I have a buble magus curve 7 that I bought 3 years ago (used for 3 years) so its going strong for more than 6 years now with no pump problems. This new one does look nice, but the old one is so reliable it's hard to understand how they make it better :)

I have a bubble mag curve 11 on my 325 fowlr setup. When it comes time to clean the skimmer cup my kids normally head to a different room and then afterwards they all are gagging. The skimmate this thing pulls out makes a skunks spray on you smell good.

I always thought the original BM skimmers had sicce pumps as well but they were just unbranded without any logos etc? I dismantled them along side a genuine sicce pump & I couldn't tell the difference anyway!

The one he has looks black and orange. My plumbing is orange pvc and that would look perfect for it. But now I'm on the fence bc he did black and red.

I too have orange PVC and was curious based on this video. However all of the marketing and photos of the skimmer show it being red. If you want a grey alternative check out the SR Aquaristik (I use it myself and have been very happy) It has a very similar form factor, controllability and price.

It does look a bit orange in this video, but it is indeed red like the stock photos show.

Had planned to buy one of these, as they look great and have excellent reviews... But no DC pump! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Back to the Curve A series we go....

For the average 45 gallon, the Curve 5 Elite is a bit overkill. I would suggest checking out the Reef Octopus Classic 110SSS instead.

Are the Italian pumps on these elite skimmers quiet? I'm looking at either this skimmer or the Z-8 skimmer with DC pump. I'd really like a close to silent skimmer.

Sicce pumps are some of the quietest pumps available. You'll get a bit of noise from the sound of the air being drawn into the skimmer regardless of AC or DC, but both of these options will be close to silent.

if my tank is 110g would i go with curve 9 or the curve 7? Thanks so much.

Bioload will also come into play, but based on your tank size, the Curve 7 would be a better choice for more consistent skimmate production and less adjustments needed.
