genetic women". This will ABSOLUTELY NOT be a discriminatory measure, AS THIS IS PRECISELY THE DEFINITION OF THIS CATEGORY ITSELF!!! Now, for this solution to encounter difficulties, some lobbies would have to protest, and declare "discriminatory" the fact that genetic women CREATE a category for themselves. But this protest would also be an acknowledgment that being a "transgender woman" has, on average, a sporting advantage. What's more, any category would then become "discriminatory": adults could ask to compete with juniors, etc... And so on ad infinitum. What are the sports authorities doing ?? The question must also be asked: what is the percentage of "transgender persons" among sports authorities in women's sport now ? I support women 100% in this fight, and I'm sure I'm not the only one - far from it. That's enough. People have got to speak up.
