Im trying to learn water borne paint techniques, my take away is spray a "tack" coat first and let it cure a second before spraying the base as usual. Great video, thank you

I agree. There is no job in this profession that should be overlooked. Each job is as important as the next. This seems to be a very underappreciated skill to a lot of people.

Great jobs always man , I have a question, For complete cars or more than 5 panels do you thing the WALCOM 360 1.2 is a good enough option or 1.3 is the better way to go , my ex boss is selling the WALCOM carbonio 360 but both base and clear are 1.2 , I usually in my guns I use 1.3 only in the sagola throphy I use 1.2xl but this gun put a lot material , I don't have too much experience with the WALCOM so I don't know if is good to buy 1.2 or 1.3
@Stingyduce
@Stingyduce Год назад
1.3 is good, but if u want that show car finish I’d use1.4

Are you still getting a flat finish with your technique even though walcom recommend the gun to be much closer to the panel and to moving much faster?

These blues can be some of the more deceiving colors for hiding. It's the pitch that will throw you. I've seen painters finish these and then look a it in the sun and can see right through it. This looked like it covered very well over that shade of gray primer. I usually seal or use the spectral gray base first. Works well. So you dont use tack rags at all anymore? Interesting. Thanks for sharing
@jeremyoetken2094
@jeremyoetken2094 2 года назад
That's why you turn the booth lights off and look at the coverage with a color match light. You can't ever trust the booth lights
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS 2 года назад
I don't use them much! Only in certain cases like if I sand the base I'll tack it

@@jeremyoetken2094 Totally agree. Learned that trick some time ago. Unfortunately the other painter I was working with didn't do that and also used too light of a ground coat. He painted a complete F150. It didn't end well.
