For over 50 years, the Housing Assistance Council (HAC) has supported minority-led housing developers as they work to solve their communities’ greatest housing challenges. At the 2023 National Rural Housing Conference, we sat down with six of our local partners to learn more about how our lending and capacity building has impacted their work.
Since 2003, Elisha Ministries, a faith-based nonprofit based in northern Louisiana, has provided support to chronically homeless and mentally ill individuals. Over the last 21 years, they have connected over 100 people to permanent supportive housing. In addition, Elisha Ministries provides financial education, transportation, and utility assistance to low-income people.
