I’m genuinely surprised that these didn’t make it to HO scale yet but came to N same first. Hope to see the HO versions of those UP patched SP Dash 9s in the future!
Very cool locomotives, its amazing to see how far N scale has come in recent years! Heck, it seems like yesterday that just having something like operating ditch lights was a huge deal on an N scale locomotive!
Hey Drayton 👋 these Engines look Top Knotch I've already picked up One I was wondering since the Engines we're Ex S.P & the S.P. used Alternating Ditch Lights why was that feature left out & if a Modler wanted to add this feature via using a Lok Prommer on his or her particular Engine can it be done & would it void Any said Warranties.. Or could the Engine be sent in to add the Feature Thanks Allen D..
DCC ready is not thru on you locomotives, as you have a propitiatory crap installed on the board, blocking the installation other than ESU decoders, requiring the removal of your board, and replacing it with some body else board like Soundtrack. This is misleading at best, close to fraud,as you do not declare this information to the buying modeler. Why are you doing this? Having an exclusive contract with ESU need to be disclosed. Period.
While it is true that ESU designed the main board in our models, there is no proprietary components on our boards that will not work with other brand decoders. It may seem this way however the ESU decoder has more capability than some other brand decoders specifically, in the ability to use off-decoder microprocessors to control some lighting functions and the Power Pack circuit. We have modified our boards in some models to better accommodate other brand decoders. There is no escaping the fact that the ESU decoder will always be an easier option as we've written the decoder program to match the wiring in the model it is installed in. With other brand decoders, all functions will require configuring to match the wiring and operational CVs set per the capabilities of the chosen decoder. -Mark McAllister, Product Support
@@Scaletrains Well, thanks for the feedback. So I wasn't wrong wen I said that you board is design uniquely for ESU. I prefer Soundtraxx myself (one of the reason, it is a US manufacturer), and I like the sound system anyway, witch requires the removal of your board. So I am paying for some thing that I can't use. This is why I got very frustrated when I realized that I can't use a 21 pin decoder, and now I have to do some surgery. You should still call it in you specifications.
@@AbelG8781 Ha! so you don't like made in America. I understand that not all components are made in America, but they put it all together in this country. You of course go to China to save money, but don't provide us, customer with the lower cost. Also, since you mentioned it, I saw your video were the Chines factory lock in workers in "dormitories" were they can go out once a week, which is about the same as slavery.
