Bud swell won’t be an issue, just simply spray them before the buds open. Anytime before budding out will be just fine. Don’t stress too much about it. Just get it done when you can before spring.

Right now is the time to do your last spray before spring hits. There will be no issues from mixing the two together. In fact, some companies sell the two already mixed together. And absolutely, you can almost spray any fruit with this mixture. Never spray the tree with this mixture once the leaves sprout though.

Absolutely. Of course depending on what you’re spraying you’ll want to double check any warning on the labels. For the most part it’s never an issue though.

That is correct

If sprayed following the instructions given there should be no soil degradation. It is overspray that’s the issue. There’s no need to overspray your plants. All this spray takes place before pollinators are attracted to the tree. Great questions!

Absolutely not. The spraying time being during the dormant winter months is what makes this spraying regimen the best.

Then I think my trees may need this. 😬 we just bought this property and I have a maple and 2 mystery trees with some SERIOUS canker scars, some look fresh (like from earlier last year). One mystery tree has some branches with soggy peeling bark and there's 23 dead ash trees that were bored to death by ash boring beetles. Doesn't look like ANY trees have ever been pruned including the two baby mystery fruit trees one of which has canker scars.

I never spray my figs with anything. The only fruits that really need to be sprayed are Apples, Peaches, Pears, and Cherries. That’s because many of them are susceptible to diseases such as rust or fire blight. Many people hate on others when they spray their trees, but these sprays are considered organic and not harmful to humans or pets.

@@PlantFanatics I honestly have given up on growing peaches. I have lost two trees to borers. I grow figs now and have a half dozen varieties and in late fall I tend to get fig mosaic disease on the trees. it doesn't seem to harm the trees but just wondered if you treated for that or have heard of people treating it?

This will only kill harmful pests and disease that overwinter on the trees. Both of these sprays are considered safe for humans and pets as well.
