Great videos Dan one thing I've learned in all the years of fishing I always pinch the barbs on all my hooks it helps in removing the hook an the survival rate goes up I loose very few fish thanks for the awesome videos an I'm Dan from san Diego
Patrick McCracken during the summer when the water is close to 70 degrees, the Warbaits/Keitech combo works amazing for me! Now with the water temperature between 55 to 58 degrees, I have way better luck with Hookup Baits!🎣😃
Dan, have you ever considered launching from seabridge park? It's where I launch my float tube from. It's right by the preserve you are fishing. You can park about 20 feet from the water. Not sure what launching your kayak requires but if you can drag it across sand for 20 feet into the water, it would allow you to launch right by your fishing area. Always plenty of parking too.
gwolff I launch from the dock, but it’s an extra mile of peddling the kayak to reach the big bridge at PCH! But... the extra exercise is probably a good thing!🎣😃

Back when the orange buoy line was in good shape, the Harbor Patrol and Orange County Sheriifs would definitely tell you to move if strayed into that area. After the buoy line broke loose at both ends and became a big jumbled up mess in the middle of the bay, they don’t seem to bother with enforcing the boundary. I would still avoid going too far into that area, because it is a marine reserve.🎣😃
I haven’t had that issue with the hookup baits. Only problem I’ve had with them is that they get tore up too easily and they’re pricy. Dan you should plan a video to do a meet up!
